Nice photo! Even with his skater style, he is so trendy: camo pants and checked shirt!

As a high school teacher, I see students dressed like this everyday. I find nothing particularly stylish or even interesting about it. I do however appreciate the artwork on the skateboard.
April 25, 2013 at 12:47 pm
Fun shot! The braided leather belt is a little preppy surprise!
April 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm
Love it! Another reason to love NYC
April 25, 2013 at 1:53 pm
The America jersey and Undefeated hat seal the deal on this one!
April 25, 2013 at 2:13 pm
J’adore the yellow shirt of the guy and of course his skate board:)

Love this shot, his expression says all!
April 25, 2013 at 6:44 pm
I see a lot of people downtown vancouver dressed like this. Lots of skaters here.
April 25, 2013 at 7:38 pm
Every skater I knew from high school dressed like this. That was 18 years ago & it’s all still the same. Skater style.
April 25, 2013 at 8:34 pm
I am like… almost proud.
April 25, 2013 at 9:38 pm
I love that you posted the time of day and place. It must have been a magical moment. Evenings usually are in New York.
April 26, 2013 at 3:05 am
There’s only so many ways skaters dress. This is basically their uniform.
April 26, 2013 at 4:51 am
IS THIS IT? models review
April 26, 2013 at 9:03 am
Yeees, let’s skate!!!
une chatte grise
April 26, 2013 at 1:03 pm
I really like the composition of this photo… the blues, reds, greys, and yellows echo each other without feeling “matchy.” Love the way his stance echoes the tree and telephone pole to his left, too. The young man himself looks cool and confident in his style, which is lovely. (And I like the camo print on his jeans!)
April 26, 2013 at 1:08 pm
Yahhh go Tsunami you look awesome as alwats Tommy!
April 26, 2013 at 2:13 pm
Yeah Tommy. This is so typical and so you. LOVE YOU TO DEATH KID. Keep DOIN’ you.
April 26, 2013 at 4:49 pm
Not a fan. maybe its the longboard?
April 27, 2013 at 12:24 am
Surely, there were real skateboarders at Union Square around that time. Those kids are always there working on their tricks. Why this guy holding a longboard?
April 28, 2013 at 7:34 am
love your pics!!
April 28, 2013 at 1:07 pm
Club América jersey! from México!
April 28, 2013 at 3:30 pm
finally skaters in streetstyle! please read my article on the skate in fashion!
May 5, 2013 at 11:21 pm
Arriba las Chivas, papahw!
May 29, 2013 at 9:55 am
It’s a longboard, not a skateboard – please don’t associate the two.
June 5, 2013 at 3:51 pm
Typical. It’s sad that skaters have to be associated with dirty looking longboarders like this clown. Look at this guy’s tired look: UNDFTD snapback, thrifted JNCO shorts, and dumbo-esque size of a gauge. I know the picture wasn’t posted to be criticized, but man… you don’t even need to be in New York too see this herb, they’re all over college campuses. I love all the looks you post, but not this generic example of an American kid. I mean… it’s New York! You guys have REAL street culture there with REAL people pioneering and pushing boundaries of street style.
Mark Gonzales, Jason Dill, Anthony Pappalrado, Gino Iannucci…and I’m only mentioning a few, but it’s a shame these cats are so elusive. Brand killers, hoarders, and hypebeasts have yet to learn from the real NYC streetwear icons I just mentioned.
Thanks for listening.

It sounds like just FREEDOM!
