Love the vintage photos you put up! You actually inspired me to add a vintage photo page to my website. I have photos of my family from the 1800′s all the way up to the 1980′s.

She’s dressed so well! 80 years ago… I wonder if you saw Riccione and how people dress there now. I don’t know if you would like it, but there’re beautiful stores there.
July 28, 2013 at 5:42 pm
Effortless glam & dapper-ness.
July 28, 2013 at 7:20 pm
This is pure elegance and fun for me, thank you Coco Chanel, for showing people that women could dress like this and still be women. I love it, in fact I think the 30s style suits me very much with my big nose, and my petite figure. It’s amazing, a red lipstick with that outfit, and you look incredible.
thank you for this!!!
July 28, 2013 at 7:21 pm
Love this picture! Sincere smiles.

July 29, 2013 at 1:33 am
An innocent moment before the next twelve years of mass death and unprecedented destruction ushering the world into the Atomic Age. No one has yet mentioned that so I guess I will.

July 29, 2013 at 2:35 am
That’s incredible! When you look at this picture, you can’t imagine the facism leads Italy at this time and Hitler wins the élections in Germany. This lovely couple looks like out of the reality…
July 29, 2013 at 2:44 am
This photo is so beautiful, and the funny thing is I always find it hard to imagine that people in these times did live their life in colour!
July 29, 2013 at 2:46 am
Absolutely amazing. BUTTONS up the side of her trousers (or are they lounging pyjamas). His shoes, EVERYTHING. I swoon!
July 29, 2013 at 2:57 am
I just love it! Perfectly chic, minimalist and sooo cool!!!
July 29, 2013 at 4:33 am
There is something so captivating about black and white photography..It’s classy and timeless. My latest post is also dedicated to b&w imagery..but a contemporary one.
July 29, 2013 at 4:45 am
Love black and white. There is an Australian photography magazine called black and white and I can look at it for ages.
People were so skinny back then. Gosh. Love this pic. Love black and white. It rocks.
July 29, 2013 at 5:00 am
Oh my Gosh, she’s so heavenly in her dress, and he’s both elegant and casual with his shirt and trousers!
They seem so serene…
July 29, 2013 at 7:21 am
This is Italian elegance…….she is so chic
July 29, 2013 at 7:43 am
Yes, I too was surprised by how few commenters noted the fragile historical moment. Thanks, Scott Hanlon. And, yes, her dress is wonderfully “modern.”

They look like they have had nothing to eat but gin for weeks and they are holding on to each other to keep from falling over.
July 29, 2013 at 3:39 pm
Beautiful and very chic people…
July 29, 2013 at 5:52 pm
Beautifull photo, 1933 the year that Hitler proclaim that hell was about to start, this couple was probably in a different set up a year later, the photo is like a gate in time because give us a certain paradoxal nostalgia, I rather be now than there but love the sense of style.
July 29, 2013 at 6:08 pm
Love the gorgeous vintage dress as well as the hair and make up. Notice how the lipstick still looks amazing even in black and white?

July 30, 2013 at 10:26 am
¿Por qué piensas que antes las personas tenían una elegancia que tan dificil es encontrar hoy en día?
July 30, 2013 at 11:16 pm
Ah, back when people were thin.
August 1, 2013 at 10:12 am
This photograph is gorgeous. Did they know what near-divine style they had? The 1930s is my most beloved time for style.
September 26, 2013 at 12:56 am
Fabulous photo….was there just 26 years later, loved Riccione back in the 50s
August 23, 2015 at 10:48 pm
…and in 7 years, neither one would be alive…WWll.
January 19, 2018 at 9:10 am
This picture does show the elegance of the 1930′s. Art Deco was at it’s peak and everything was very over the top and elegant. That woman is simply beautiful.
