Love the bag and the gloves. Love the sleeves and the quilt-like pattern on them. Don't like the sunglasses (sick and tired of those)
Fingerless leather gauntletts? Reckon I could work those when the sewing room gets cold! x

March 3, 2010 at 6:04 am
It is so nice to see pictures of Milan where people seem so alive after the utter drabness of London (a zombie town if fashion bloggers are to be believed). You captured her expression v well!
March 3, 2010 at 6:08 am
ABSOLUTELY COOL!!! I love the colors!!!! Saludos from Chile …Karin
March 3, 2010 at 6:27 am
Ah ! That's an interesting use of lether ! Dommage pour les lunettes qui ne vont pas avec le reste (in my opinion).

March 3, 2010 at 7:43 am
cigarettes only look cool in pictures! She looks good ;D
March 3, 2010 at 7:48 am
If you'd described this dress to me I don't think I would have liked it – but seeing the execution… Perhaps it's because the color and cut are so unexpected in leather. Really beautiful.
March 3, 2010 at 8:08 am
Gorgeous bag, gloves, undersweater and even nail varnish.I need the gloves and bag!!!!Love the fact she's left her hair natural and seems to be wearing little make-up.
March 3, 2010 at 8:25 am
Perfect except for the cigarette.
March 3, 2010 at 8:37 am
strange but interesting…She just looks like a lezard to me
March 3, 2010 at 8:39 am
The handbag looks gorgeous…if she was here in front of me I'd ask her where she got it…
March 3, 2010 at 8:50 am
Cool gloves and dress, I love the color she matches, also leather makes her look more stylish.
she looks a little like franka potente!love the bag!!
March 3, 2010 at 8:51 am
cozy and cool. I love her gloves and her camel colored blouse.
March 3, 2010 at 8:58 am
yeahhhcouleurs + matière = tout est sensationel !
March 3, 2010 at 9:00 am
Love the colors, love the outfit. Too bad she did not take more care with the hair. I am always disappointed when I see someone, male or female, this dressed up in beautiful clothing drop the proverbial ball with unkept shoes or a last minute hair fix.
March 3, 2010 at 9:04 am
I've been reading a lot about wabi-sabi lately. To me, this outfit has it.

March 3, 2010 at 9:05 am
Great photo. She's very distinctive and I can see why she would stand out in a crowd. She's really rockin' it cave-girl style. Is she wearing a turtle-skin dress?
March 3, 2010 at 9:10 am
OH LALA!! i love the fingerless LEATHER gloves…totally fab!!
Totally agree with the sunglasses comments. Everything else about her look went according to plan….and then she reached for some shades. I do love how you caught her cheeky smirk. Great photo.
March 3, 2010 at 9:11 am
this is perfect.
March 3, 2010 at 9:12 am
love the smile and the outfit but never understood the appeal or the function of fingerless gloves. gorgeous nonetheless!
March 3, 2010 at 9:16 am
So much lovely leather, I can almost smell it. Favorites? The braided handles on the bag and the softness of the gray shirt to juxtapose all the toughness in the leather.
March 3, 2010 at 9:18 am

March 3, 2010 at 9:55 am
i love the matte black glasses
March 3, 2010 at 9:56 am
I love the leathers in her outfit. The gloves with the nail polish and cig are divine (sorry, visually speaking, it's still a great accessory…).
But I think I wore those glasses to watch avatar…
March 3, 2010 at 9:58 am
Love everything…but the cigarette! :( Makes me look at leather in a whole new way…
March 3, 2010 at 9:59 am
Nice mix of leather, textures & colors! I really like the fingerless gloves too!

March 3, 2010 at 10:01 am
This Celine collection is blowing my mind. I love it the more I see it on people.
March 3, 2010 at 10:29 am
Very nice indeed. The colours, the leathers, even the nail polish ! Perhaps the glasses could come off, other than that the only improvement possible would be that she was naked… but still with the nail polish!

I love the leather top!
March 3, 2010 at 11:30 am
wonderful combination of earth tones and leather!xo
March 3, 2010 at 11:32 am
Aren't these the 3D movie glasses? They're hideous.
March 3, 2010 at 11:54 am
I'm liking the shapes and textures a lot (even though gator skin kinda creeps me out). The sunglasses are a bit over-done in my opinion, but hey overall it is a winner in my little book.
One thing I just have to get off my chest, is how annoying it is to see all these beautiful, creative people smoking! Grrr. I've been following this blog consistently for a long time (well, as long as it's been going, at least), and while I can always still respect the photo and the outfit, it does get on my nerves the shear number of smokers around here. But, hey, that's just my opinion and I still love these pics! I guess this is more a rag on the culture associated with fashion, which unfortunately tends to promote an unhealthy lifestyle. Oh well.

March 3, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Leather on leather on leather! erm….its not that I dont like its just teeeny weeeny bit too much leather!
March 3, 2010 at 12:11 pm
Love the look? Maybe it wouldn't be so filthy without the cigarette.
March 3, 2010 at 12:16 pm
March 3, 2010 at 12:20 pm
Those gloves are amaze, and I love her color scheme here!!!
March 3, 2010 at 12:32 pm
amazing texture!love the sunglasses!XOXOhttp://loresfashion.blogspot.com
March 3, 2010 at 12:49 pm
She looks familiar. Is she an actress? This look seems tailored for her. I cannot get over the texture. The polished nails are a plus.
Also, I love the cropped shot of the young woman with eyeglasses gazing at the subject of the photograph.
March 3, 2010 at 12:53 pm
those gloves! where can i get those…
March 3, 2010 at 12:54 pm
love the look! the gloves, the bag, the leather dress, the sunglasses. she is beyond
March 3, 2010 at 12:57 pm
Oh those beautiful gloves…
March 3, 2010 at 1:06 pm
I agree with bamto: when I first saw her, she reminded me of Franka Potente. like the cool attitude.
March 3, 2010 at 1:47 pm
That could've easily been leather overkill but it's not. It's fantastic!
March 3, 2010 at 2:10 pm
This is me, minus the sigarette:)
March 3, 2010 at 3:06 pm
I love it. I need those gloves. Looking through the comments it doesn't seem like anyone knows where to find something similar? Alas!
March 3, 2010 at 3:23 pm
nice to see this sort of leather item working well so casually, a great outfit, especially the colours-and the gloves are so quirky! love it

March 3, 2010 at 4:41 pm
She looks incredible. Can't wait for winter now! The nails also make a huge difference…will keep that in mind…
March 3, 2010 at 5:06 pm
I absolutely love the girl! She looks sooo…. Great! God, I love her dress so much!
March 3, 2010 at 5:28 pm
Funny what one likes appalls another. I like the messy hair, and the handbag straps. The shape of the dress is kind of gladiator? though, but the color and texture are great on her. Fingerless gloves: why not? Cigarette? Oh well, she has time to quit.Sunglasses … who is it who says: Pffff all the time…..?
March 3, 2010 at 5:51 pm
March 3, 2010 at 6:22 pm
Love the camel tones with the brown tones.
March 3, 2010 at 6:24 pm
What a wonderful leather dress!
March 3, 2010 at 6:32 pm
Way too much leather going on although the colours and layers are lovely as are the individual pieces. Anyone near her hoping to catch a zephyr of that lovely leather scent would be sorely disappointed.
March 3, 2010 at 7:26 pm
Are those gloves by Julia Deville?
March 3, 2010 at 7:51 pm
Sophisticated color combination. Lucky that the background wall matches. The fingerless gloves would be a bit affected if she weren't so natural looking and if her tunic didn't balance them so well.
March 3, 2010 at 8:15 pm
I just love the mixes of different materials and neutrals.
March 3, 2010 at 8:56 pm
absolutely love her leather dress and bag!! freaking awesome!!http://www.donotshoeme.blogspot.com/
March 3, 2010 at 9:27 pm
She looks like I did when I was twenty and on my way down. Maybe a little out of control…so the picture makes me anxious. I always love BV bags, and the gloves are great, and the attitude is fragile, temporary and fashionable, but not so solid, as some of your real beauties. Interesting..a thousand words..
March 3, 2010 at 10:30 pm
I really love the bag and gloves. Very chic.
March 3, 2010 at 10:56 pm
I have to dissent from the overwhelming majority who seem to love this. The dress (or shirt?) looks like what it is – an animal hide – unfortunately not much more or much less. It's extraordinarily unflattering, in my view. Leather can be fashioned into such lovely things, but as a unifying theme, it doesn't seem quite right (at least not in this outfit).
March 3, 2010 at 11:55 pm
that whatever she is wearing+the cutoffgloves are fabulous
March 4, 2010 at 2:43 am
love her nails
March 4, 2010 at 4:30 am
I really like the layers going on in this outfit and I absolutely ADORE her handbag!
March 4, 2010 at 9:06 am
Wow, very nice !
March 4, 2010 at 10:27 am
i don't drool over bags, but that is one awesome bag. love the braid texture, et al. and on the whole she's nicely turned out.
March 4, 2010 at 11:23 am
LOVE the cut-off gloves, and I detest leather gloves on women normally! great with the vamp nail polish!
March 4, 2010 at 11:29 am
Sooo Bonnie Cashin; love it!!
Agree about the smoking; a tragedy. Hopfully someday we'll say, "can you beleive people were still smoking in 2010!?"
March 4, 2010 at 1:03 pm
Where did she find the brown reptile-print hospital smock?
March 4, 2010 at 2:34 pm
how cool!!a leather dress!
March 4, 2010 at 5:35 pm
I also dislike this dress. The cut makes it look like a hospital smock.
March 4, 2010 at 6:58 pm
Awed by the different leather items and wonder what there was from the hem down. Boots I bet. Anyway, that leather tunic is really interesting as are the leather fingerless gloves and oh! the bag! But I bet she's freezing her patooty off. Leather isn't warm…Masterful color mixer, too.
I V E S T I T I !

March 5, 2010 at 3:19 pm
Great outfit and take on leather!
To all the people talking about smoking; STFU, talk about the fashion and the picture and not about the cigarettes, its getting really annoying. Its Europe; more people smoke and unlike here one is not looked upon as a criminal when smoking a cigarette while people the size of elephants are walking down the streets chowing on their big macs
March 6, 2010 at 2:51 pm
i love her style! the gloves are so unique and she is like the centre of the world, standing spontaneously around all these people… nice glasses, beautiful nails, amzing bag (i'd like to have the whole image though..), and absolutely great colors match of brown, grey, black and orange!joanna
March 7, 2010 at 8:52 am
I love this! I wish I could layer for a change but it's just too hot in my country!

Here’s the thing: it seems such a testament to the STYLE the Sartorialist captures (as opposed to just trends) that I find myself referencing his photographs constantly for wardrobe inspiration, no matter the date they were originally captured. No matter if some or all aspects of them were a trend at that moment in time, somehow Mr. Schuman finds subjects that clearly have their own agenda, and it’s often timeless
