I’m a Birkenstock holdout, but all else about this is very fine, particularly that haircut.

Jenny, more than most, can truly cross back and forth over the gender line. Mechanic, fashion model, bare-faced or made up, cut-out tee or fashion label wear… she never missteps.

    Clean. Minimalist.

Living on this side of the river, as opposed to that side of the river, one has a natural long bred aversion to Birks. I broke down over a year ago and love them with and without socks. Let the good times roll.

I’m sorry, but this seems a bit like the emperor’s new clothes. This outfit is horrible – especially on a woman! It looks like an elementary Catholic schoolboy outfit. Maybe this woman does have an admirable style, but not in this outfit.

I’ve broken this down, it’s only shorts, birks, socks, sweater, shirt. Why is it so terrific? But it is…

I’m with ‘me’, I’m afraid. My response when I first saw the photo was to wonder why someone on their way to school was being shown. Judging from the comments I’m thinking it’s a contextual thing – a style that makes sense and is made more interesting by knowing the Jenny of the comments.
