I love street style photos with bikes!
But I have to admit, I found it much harder to go by bike in NYC then it is in Europe! ;-)

There has always been something about “girls on bikes” that is so appealing: sporty, fit, dressed, casual–it all works. But, it pre-dates our notion of style; takes us back to earlier days when it was one of a few modes of transportation. I like it best when girls are sporty and rushing to arrive. But, I could also be wrong.

Love the blue and red contrast in the photo.

great bicycle shot!

Doubleplusgood utilitarian chic.

Double-plus-good utilitarian chic.

At first I thought she was wearing a one piece mechanics outfit.

Me too! I was thinking Bill Cunningham utilitarian style. She has an old world beauty. Love her expression and the contrasting color of the background buildings. Great shot.

Lovely image. Channeling Bill Cunningham for sure!

Love the pict!

Here in the country, it is now hunting season. To avoid getting mistaken for a deer,
all the hippest hikers wear a lot of blue. Without the bike she’d fit right in.

I love her coat!!
December 5, 2013 at 11:07 am
She has a lot of courage to bike around in a jumpsuit.
At least she is safe, and wearing flat footwear–I have seen so many girls, fall so elegantly, all on account of the heels they wore.
December 5, 2013 at 11:13 am
I love bikes!
December 5, 2013 at 11:17 am
Love her hair, beautiful soft curls. The bike is cute too!

Love the green bike and her casual style. Casual is hard to do without it looking sloppy.
December 5, 2013 at 2:34 pm
sorry, but she looks like a factory worker in an exSoviet in the 80s….
December 5, 2013 at 3:01 pm
Love that shade of blue of her coat; similar to the one Bill Cunnigham wears around town on his bike.
Plus, the shoes and bike color-way match has a chic subtlety to it…nice.
December 5, 2013 at 5:14 pm
great shot! almost has a vintage feel to it!
December 5, 2013 at 8:06 pm

I love threaticality in outfits, this takes you to Mao’s China – post-modern factory worker or something like that…
December 6, 2013 at 6:17 am
Great natural-looking moment. Hard to catch with bikers, they’re usually moving too fast. (Trust me, I know.)
December 6, 2013 at 2:19 pm
Simply marvellous. Cannot get enough of her expression. Tolstoï meets 21st NYC.

I must be very old! The frizzy hairy, the fair skin, the upturned collar, the rain coat, the pants, the tasseled loafers….has anyone on this thing heard of Kate Hepburn? Not one person mentioned her and she invented this look. Learn it people!
