Wonderful photo! Love the fur!
April 20, 2013 at 1:15 am
The best thing is the volume on those pants after all the painted on pants you see its so completely new. But the fur is the great finishing touch.
April 19, 2013 at 9:04 am
And yet she seems like she just effortlessly left the house, and through on some slipper and socks to match. I like it.
April 19, 2013 at 9:44 am
That’s so me… all put together, and still sporting the comfortable slippers
April 19, 2013 at 9:06 am
Beautiful coat! She definitely looks warm and comfortable
April 19, 2013 at 9:13 am
Too much to me!
April 19, 2013 at 9:14 am
Dressed to provoke. The socks and sandals are very deliberate and I’m on to her!!!! hahahaha
April 19, 2013 at 9:16 am
Annie Hall meets Sesame Street.
I love it (except for the sandals).
April 19, 2013 at 10:59 am
Hahahahah – Quote of the day!
April 19, 2013 at 11:40 am
agree, those Jesus slippers kill the set
April 19, 2013 at 1:39 pm
Agree ! I only loved her scarf …
April 19, 2013 at 3:40 pm
Nobody likes the ugly choice of sandals but not many dare to say :)
April 22, 2013 at 3:38 am
Agree! Just looks like she really worked hard to look like she didn’t!
April 19, 2013 at 9:21 am
Hat, nice… Scarf and coat, nice. Pants,ok, nice. Shoes…what?!?!??! In my hamble opinion, tragic. I see that combination (socks-sandals) by tourists travelling aroun in Greece and it’s not nice.
April 19, 2013 at 9:25 am
Come on guys, let’s buy her some real shoes…
April 19, 2013 at 9:35 am
Wow, I like that photo and her sweatercoat. Is soo nice.
April 19, 2013 at 9:38 am
April 30, 2013 at 5:15 pm
agreed. waaaaaayyyy to much here. tacky and obviously trying to hard to appear comfortable without appearing so.
April 19, 2013 at 9:41 am
She’s awesome and so bold, great shot.
April 19, 2013 at 9:43 am
love the pants in this lo0k!
April 19, 2013 at 9:47 am
vraiment trop cool, et…. les BIRKENSTOCKS!!!! c’est sur que vu comme ca, moi aussi j’en veux tt de suite!!!
April 19, 2013 at 9:48 am
So pleasant to look at, but she might consider two tone brogues rather than the sandal + sock disaster at her feet!
April 19, 2013 at 9:59 am
Beautiful outfit! Love the large checked pants!
April 19, 2013 at 10:11 am
Egads! Those faux fur (??) cuffs are awesome. What an easy make that would be on the sewing machine. And they wouldn’t cost a lot either. They would be such a great conversation piece. Everyone and their bro would want to ‘pet’ them while you’re waiting for the bus, train, get into the theater.
April 20, 2013 at 6:28 pm
yes, pet pet.
April 19, 2013 at 10:15 am
Honestly, it looks like she pulled on her coat and grabbed her camera because she was running late. Effortless? Obviously. Fashionable? Meh.

April 19, 2013 at 10:26 am
such an interesting style!
April 19, 2013 at 10:36 am
Worn with birks AND a great coat and hat. Why not ?
Still not for me with my petite frame I’d be lost in this outfit.
April 19, 2013 at 10:40 am
I mean, I get it- we’re at a point when chains, studs and leather are overdone and acceptable to wear; counterculture fashion has become largely mainstream. What direction is left for a young lady in the city to go (in terms of fashion) who is inclined to rebel? I’m from the Midwest and I see this look a lot, although worn without deliberation. Her saving graces are that she’s young, attractive, has a nice hat, and she’s holding an expensive camera. Without these, she could fit in at Walmart.
April 21, 2013 at 4:16 am
Astute comment! But isn’t that what personal (and well put together) style is all about – embracing your age (experience) and pulling it all together with something (even one thing) than sends a message you did this on purpose…?
April 19, 2013 at 11:00 am
IS THIS IT? models review
April 19, 2013 at 11:02 am
What a brave mix…
April 19, 2013 at 11:13 am
Well, if you trip on one of those metal racks and drop your camera, don’t say I didn’t warn you about putting the strap around your neck….probably didn’t want to crush that scarf.
Diva In Me
April 19, 2013 at 11:15 am
That’s a nice coat.
April 19, 2013 at 11:16 am
She looks really cool on this photo but I’m sure if I met her on the street I would think that she run away from the hospital in her pajamas a sandals with socks on:) The coat is awesome though
April 19, 2013 at 11:53 am
Interesting. When I wore plaid pajama pants on me 12 years ago I was just mocked. Now celebrating all the same here. Interesting.
And I still think it’s neat. Sometimes. :)
April 19, 2013 at 12:09 pm
Now she’s thrown down the Big Lebowski gauntlet, what ate we going to do about? I love her; she woke me up!

April 19, 2013 at 12:44 pm
wow…very very elegant….good shot!
April 19, 2013 at 1:00 pm
it’s a good picture… of a hobo chick (not chic) that just stole a camera, a coat, and a hat.
April 19, 2013 at 1:08 pm
Fur and black hats!
April 19, 2013 at 1:30 pm
oh come on. has all sense left the planet? she gets away with an absolutely shocking mismatched ensemble because she’s cute? it’s like an over long blog post with one good point, you end up acquiesing due to that one point and hating the rest.
lady – fantastic, gorgeous
hat, coat, camera, scarf – acceptable
birks, socks, baggy boyfriend pjs – total zeroes.
don’t even try to spin this overall look, it’s crap.
April 19, 2013 at 1:36 pm
Great shot. She just had no time for shoes . I am wondering what she was photografing ???
April 19, 2013 at 1:42 pm
April 19, 2013 at 1:50 pm
Well, I love the top 3/4 of her outfit. The clown pants and socks/Birks combo made me cringe!
April 19, 2013 at 3:00 pm
Exactly my thoughts! Way too sloppy.
April 19, 2013 at 2:26 pm
This look works because of the gigantic fur cuffs. I love birks and they’re okay here but a more fashionable but still unpredictable shoe would have worked better.
April 19, 2013 at 2:32 pm
Sorry Scott….I’ll need some enlightenment for this one.

April 20, 2013 at 5:31 am
Agree! Her hat and coat look good but the pants, socks and sandals are ridiculous.
April 19, 2013 at 3:19 pm
I … don’t … know ;-(
April 19, 2013 at 3:27 pm
April 19, 2013 at 3:53 pm
Is she wearing pyjamas?! haha! amazing!
April 19, 2013 at 4:30 pm
Looks like her pajama’s. Stunning!
April 19, 2013 at 8:47 pm
She looks likes she is convident and that’s why I like it
une chatte grise
April 19, 2013 at 11:37 pm
Reminds me of Pamela Des Barres and the GTOs. I kinda like it!
April 20, 2013 at 3:28 am
The coat and hat are grand but the clown pants and shoes are just part of modern irony that I bored to tears with.
April 20, 2013 at 6:55 am
OH boy! That’s what I call glamour, style, chic, powerful !
I love the hat like always, hats are a fashion for itself, and the pants are so “man in the 40s”, love the look and her pose.
April 20, 2013 at 8:11 am
Beetween Visconti and a clown. There she is.
April 20, 2013 at 9:24 am
Well…she is clearly not an accountant from Des Moines. Sometimes these pics seems so insular and exclusive …like pages of the cool kids in high school year books…but I guess that is part of the reason I come to this site.
April 20, 2013 at 4:04 pm
I dunno whether love it or hate it.. hmmm
April 21, 2013 at 3:17 am
Read all the comments and I think it works ..
April 21, 2013 at 5:27 am
I love this outfit. It has a very magical feeling that I can’t describe. :)
April 21, 2013 at 9:20 am
a beautiful style!
April 21, 2013 at 10:11 am
totally my style. amazing outfit you’ve caught here!
April 21, 2013 at 12:15 pm
Come on folks. If this photo were not taken by The Sartorialist, and if she were not holding an expensive camera, there wouldn’t be so much fawning going on here about an “amazing outfit.”
The coat is cut poorly, the pants look awful and are dragging on the ground and the socks & ‘stocks she’s slipped on make it look like she just snuck out to grab some smokes at the convenience store.
She’s otherwise probably attractive and is wearing a nice hat.
In my humble, independent opinion.
April 21, 2013 at 1:47 pm
Interesting from a fashion point of view, because none of the cliches are here. Birkenstocks? Socks with sandals? And loud big pants. Yet it works. I guess the day of skinny pants is behind us. Very ’80′s feel to it for me, especially the bottoms.
April 21, 2013 at 3:16 pm
This is not something many can pull off. But she can! http://www.flaircat.com
April 21, 2013 at 5:54 pm
Free sprit! The Paris flair.. LOVE it!
October 6, 2013 at 3:02 pm
I happen to love this look because it is free-spirited. It has no brand names on it, (except Birks) and it nods more towards individuality than anything else around. Fearless.
April 22, 2013 at 7:28 am
I used to do this sometimes.
This is when my mother would look me up & down and say…”darling, i know you are trying to provoke me…and its not working”
April 22, 2013 at 8:54 am
I think this photo was misplaced and should have been included with the photos before it on pajamas.

J’adore ces claquettes avec un manteau d’hiver.
C’est très anglais …
April 22, 2013 at 12:05 pm
I love everything about this women and her outfit except the “what will soon be” dirty socks and Birks. She is so 180 in her dressing for the moment and I love this so very much, she could have done much better with the shoes. I love the hat and the fur!
April 23, 2013 at 10:42 pm
Pants on the ground!

May 11, 2013 at 8:11 am
OMG… These pants and sandals with socks are ugly.
June 22, 2013 at 10:20 pm
What I love about this photo is that she is the “real Parisienne”. People think all you see there are thin, rich women in designer clothing. I lived there 3 years and this is a girl you would see at a cafe, she would ask “are you american?” and then you would be out for the night at a bar or restaurant with her and her friends. The artsy Parisiens I met and still know are so artsy, funky and just enjoy life. Just love the mood of this photo.
