i love these pictures! and awesome catch of Bill Cunningham – i stared at the picture for a good 10 secs before scrolling down wondering about what you cleared up
Or they are all just live and dressed the way they like… Cunningham believes in dressing apart from the people he watches like some sort of naturalist watching a selected bird species. I don’t think this is any more or less a mask. Its certainly equally delusional. Being talented and creative doesn’t make you wise.
I was about to comment with “IS THAT BILL CUNNINGHAM IN LEATHER PANTS?”… I’m so glad you specified that. He’s just so silly and cute. Hope everyone is actually warm! xx
Wow!
People dressing up as if we actually have weather! Not a pair of high-heels in sight, winter coats and hats and scarfs. What is this world coming to?
All these pictures make me very happy. I really don’t like when it’s cold, but I nearly would like to be there to laugh in the snow. All the colors of the clothes are beautiful.
I’m oddly delighted that Bill Cunningham has a blue parka for cold weather (instead of his blue workman’s jacket that he wears in warmer days). I’m in awe of his stamina.
High Fashion meets harsh weather. So much delicious contradiction in those photos, especially the Chanel-clad gal in the first image. And I’m in lust with that fur hoodie! http://www.editorialite.com
I had the same reaction to the picture of Bill Cunningham! I stared at it for a while then started to scroll down then went back to it. I finally thought, “no. that can’t be Bill Cunningham.” and then I read what you wrote and cracked up! You knew-
Thanks for posting these. It’s always easy to dress for winter in December when the season is still a novelty, but much harder to in February when you’re eight weeks in, tired of all the color combinations you’ve put together, and there’s six inches of snow on the ground. This provided some much needed style inspiration for how to look cute in inclement weather.
Neither sleet nor snow can halt fashion and those whom adore it. Thank you for braving the elements to bring us beautiful images to enjoy fireside with h a u t e cocoa. x o victoria saulovich
Pics 4 and 5 capture it all. Love the rush out of the elements of #4. It’s also in black and white. Yes! #5 is layered style, which is always an attraction to me, especially since it’s winter. http://mensnatural.co
These people make being in a snowstorm romantic and exciting. It makes me want to join them and enjoy the cold and bluster instead of complaining about it. These photos capture the vitality and warmth of the people beneath the layers!

This is why one owns a mink cape. Fabulous piece, wonder if it’s vintage, if she inherited it, what it’s story is.
