    The shirt & tie’s starkness lend the hair and skin tones a bit more depth. It’s effective, but in this shot, looks excessive. The clothes have a dry, faded look, and makes his skin look oilier and hair wet, although neither appears that way if you isolate it from the other elements. They’re working against each other. The scrunched face eliminates much clarity from his skin, exaggerating the effect. But enough complaining…

    The subdued pocket square, thin tie & lapel, and collar width/angle come together well and seem to accentuate his frame well from what little we can see. The color of the tie is a great choice, and I’m sure worked well on him. A better shot would no doubt show this.
