He is not beautiful, looks like a faux hipster at best.
October 30, 2013 at 3:30 pm
Is there such a thing as a faux hipster?
November 1, 2013 at 4:19 pm
Yes, they are everywhere here in NYC
November 6, 2013 at 1:53 pm
What differentiates a faux hipster from an actual hipster, exactly? Which are you? You should be either one or the other, to have the information needed to differentiate between the two.
November 7, 2013 at 8:16 pm
Curious what your definition of hipster is if you think he is one, faux or not..

I love the print on the tie!!!!

@CK: Nice to see one person had the clarity to point out that “the emperor has no clothes.” The ensemble looks thrift shop to me — not that there’s anything wrong with thrift shop per se, unless one assembles one’s thrift shop finds in a way that screams “THRIFT SHOP!”.

It’s a retro look, but no less stylish for being retro unless one has a thing against retro looks. It’s a well-tailored look with beautiful fabrics, an interesting mix of patterns and impeccable grooming.

somebody forgot where he parked his time machine! lol! :)

The world is a better place when we see the beauty in people; regardless of what they look like. :)
November 2, 2013 at 5:48 pm
Totally agree, most people are too busy judging outward appearances.

This picture reminds me that it’s Movember already! Guys, grow that moustaches!

I see the unique and lovely tie and the way it works with the shirt and jacket. Wish I could shop HIS closet.
October 30, 2013 at 3:01 pm
He looks from another era, very cool!
October 30, 2013 at 3:03 pm
Haha, well, you are fine-tuned to the smallest of details. I must admit, the only reason I care about how my nails look is because other people seem to care about how everyone’s nails look. I don’t understand it, but I’ll play along.
October 31, 2013 at 11:40 am
No, don’t play along. Instead, help shift the paradigm.
How one’s hands are of service is more important than how one’s nails are groomed.
October 30, 2013 at 3:33 pm
He should considered a New York fashion icon.
October 30, 2013 at 3:48 pm
He reminds me of Jude Law.

Awesome photograph!! Love his suit.

you like gesture. that is what draws your eye to the nails. I like how well the outfit goes together. and how the background frames the subject. very nice.

“Faux hipster”?? Soooo disagree! I love Michael’s sartorialism, and ability to style himself a la Gatsby. Love the tie. Love the jacket. Love the whole look … and his RADIO SHOW!!! http://www.eastvillageradio.com/shows/nowplaying.aspx?contentid=1336&showid=199856

I just see Groucho Marx!

One has to give Michael Haar a thumbs up for being well turned out and consistent with “his” style. As for his manicure – He’s a barber!

Wasn’t this guy starring in a (recent) movie? He looks SO familiar…
October 31, 2013 at 8:12 am
Very nice pics.
October 31, 2013 at 11:18 am
Gotta appreciate a man who gives attention to the details.
October 31, 2013 at 11:35 am
Words like beautiful? Focus on nail grooming?
Sound’s like someone’s smitten.
October 31, 2013 at 1:25 pm
I think he is very well turned out. I love to see a man who is groomed to the nines! His suit fits him exactly!
October 31, 2013 at 1:39 pm
Great pairing of prints. The tie is the star of the ensemble.
Wish I could have one just like it.

This guy is just so cool. I like the style profile you did on him in 2012.
October 31, 2013 at 5:23 pm
Forgot to add that the fact that he hasn’t worn jeans since he was 19 (from 2012 style profile) is awesome.

Every detail is so great.

Details. Details. Love the collar pin.
November 4, 2013 at 3:24 pm
So much lovely details here (collar pin – love it!), but what caught my eye instantly was his lovely – yet slightly weird – moustache!
November 6, 2013 at 1:56 pm
I think Id prefer a guy with hands that looked more like they were used for something other then sticking out of a suit( no offense to this guy, he is well dressed, and I am sure he works hard) I would just find hands with nails cut much shorter, the way surgeons have them, or hands that look harder and stronger the way carpenters or electricians have them, or even hands that look broken on the top, the way martial artists have them all to be more sexy.

He looks to me very much like a young Tennessee Williams. Very nicely put together look. I like it!

I’m in love with Michael.

Looks very much like Bill Evan’s remarkable bassist Eddie Gomez in his prime.
