I'm crazy about that color palette on him! And I love how it's an updated sort of plaid.

Loving capes! So warm.
March 4, 2010 at 10:00 pm
Yes. That is the way to wear a cape!
March 4, 2010 at 10:07 pm
I think Rumi of fashiontoast has this cape (or a very similar one at least…) haha, interesting to see a guy rock it!
March 4, 2010 at 10:12 pm
i wouldn't really call that a cap right? more like a poncho?
March 4, 2010 at 10:33 pm
NO, not the poncho!
March 4, 2010 at 10:39 pm
This cape rocks! xo

Love this cape! It reminds me of a Mondrian painting from the Yves St. Laurent/Pierre Bergé collection (http://tinyurl.com/ygpfj6b)- sold last year at Christie's. But not to be confused with the famous Mondrian dress by YSL.

Ah. oh..cool, I like the fabric of the cape, it looks kindof short for him, but he can pull it off, the cape should just a little longer, but cool looking. Thanks for posting! Always interesting to see what you post!

no capes! had to say it
March 5, 2010 at 12:04 am
Awesome! Beautifully tailored and I love the bold check – great to see on a stylee guy.

A dude in a cape? Best results were had by Batman and Sherlock Holmes…or James Brown and Elvis.

I prefer the double-breasted cape from the lady below. But yes! Capes for men!

Just wanted to say that I check in everyday for inspiration. I have put a link to you on my own blog.

sadly, just not a fan of this. he's not trying enough! while normally, i prefer those that don't try at all!

*sigh* I just LOVE capes. They have a thing about them that you feel instantly stylish when you put them on. It took me years to find mine and when I found it, it even was on sale. ;-D
While this guys cape is marvelous, the hat and the misfitting trousers are totally ruining this look. Still a guy wearing a cape: cool.
March 5, 2010 at 4:03 am
Seriously lovin' this guys style!

This is quite a feminine cape but that outfit works anyway…

As always…beautiful shot, but in this stream of examples on how to pull off the cape look, this shot is the example of what not to do. This looks absurd, as if he was dressing on a cruel dare or randomly pulled garments from, and dressed in, an unlit room.
March 5, 2010 at 4:58 am
not sure. looks like a checked toadstool. And like there's not mushroom inside it.
March 5, 2010 at 7:44 am
I was waiting for men's cape pix but I'm not too sure about it right now… Who knows, maybe I should just jump onto the bandwagon before it gets hip ;)
March 5, 2010 at 8:03 am
I'm not sure about this either. Perhaps I would have preferred the sweater he's sporting underneath?
March 5, 2010 at 8:04 am
Honestly, no. The proportions are wrong. It looks like he stole the cape from a schoolgirl.

A "Caped Crusader" with Balls of steel! Well done Scott!
March 5, 2010 at 9:08 am
Like the cape – it has all my favorite colors. Not sure I'm diggin it on him.
March 5, 2010 at 9:19 am
The color pallete is beautiful on him and he can totally pull that cape off. Also love his litlle hat.
March 5, 2010 at 10:51 am
this is SO unflattering–he no longer has any shoulders. & the leng5h looks like he wore a kids size. Contrast with the fabulous gray one on the girl you photoed–a cape needs some shape, otherwise looks like you cut a neckhole in a tablecloth.
March 5, 2010 at 11:41 am
Chic bordering on grunge, but probably Burberry… Love it
March 5, 2010 at 1:26 pm
He looks very serious about his cape. I think if I saw him I would laugh.
Menswear must at least nod towards practicality. I guess I would buy capes as menswear as replacements for, say, raincoats, in which case they'd be longer. This one is probably worn for warmth but has got to be drafty, being so short. And if it ever got wet it looks like it would smell like a wet sheep.
March 5, 2010 at 1:46 pm
I love capes. This is a good example of how not to wear one. It's too small for him. The two women have it right, he gets it wrong.
March 5, 2010 at 2:50 pm
no no noooo!
March 5, 2010 at 2:55 pm
not sure about capes on men…unless it's more like an opera cape…on dracula.
March 5, 2010 at 5:01 pm
I like this young man, and recognize him from a previous photograph you took of him during your orange and brown week, as I call it, last month. He is a dream and looks fantastic wearing his cape. For some reason, this man can really pull off a look that for most, would really turn your eye in the other direction. I like his style which to me is raw but somehow polished.
March 5, 2010 at 5:49 pm
Thank you for focusing on capes– definitely a garment that has been under-utilized for a long time!
March 5, 2010 at 6:05 pm
like the colors..but it does look wrong on him. too short. the plaid makes it look too busy along with the wideness and the ruffles..
March 5, 2010 at 6:14 pm
Any suggestions of places where one can buy a men's cape that isn't for medieval warriors?!
March 5, 2010 at 7:22 pm
not feeling it…AT ALL but, good on him though for taking the risk
March 6, 2010 at 8:37 am
yes! i love capes. so glad people are wearing them in an absolutely chic way.

I have seen this man on here before and each time I took note of palette issues which causes him to look awash in yellow. From the undertones in his skin to his bleached yellow hair and the pale beige in his cape. It doesn't do much to make him look healthy or well put together but then again that may not be the look he is going for.

Hi Emilio!! but are you??? it'long time that dont'see you.I love your Capes!!gioia (ex friend university Polimoda Florence)

How do you wear a cape? By just wearing it? Seems like that's the only thing this guy is doing. Unimpressed.
December 9, 2011 at 10:18 am
Isn’t that more of a poncho?
December 15, 2011 at 11:01 am
How neat! Is it really this smpile? You make it look easy.
