Reminds me of how gymnasts stand. She looks pretty athletic too.

This shot is very artistic!
May 26, 2013 at 9:20 am
The lighting is perfect, I know that posture- she’s stretching her shoulder blades…and I just love how relaxed and breezy the whole shot is :)

So much movement whilst standing still. What a woman!
May 24, 2013 at 9:58 am
Beautiful. Love Barcelona! Her jacket looks like wings.
May 24, 2013 at 4:49 pm
Haha…love the wings comment.
May 26, 2013 at 12:58 pm
Yes, my first thought, too–an angel
May 27, 2013 at 6:45 am
Ballerina angel about to fly or scooter to heaven? Rehearsal?
Honestly, with the beautiful light it took me more than a second to figure out it was a sweater and not serious angel wings.
Her hair and head band add to the cute angelic vibe.
Who knew stylish Spainish angels had such fab bags and sneaks to boot.
Such ethereal, beautiful lightness..all next to the artful girth of the Gaudi (?) tile and wrought iron(?) bench.
May 24, 2013 at 10:06 am

I thought the same thing as Frippery Vintage, that she looked like an angel. What a shot!
May 24, 2013 at 11:09 am
Precios!!! Aires de primavera a Barcelona. Sembla un angel !!!
May 24, 2013 at 11:15 am
Amazing image. The bench with the her bag is just perfect!
May 24, 2013 at 11:25 am
This young woman is lovely…… but the bench !
It caught my eye with this incredible stone mosaic and beautiful, intricate wrought iron work. Notice the attachments to the stone bench !
May 24, 2013 at 1:55 pm
It’s a bench-lampost. There are 32 of them in Paseo de Gracia. It’s Catalan Modernist style from 1906 by architect Pere Falqués. Great picture by the way! Scott, hope you enjoy the city!
May 24, 2013 at 6:47 pm
Thank you Isabel for the info !
May 24, 2013 at 11:30 am

A wonderful study in contrasts: how one’s focus is sharpened by two diametrically opposed tactile surfaces.
May 25, 2013 at 6:18 pm
Yes, all is in the contrast and the light.
Happy to read you again.
May 24, 2013 at 12:03 pm
Fantastic pic! she looks like an angel.
The pose made me think of a pregnant woman. Don’t you come across any? it would be interesting too to see how they dress and if they add their little touch, other than their beautiful condition. I love the look, perfect for my youngest daughter who has a style totally of her own.

The light here in Spain is amazing and you have captured it perfectly!!
Plus I love the simplicity and elegance of what she is wearing.
I’m a Madrid, London and Dresden based photographer with loads of fashion shots from all three cities. I would love to have peoples opinions if anyone cares to take a peek!!
May 24, 2013 at 12:58 pm
I think those benches are Antonio Gaudí ‘design and are the base of nice srteetlights. They are only in Pasaseig de Gracia .
Scott I really wish you a nice staying in BCN.
May 24, 2013 at 1:09 pm
Beautiful photo, great moment, and you always catch a perfect light!

May 24, 2013 at 3:46 pm
That mosaic bench is amazing!
May 24, 2013 at 4:28 pm
Some of your pictures are inexplicably moving. It’s both pleasant and puzzling, and that’s really how i feel looking at this picture
May 24, 2013 at 4:40 pm
really love the dress, and her pose looks like a statue, what a nice pic!
May 24, 2013 at 4:48 pm
Love how her ensemble and the bench(?) look intentionally put together.
May 26, 2013 at 11:53 am
I’m so pleased you mentioned this sandy, as Scott has done another subtle and artistic capture of similar lines in the beautiful woman and the surroundings. It’s no accident the photo is cropped as it is, to allow the bench and lamppost to be a part of the complementary flow of the eye.
May 24, 2013 at 4:59 pm
I’m also picking up a care-freeness from her; almost like she woke up in her night slip(gown), threw on a pair of sneakers, grabbed a cardi, and went for a morning stroll. It’s quite refreshing.
May 24, 2013 at 6:30 pm
Great pic, Sart. Pity you didn’t get to shoot Mireia from MyDailyStyle, she’s from Barcelona and such a cool woman!
May 24, 2013 at 8:03 pm
Stunning photograph! Love the pose of that girl and the background.

Bar – Cel (sky) – Ona (wave) in catalan language. An angels city. Beautiful photo.
May 24, 2013 at 8:56 pm

May 24, 2013 at 10:04 pm
Extremely revealing/sexy and covered-up/sweet/innocent at the same time.
May 24, 2013 at 10:40 pm

May 25, 2013 at 12:37 am
Beautiful! The perfect depth of sheer – not quite/just about.
(It’s this kind of shot which make you the best, Sart).

I’m getting an early ’90s Jane March-in-a-bad-Bruce-Willis-movie vibe from this photo. Don’t do it Jane! Go back to acting school! Stay beautiful.

May 25, 2013 at 6:16 am
I absolutely love the simplicity of the dress and the shoes. But what makes her cool is the mini hair fountain on the top of her head.
May 25, 2013 at 7:41 am
I’m 16 and my high school is right there. Almost every single day, during the break between classes, we sit in those benches (so catalan modern style, so inspiring…). It’s awesome live in this city… there’s plenty of… everything (people, styles, cultures,…). I hope you enjoyed it!! (I would have loved to run into you there!). Very nice photo by the way! ;)
May 25, 2013 at 7:57 am
a bit too revealing and “look at me how innocent i am, haha” but still not over the top revealing. i do prefer modest, stylish shots though
May 25, 2013 at 9:12 am

May 25, 2013 at 2:58 pm
The Spanish style is so effortless and classy at the same time. Fresh and ready for summer!
May 25, 2013 at 3:52 pm
Lovely, minus the annoying topknot, the single most annoying trend of the year. Even worse on those with short hair. Men, especially, look so foolish. I wish I knew who to blame.
May 27, 2013 at 11:58 am
Couldn’t agree more, Andy. The topknot trend is even more annoying than the mustache graphic appearing on everything from finger tattoos to baby onesies.
But this shot is stunning nonetheless. Such gorgeous light.
May 27, 2013 at 10:31 pm
Andy, I must say, as annoying as the topknot may be, the nonchalantness (I may have just created that variation of the word) of this particular one IS refreshing. Yes, her hair is short and all of it is not captured in the knot. It’s messy, almost needing someone to say, “She needs to go comb her hair,” but my, oh, my does it lend to the awesome subject that IS this photo.
May 25, 2013 at 3:54 pm
My beautiful city, full of beautiful women.
Come to Sitges (where I live now) if you have the opportunity, you will also find beautiful shots and people.

This is the same street where we had an apartment when I first came to Barcelona for 9 lovely days (for a conference) and I first noticed how lovely a woman can look when her clothes fit perfectly. Even old women of modest means had clothing tailored to their size. And they looked magnificent. There was also something about dressing well and not being at war with yourself. I learned so much from that trip.I am happy to be reminded of all those lessons here in this one image. Thanks Scott!
May 26, 2013 at 3:53 pm
This picture leave me speechless
I love it
May 26, 2013 at 4:39 pm
What I love about this shot is the beauty and innocence–She has no idea how sexy and gorgeous she is– I love the way every pic you take tells a story. Who is she waiting for? Or what is she waiting for?
May 26, 2013 at 11:09 pm
Oh, I beg to disagree: you don’t dress like that when you’re gorgeous and sexy (or think you are anyway) !
May 26, 2013 at 7:32 pm
It’s the simplicity of both the style & the fabric that brings out the femininity & charm in the outfit. I’d love to see more dresses make like this. The runners are comparable to icing on a cake! Great photo & even better style!

Very nice photo:)
May 27, 2013 at 12:56 pm
The pose is so striking, and the contrast of the softness of her dress next to the ironworks is wonderful, like a living sculpture next to a sculpture. But what really makes this photo for me is the fact that the lighting makes her figure apparent through the ivory dress — like a Degas sculpture – so free and open and natural and sexy all at once. Simply no other outfit would have made the same shot – great eye, Scott!
