Perfect fit on the denim jacket. Perfect fall essential, especially here in New York City.

I’ve also only worn one denim jacket ever, but it’s Levi’s… For having only one, I couldn’t see going with any other brand!

I can’t believe this is your first denim jacket! I’ve been wearing mine since junior high! :)
September 17, 2013 at 5:03 pm
So cool. I will definetly keep the tip of the length in mind. Love denim so much but have just as you not found the perfect one for me…

The secret to great style : fitting clothes !
September 17, 2013 at 6:01 pm
I always love seeing pictures of photographers :)
September 17, 2013 at 6:40 pm
You are looking very sexy!!! Well done Scott!
I also want to say thank you on behalf of all tailors and alteration people!!!
Working in clothing alterations myself I know how important a perfect fit. It comes from understanding body proportions and it’s very individual for every person. I wish more people could understand that. Just as unfortunate that there are not many seamstresses in alteration business who can do a good job.
Good luck to everybody finding one!!!!
September 17, 2013 at 6:48 pm
It looks great! Nice job with the fitting!
September 17, 2013 at 7:36 pm
I know what you mean about the right fit Scott…. until recently, i too had no denim jacket and now have 3, in quick succession, all the same fit, different colours of course.
My girlfriend didn’t think it normal for a man to shop like this.
I now have a new girlfriend….
September 17, 2013 at 7:42 pm
Overall it doesn’t look good on you.
September 17, 2013 at 7:55 pm
September 17, 2013 at 8:49 pm
…and it looks great! Nice fit!
September 17, 2013 at 8:50 pm
I could not agree more.
September 17, 2013 at 9:19 pm
I have that jacket! J Crew sprezz
September 17, 2013 at 11:32 pm
Levi’s is the only denim jacket that stands out as the standard. Sure, there are imitations: many labels, colors, and different stitching–and these are all nice, too. But only one that shouts authenticity. Levi’s

great Denim jacket. it fits you perfectly.
September 18, 2013 at 3:25 am
Get a vintage Rustler. They are just great.
September 18, 2013 at 4:46 am
Ahhh, so that’s why I love jean jackets on other people but they never looked right on me — they were too long!
September 18, 2013 at 6:21 am
I love this jacket and the color is perfect. I think the Denim is the must have in a closet!
September 18, 2013 at 7:20 am
If you’re going to spend cash on clothing it’s a good idea to get to know a good seamstress or tailor for those little tweeks which make the difference between looking and feeling comfortable and not. We are all different shapes, their work can make all the difference. ,
September 18, 2013 at 7:47 am
You look awesome, Scott!
And I like that you took control over your clothes … Clinton on WNTW is always advising this. Now, when I shop, I know exactly what tailoring I’ll need, I don’t take my body so damn personally, see the straps and hem that need shortening, go get “the usual” done at my drycleaners, pick it up, DONE.
Your adjusting the denim jacket is totally de rigeur for a curvy petite like me!! :)
September 18, 2013 at 8:40 am
I also found a great denim jacket at J Crew. It fits perfect . Wondering if it’s OK to wear it with jeans? Still not sure of that Denim Suit look. Any suggestions? Does wearing a bit of a longer shirt to separate the two work ?
December 11, 2013 at 4:23 pm
A Denim Suit is a contradiction in terms. A denim jacket or pants is good for setting off something else as a contrast base.
September 18, 2013 at 9:20 am
It looks sharp! Like you’ve been wearing them forever. :)
September 18, 2013 at 10:19 am
hahaha I just bought my first denim jacket as well! And I’m older than you…
September 18, 2013 at 11:21 am
You look terrific in the jacket and I really like the dark denim!
A denim jacket! My gosh, yes! I want to wear one again. The problem at my age is that it will look like I’m wearing the same one, you know, like I never took the original off. Danger, danger. Still, if I pair it with the right items, it might just work.
September 18, 2013 at 12:03 pm
look for nudie jeans denim jackets. in my opinion, they have the perfect fit… wear the jacket double- or tripledenim and wear it as much as you can…
September 18, 2013 at 2:09 pm
September 18, 2013 at 2:30 pm
Looks incredible on you, you really know how to work your body type!
September 18, 2013 at 5:16 pm
And you look great in it. :)
It’s so interesting to see (when you let us sometimes) the way how you “grew up” to yourself, how your inner confidence and style evolved.
I think the main reason why YOUR blog is one of the best is that it’s not about fashion wich is a superficial, money based phenomenon, but it’s about PEOPLE. About eyes and stories in them. Your stories and your feelings in them.
I dont know how many times have you red this in a comment, sorry if it bores you. But I really appreciate your ability to see when looking. :) Have a nice day!
September 19, 2013 at 11:35 am
That’s right i can’t believe it :). For sure, i trust you when you say it’s a matter of a good cut. I’ve got my own for a year which is a present from my mother and the truth is that i wish it could fit a litlle bit more body-close. But something i noticed : once you roll up the sleeves, it does give a whole new allure to you jacket, whatever the cut is. I don’t say that you’re going to like it this way, but that’s a trick to try !
September 19, 2013 at 2:21 pm
That’s how I wear my denim jacket. I see too many men wearing them large. They should be snug.
September 20, 2013 at 8:05 am
Can you share your tailor’s info? I am petite (5′ 3″), and I’m always looking for a good tailor. Thank you.
September 22, 2013 at 7:46 am
Handsome! But then again, both Garance and you look good in anything-life’s unfair :)
September 22, 2013 at 12:08 pm
