I love that the action in this photograph is in her face. Even though her pose is static and sharp there is movement in her imagined laugh. So so beautiful.
Good look, but I would like to see a better looking pair of jeans (here we go again with the jeans) with such a lovely jacket and top. Her entire self-presentation is perfection, too bad about the beat-up jeans, they distract.
Beautiful! Love this photo. I just changed the buttons on a blazer I have – so EASY. It's also easy to cover a tee and denim with a great blazer and have a look that's awesome!
Wow, can't believe I'm the first to leave a comment! I'm a loyal reader of your blog but have never commented before. I just enjoy coming here for the visual inspiration (and I don't mean just for fashion). You have such a sharp eye for aesthetics.
I love Emmanuelle's breezy, effortless style. Love the navy blazer with gold buttons worn with cazh jeans & a beat-up tee.
my love for this outfit is mainly derived from the fact that it is actually the androgyny of the ensemble that accentuates femininity in her overall appearance. also, the tucked in shirt, hand-in-pocket and waist of the jacket are just too hip!
The look on her face reflects how comfortable this look is. Sometimes I wonder why we (women) like to complicate our lives so much with all these added accessories….
Simple easy and understated very restrained. I would wear this but only with a mens blazer. Nice to see somone wearing an outfit not the outfit wearing them. Well done Lass…
Great jacket…reminds me of an old German military issue (long) coat I once had…appreciate the shape/silhouette and the buttons…the pairing with the faded jeans is great too
NICE TO SEE A WOMEN AT EASE WITH HER SELF AND WEARING JEANS. A NATURAL GIRL ONE THAT DOES NOT FEEL THAT CLOTHS MAKE HER IMPORTANT OR WORTH THE AFFECTION SHE DISERVES…..
OMG OMG OMG OMG it's emmanuelle alt! i LOVE her, seriously. her style's always so over-the-top, yet simple and alluring. thanks for sharing, Scott! for the next posts i wish i could see more of her and carine!
this is what eurotrash types have been wearing in london since the 1980s. people are only praising it because shes a fashionista and 'conscious' of her violation.
yet another reason why i love the style of emmanuele alt. only she could take a blazer like this and give it a rock and roll spin. and i am sure her shoes rocked as well. they always do, although now i am going to have to search for a picture of them online…….
She has such as cool, collected, and casually elegant style about her, regardless of apparel or mood of season she sets her own style meter and goes with it. Always sticking to a safe zone that is on cusp of absolute brilliance & setting that standard…what a talent.
Has any one else noticed that Ms Alt has earned every fade and whisker in her jeans? maybe I'm wrong, but These aren't the fake pre-distressed junk so common in stores. I would love to have jeans like those. They have become a part of her.
I dunno why I love this picture so much. Maybe it's the simplicity of the outfit, maybe it's the gold buttons on the blazer or maybe it's the girl and how you have caught her personality in a flash…literally!
This is amazing. She is wearing simple clothes (yet very well tailored and probably expensive), she has simple hair, no makeup, and somehow she gets away with it and turns it on a very much stylish and sophisticaded look. I wish I had this skill…
i could never wear this. but it suits her face. the cut of the clothes is excellent and it looks like she's had it tailored perfectly for her frame. she looks phenomenal and ultra classic.
I contrast Emanuelle's look with Giovanna's… Casual chic vs. feminine elegance. I like both looks and I mostly dress like Emanuelle but I have to say Giovanna's style is so graceful and chic.
The black leather belt with the jeans is sort of masculine, I think…
I love the jacket, the cuffs, and the tucked tee shirt.

I dunno why I love this picture so much. Maybe it's the simplicity of the outfit, maybe it's the gold buttons on the blazer or maybe it's the girl and how you have caught her personality in a flash…literally!

I disagree with Robert. She is different. It is about the details, the quality and the charme.
Is the jacket RTW Balmain '10?

This is amazing. She is wearing simple clothes (yet very well tailored and probably expensive), she has simple hair, no makeup, and somehow she gets away with it and turns it on a very much stylish and sophisticaded look. I wish I had this skill…

Like the T-shirt. Don't like the jacket at all – it's bus ticket-controller-like

That blue jacket is perfect-o, but I would have paired it with a darker pair of jeans. Ooh I hate 90s style light jeans!
