i’m imagining the story behind the pic :)

She looks amazing! Great photo!
May 10, 2013 at 11:11 am
I guess what enhances the setting, besides the fancy fence wrapping the corner, is the classy-simple trench with that slim black leather strap on the sleeve. Just great!

Very nice picture !

Really like the tonal balance on this one.

She is one cool & elegant New York’s girl and the composition+lighting is once again great. Scott you’re always an inspiration. Greetings from always sunny Greece!

I was just searching through all my favorite street-style blogs for something that didn’t have leather, spikes, heels, or printed pants. I’m so sick of the over-done look. This is a breath of fresh air. Good elements, but not showy.

Such a COOL picture…and I mean it literally…I can ALMOST feel the breeze myself! Love the heavy ironwork of the fence, and the contrast of her casually irreverent look propped against a church…powerful!

I love that corner — the darkness of the church with the glowing green light of the trees and plants never fails to make me pause and be transported.

That’s actually why I find this photo kind of heartbreaking… she’s surrounded by that beauty, but instead of connecting to and being transported by it, she’s pausing to be absorbed in a screen. (I’d also comment on how the photo also works as a brilliant visual metaphor for turning one’s back on actual social issues to focus on “social media,” but that would be cranky.)
May 10, 2013 at 3:09 pm
No, not cranky…trenchant.

It is time. The cell phone has got to go. You have insulted Mother Nature long enough. When the subject’s focus is the phone her/his style wilts.
May 13, 2013 at 12:32 am
Or more likely…she has probably seen that same fence post a million times and has no need to stare at it again. I could also say that when well meaning but otherwise unexceptional people start paying attention to social issues they act with their heart rather then their head and usually make things worse. As the naggy lady from “the Simpsons” so wonderfully put it; “But think of the children..”

Love her look!

I am wonderfully distracted by the background : the heavy wrought iron fence and the beautiful church stones but mostly, I am intrigued by the board’s announcement (What now ? Marriage equality for Presbyterians and everyone else) ???
By the way, I had a great time reading all the yesterday’s comments about “flip-flops”. Such passion !

Sorry, but for some reason I just can’t stand the look of girls in fully visible socks. That look is weird enough on guys, and even weirder on girls.
May 10, 2013 at 2:29 pm
Love her stance – effortlessly beautiful

I do not like the combination of the casual ripped shorts with the more formal coat.

Perfect place to stand for a pic! The coat makes this :)

it looks like a lovely day, wouldnt it be nicer enjoying the present rather than staring at a screen. it seems to be more commonly what people are doing in your pics when they arent on the move.

Wow! Lovely picture. The perfect street style.:)
May 12, 2013 at 3:15 am
That jacket looks photoshopped onto a Polish tourist’s outfit.
She’s wearing a print top whose sections don’t line up and some stonewashed jeans cut-offs with black ankle socks and Vans.
The jacket is quilted and ugly.
She’s pretty because she’s young.
This is bush-league stuff.

I used to live across the street from there when I was going to NYU. Wish she’d been there, ha! Lovely.

The scene is nice and I like the way she stands and is doing her thing. Only thing I would change is the fact that she’s standing with a dark coat in front of a dark background …she blends in too much. That coat deserve a bit more attention in my opinion.
Nevertheless, good photograph Scott. Still inspirational;)

I love how relaxed she seems, how natural and yet individual.
