So casual and effortless!
March 3, 2010 at 6:51 pm
These days when people are wearing all sorts of foolishness, this is a testament to how well classics (albeit updated ones) endure.
She is fantastic!
March 3, 2010 at 6:53 pm
This is a testament to simplicity. I'm bookmarking this and referring to it whenever I get tempted into the bells and whistles of over-trendiness.
Great blazer. Navy with gold buttons = LOVE! xo
March 3, 2010 at 6:54 pm
She's effortlessly chic, no fair. That jacket is beautifully tailored.
Blazer of glory!

March 3, 2010 at 7:25 pm
I love that the action in this photograph is in her face. Even though her pose is static and sharp there is movement in her imagined laugh. So so beautiful.
March 3, 2010 at 7:28 pm
i love how effortless and casual this look is, and she is so beautiful too.
March 3, 2010 at 7:30 pm
change the blazer buttons, or change the pants

March 3, 2010 at 7:40 pm
sometimes everything is just as simple as that …
March 3, 2010 at 7:41 pm
she looks perfect
March 3, 2010 at 7:44 pm
Such a clean classy look. I need to invest in a blazer like this, its just something everyone should have in their closet.
March 3, 2010 at 7:51 pm
Sleeve length is proper.
Plays up figure & height.
And then a set of naval buttons get lobbed in too.
March 3, 2010 at 7:52 pm
Good look, but I would like to see a better looking pair of jeans (here we go again with the jeans) with such a lovely jacket and top. Her entire self-presentation is perfection, too bad about the beat-up jeans, they distract.
March 3, 2010 at 7:54 pm
love her blazer!
March 3, 2010 at 7:55 pm
beautiful !love her smile.
March 3, 2010 at 7:57 pm
Wow. Love the blazer paired with jeans. The buttons are great!
March 3, 2010 at 8:01 pm
She looks great. Nothing's better than simple and classic.
March 3, 2010 at 8:02 pm
Beautiful! Love this photo. I just changed the buttons on a blazer I have – so EASY. It's also easy to cover a tee and denim with a great blazer and have a look that's awesome!
March 3, 2010 at 8:06 pm
This is my favorite. This is a uniform I can get down with.
March 3, 2010 at 8:10 pm
The cut of that blazer is Perfect. She looks effortless.
March 3, 2010 at 8:11 pm
This is what is simultaneously perfectly casual and chic. The jeans and loose t-shirt evoke effortlessness and the jacket brings construction.
March 3, 2010 at 8:14 pm
Love this jacket! effortless xhttp://thevestimaniac.blogspot.com/
Great simple and chic outfit!
March 3, 2010 at 8:17 pm
Wow, can't believe I'm the first to leave a comment! I'm a loyal reader of your blog but have never commented before. I just enjoy coming here for the visual inspiration (and I don't mean just for fashion). You have such a sharp eye for aesthetics.
I love Emmanuelle's breezy, effortless style. Love the navy blazer with gold buttons worn with cazh jeans & a beat-up tee.
I love your blog! Please keep up the great job.
March 3, 2010 at 8:18 pm
OH i love that whole outfit, its so comfy, simple, and casual but it just works! and only the fabulous can make that happen
March 3, 2010 at 8:19 pm
March 3, 2010 at 8:20 pm
For me the buttons are too large and misplaced and I don't like the front of the t-shirt tucked in however, I love the idea of the look.
March 3, 2010 at 8:22 pm
She always wear jackets all the time!
oh totally in love.
March 3, 2010 at 8:30 pm
She's adorable! <3
love the casualness of the jeans + faded tee with the perfect tailored jacket!! great!!
March 3, 2010 at 8:34 pm
naturally prettylove her blazer.
March 3, 2010 at 8:39 pm
Emmanuelle has such effortless style, and I admire her as an editor as well. She can never do any wrong :)
March 3, 2010 at 8:46 pm
my love for this outfit is mainly derived from the fact that it is actually the androgyny of the ensemble that accentuates femininity in her overall appearance. also, the tucked in shirt, hand-in-pocket and waist of the jacket are just too hip!
i love the simplicity yet elegance of this look.
March 3, 2010 at 8:55 pm
Do you ask you subjects if you can take their picture or do you just take it?
March 3, 2010 at 8:58 pm
some women r just pretty dran hot!! no matter how simply they dress
March 3, 2010 at 8:59 pm

March 3, 2010 at 9:44 pm
The top half of this outfit is very chic, but I am really curious about the fit of her jeans and the shoes she is wearing!
March 3, 2010 at 9:45 pm

So hip & cool!!
March 3, 2010 at 10:06 pm
So simple and yet chic. I love the buttons on the blazer. She looks effortless.
March 3, 2010 at 10:08 pm
Perfection. Everything about this look reflects my ultimate style goal. Androgynous yet sexy, natural, and totally wearable.
March 3, 2010 at 10:15 pm
digging the mix of the dressy sport coat & the casual jeans
March 3, 2010 at 10:21 pm
The look on her face reflects how comfortable this look is. Sometimes I wonder why we (women) like to complicate our lives so much with all these added accessories….
LOVE the look… her jeans are fantastic!! They really complete the look: gorgeous & carefree
March 3, 2010 at 10:22 pm
She's a beautiful woman, full of confidence.
March 3, 2010 at 10:30 pm
Love the name, love the jacket!
March 3, 2010 at 10:42 pm
Keeping it simple… brava!
March 3, 2010 at 10:50 pm

March 3, 2010 at 10:53 pm
To me, this is perfection.
March 3, 2010 at 11:04 pm
March 3, 2010 at 11:15 pm
Awesome!! Love her combination between casual jeans, belt and t-shirt to a more formal blazer!
March 3, 2010 at 11:17 pm
emmanuelle! love it.
March 3, 2010 at 11:29 pm
Wow. Really stunning and natural. So classic too.
March 3, 2010 at 11:32 pm
Simple easy and understated very restrained. I would wear this but only with a mens blazer. Nice to see somone wearing an outfit not the outfit wearing them. Well done Lass…
March 3, 2010 at 11:36 pm
Gold buttons on blue blazers often drive me nuts, but she is rocking it hard. Beautiful and simple.
March 3, 2010 at 11:47 pm
Great jacket…reminds me of an old German military issue (long) coat I once had…appreciate the shape/silhouette and the buttons…the pairing with the faded jeans is great too
March 3, 2010 at 11:49 pm
This picture is pure harmony to me – relaxed, easy cool clothes that may not be totally 'what's now', but shows that innate style is always 'IN'.

March 4, 2010 at 12:24 am
NICE TO SEE A WOMEN AT EASE WITH HER SELF AND WEARING JEANS. A NATURAL GIRL ONE THAT DOES NOT FEEL THAT CLOTHS MAKE HER IMPORTANT OR WORTH THE AFFECTION SHE DISERVES…..
March 4, 2010 at 12:27 am

March 4, 2010 at 12:52 am
March 4, 2010 at 1:03 am
Amazing tailoring. As much as I hate to use the term, it's "smart-casual" at its best
March 4, 2010 at 1:05 am
Beautiful shoulder construction. Love the subtle flair in the sleeve cuffs.
March 4, 2010 at 1:08 am

OOOH..I LOVE IT SO MUCH *.*
March 4, 2010 at 9:22 am
this is what eurotrash types have been wearing in london since the 1980s. people are only praising it because shes a fashionista and 'conscious' of her violation.
March 4, 2010 at 9:26 am
so simple so elegant, great look!
March 4, 2010 at 9:33 am
I am insanely jealous….I want that jacket!

so cool, simple and beautiful! how can someone doesn´t love it?
March 4, 2010 at 10:10 am
yet another reason why i love the style of emmanuele alt. only she could take a blazer like this and give it a rock and roll spin. and i am sure her shoes rocked as well. they always do, although now i am going to have to search for a picture of them online…….
March 4, 2010 at 10:14 am
She has such as cool, collected, and casually elegant style about her, regardless of apparel or mood of season she sets her own style meter and goes with it. Always sticking to a safe zone that is on cusp of absolute brilliance & setting that standard…what a talent.
March 4, 2010 at 10:52 am
March 4, 2010 at 11:15 am

Great jeans+jacket combo!
March 4, 2010 at 1:01 pm
It's good to see a cell phone in hand rather than a cigarette.
Very rich looking short jacket.
March 4, 2010 at 1:20 pm
what a superb look :)
March 4, 2010 at 1:36 pm
Perfect little blazer.
I want to get one for spring. I think I shall get a slightly looser, slightly bigger one. Still, love hers. Gorgeous shape.
March 4, 2010 at 2:27 pm
Oh look! A regular, normal(ish) blazer. So chic in it's dependability.
March 4, 2010 at 2:29 pm
Great jacket, love it with the jeans. Simple and chic!
March 4, 2010 at 2:37 pm
I think the jacket could be by BALMAIN RTW Fall 2010, as seen in the catwalk just now! Lucky her!
Doesn't make you sick something so simple can look so good ? And of course, it never does on me !
Nice shot…love the buttons too.
March 4, 2010 at 3:18 pm
Has any one else noticed that Ms Alt has earned every fade and whisker in her jeans? maybe I'm wrong, but These aren't the fake pre-distressed junk so common in stores. I would love to have jeans like those. They have become a part of her.
March 4, 2010 at 3:25 pm
March 4, 2010 at 3:57 pm
The most perfect jacket!! Anyone know who it's by? I want it in my life…
Miss B xx
March 4, 2010 at 4:50 pm
March 4, 2010 at 5:32 pm
If that Balmain jacket wasnt $2000 (there or there abouts) I'd buy one in every color.
March 4, 2010 at 6:08 pm
she just look like the most awesome person all the time
March 4, 2010 at 6:09 pm
I dunno why I love this picture so much. Maybe it's the simplicity of the outfit, maybe it's the gold buttons on the blazer or maybe it's the girl and how you have caught her personality in a flash…literally!
March 4, 2010 at 6:12 pm
March 4, 2010 at 6:16 pm
I disagree with Robert. She is different. It is about the details, the quality and the charme.
Is the jacket RTW Balmain '10?
March 4, 2010 at 8:07 pm
WOW what a gorgeous jacket!!! Who makes it???
She Wore It Well
March 4, 2010 at 9:53 pm
So chic and minimal.
You just know she didn't spend 2 hours getting ready.
March 4, 2010 at 10:03 pm
wait a second, i thought that the tiny attorney – blazer was over.?.
March 5, 2010 at 2:47 am
Luhuve her jacket. Great buttons!

March 5, 2010 at 9:53 am
March 5, 2010 at 10:11 am
casual but very chic!
March 5, 2010 at 11:25 am
This is amazing. She is wearing simple clothes (yet very well tailored and probably expensive), she has simple hair, no makeup, and somehow she gets away with it and turns it on a very much stylish and sophisticaded look. I wish I had this skill…
March 5, 2010 at 11:48 am
She is so chic and stylish. But seriously how does she not carry a handbag? I'm so jealous…….
March 5, 2010 at 1:25 pm
Emmanuelle…effortless chic. She looks like she got up, knew exactly what she wanted to put on, and was out the door in minutes….
March 5, 2010 at 2:14 pm
I love this – blazers are a staple in my closest – always. It makes your look come together for work or play!
March 5, 2010 at 2:15 pm
March 5, 2010 at 2:42 pm
i could never wear this. but it suits her face. the cut of the clothes is excellent and it looks like she's had it tailored perfectly for her frame. she looks phenomenal and ultra classic.
March 5, 2010 at 3:05 pm
How I envy her for going to the show :))
March 5, 2010 at 5:18 pm
I love it. It is my style. Cool look and happy face… and yet this jacket. Im looking at this photo and Im in the sky.Aleksandra
March 5, 2010 at 5:45 pm
That Balmain jacket is awesome…
March 5, 2010 at 6:33 pm
i need to find the perfect blue jeans…
March 5, 2010 at 9:51 pm
I contrast Emanuelle's look with Giovanna's… Casual chic vs. feminine elegance. I like both looks and I mostly dress like Emanuelle but I have to say Giovanna's style is so graceful and chic.
The black leather belt with the jeans is sort of masculine, I think…
I love the jacket, the cuffs, and the tucked tee shirt.
March 6, 2010 at 2:33 am
Like the T-shirt. Don't like the jacket at all – it's bus ticket-controller-like
Prochaine arrêt: La mode
March 6, 2010 at 7:30 am
Love the blazer! Buttons give it a more actual&feminine touch.
March 6, 2010 at 8:18 am
March 6, 2010 at 9:14 am
That blue jacket is perfect-o, but I would have paired it with a darker pair of jeans. Ooh I hate 90s style light jeans!
March 6, 2010 at 9:16 am
Perfect mix of chic and casual, soignee and natural.
March 6, 2010 at 9:53 am
so self-possessed, chic, classic and cool. Beauty unadorned, love it.
March 6, 2010 at 10:54 am
Effortless style. Love the jacket. Perfect!!!!
March 6, 2010 at 10:45 pm
She's the boss!
