Super capture! wonderfully creative fashion, a real sense of freedom and sublime chic! ty

Great pic, and her outfit is killer. Awesome print mixing!

Pairing today comfy shorts with elegant striped blazer, awesome shoes and vintage bag
July 22, 2013 at 9:50 am
That’s such an interesting choice of clash. Not the greens but the greens with the Washington jersey. I wouldn’t do it, but I guess I can’t knock it.

“I think mixing genres is such a great but under utilized element of fashion design.”
Agreed. But this just looks weird.

What LIZPR said.

True. The idea is great and one I experiment with, but this just looks sloppy because of the large shirt paired with the voluminous skirt. If the shirt were more fitted or paired with a pencil skirt or shorts in the same fabric, I’d like it more.
For my tastes, I’d pair the skirt with a tailored, crisp white sleeveless or short sleeve shirt and some great sandals.

Michelle, your detailed suggestions strike me as spot-on.
Likewise, the other comments about meaning and the Redskins name strike fashion chords with me.

A great shot! Love the bokeh. Is this candid or staged?
July 22, 2013 at 10:03 am
Great mix, it really works on her!
July 22, 2013 at 10:13 am
She looks gorgeus! Great capture.
July 22, 2013 at 10:17 am
I wonder if it was a deliberate choice to wear the ethnic African print with the Redskins shirt because the Redskins is a racially contentious name.

Been doing this since high school and I graduated in ’86.
I’d ditch the sneakers though.
Come to Brooklyn! You’ll see it done RIGHT
Such a cool look, love the mix and love the tee!

Mmmmm…I’m not feeling it! The skirt is great but not with that Redskins t-shirt. The t-shirt is fine, but I don’t like it with that skirt.
July 22, 2013 at 11:06 am
1. She is young, skinny and has a pretty face – she would look good in anything.
2. The whole look suits her vibe – well done!
July 22, 2013 at 11:11 am
Lovely eclectic outfit!!!! She looks so unfashioning but so pretty!!
Have a nice day!!

July 22, 2013 at 12:52 pm
She looks fantastic! this mix really works on her!
July 22, 2013 at 12:59 pm
She’s a Redskins fan? Dear Lord, why?
July 22, 2013 at 1:02 pm
she do it a lot in Bali. not by choice; i am quite sure of that fact.
July 22, 2013 at 1:18 pm
If you take away meaning and just look with the eye this is ok, but if you think meaning it is racist to the native americans to call a sport team by an old fashioned racial term. I think it is better to alway keep in mind meaning as well as the look. This is something fashion forgets to do sometimes.

Good point, Haruki.
July 26, 2013 at 10:10 am
That’s what I said. Maybe (hoping) the juxtaposition of embracing an ethnic print vs. a mainstream racial slur is a social commentary and not ignorance. I hope it’s the former instead of the latter.
July 22, 2013 at 1:37 pm
brave mixing! respect to her!
July 22, 2013 at 2:16 pm
She has such a beautiful face!
July 22, 2013 at 2:23 pm
Scott, man I don’t think it’s a whole lot o brain to this. It’s probably hot as shit in Italy, (as it is in all of Europe right now), and you just brilliantly caught a lady go casual, cool, and fresh, in full “F it” mode. That’s all. She is brave for mixing like that, however. And shout out to her African print. And shout out to her chucks too. haha.

The skirt is made with a Vlisco print, this prints are Dutch and not African, however they are so widely use in western Africa that they become synonymous of Africa.
July 22, 2013 at 2:48 pm
Very nice skirt but not with that top. Two extremes.
July 22, 2013 at 3:05 pm
She looks like just out from a painting :) such a nice pic (like always)

Can’t wait until the Washington Racistnames change their name. But there will still be Redskins t-shirts out in the world . . .
July 22, 2013 at 3:46 pm
Amazing combination of pieces, love it!

An absolutely horrible looking combination of clothing. Even the hair looks bad. However the photograph is well done, the subject pops from the background and grabs your attention.

Love it, great mix!

A Redskins Jersey? In Milan, no less? Agh – this is one American “fashion” statement one should never import.

i am a crazy follower of the MIXED UP GENRES! The pix is so precise in grasping the MULTI-GENRED aspect ;) thumbs up!
August 7, 2013 at 7:27 pm
Sorry, Sart, but she is a mess. [Insert wince here.] This combo is tragic.
August 8, 2013 at 7:15 pm
Is it me or would she have just put on any non-European sports team’s shirt? By the way, that’s not a Redskins jersey. It’s a regular t-shirt. It’s also not a graphic worth celebrating. Her skirt is literally the trail of tears (clearly not on purpose). This seems forced.
