I’m not sure I could get away with that at work, but hey…on the weekends, there are fewer rules!
April 18, 2013 at 10:29 pm
weekends I agree…but not sure how anyone outside of fashion world could get away with this in the real world
April 19, 2013 at 2:35 am

No No No!! It doesn’t work! I tried it in the late 80′s and it just can’t ever work! Watch for mega sales from J Crew getting rid of their stock.
April 18, 2013 at 4:35 pm
Fishing Lures!!! And are her pants tucked into those calf hugging boots??? Clever. :o)
April 18, 2013 at 4:37 pm

New Post on Purses in the Kitchen!
Pyjamas are a trend I am not really fond of!
April 18, 2013 at 4:39 pm
not bad !!! :)
April 18, 2013 at 4:47 pm
I think one ‘pajama’ piece can look cute in an outfit, but wearing a suit or something like that would make me feel walking in actual sleepwear on the streets. The upper two outfits and the lower one on the right are really cool. The outfit of the girl with the white blouse look a bit too sleepwearish for me.
April 18, 2013 at 4:49 pm
I don’t even wear pajamas to sleep!
April 18, 2013 at 5:02 pm
I am completely against people who wear pajamas out and about, if you are going to the store you can at least pull on jeans and a T shirt or a sweater. I like the first photo, which is the proper use of pajamas–sleeping or lounging around the house or perhaps the yard. I kind of like the guy with the suit on over his white dress shirt, though.
April 19, 2013 at 1:04 pm
I think the point here is that traditional pajama dressing is being inverted, and used in a purely artistic way that can make people think about what is “normal” everyday wear. For instance, there is nothing inherently wrong about wearing a top and bottom that match, or in wearing clothing made out of silk. I personally think this is just as appropriate (and probably more aesthetically pleasing) than wearing jeans and a t-shirt outside.

I once had some lime green hiphugger with polka dots all over them and people thought I was wearing pajama bottoms all day!
April 18, 2013 at 5:15 pm
Love the first pajama pants
April 24, 2013 at 12:21 pm
April 18, 2013 at 5:16 pm
I love the girl in the bottom left’s expression. It says, “Yes, I know I’m wearing pajamas”
April 18, 2013 at 5:17 pm
I’ve never previously thought about living in pajamas…but now I am. Thanks.
April 18, 2013 at 5:18 pm
I would like to know if anyone is actually thinking about this.
May 7, 2013 at 6:23 pm
Pardon my necro-posting.
Not only am I thinking about this, I am actually considering sliding this into my daily repertoire. But I also agree with many points said earlier: it’s probably best to use a single piece at a time. Call me crazy, but a khaki double-breasted blazer and slim fitting navy polka dot pajama trousers sounds seriously sharp.

pajamas are good to wear in night when you go to bed :) Cannot spend all day in pajamas…

Never in public. Very tacky :(
April 18, 2013 at 5:31 pm
I would wear Olatz Schnabel’s cotton pyjamas! Wonderful creations. Love the bottom left photo . . .

i do, i do, i do, i do, i do!!! :) :)
April 18, 2013 at 5:40 pm
As cute as those are- especially the bottom left- and as much as I would want to, I just couldn’t leave the house in full pjamas. I would feel too lazy. I have considered; however, wearing a pair of lace sleep shorts as lace shorts out in public- but haven’t.
April 18, 2013 at 5:43 pm
I love the first women’s outfit! So classy.

I like it!!! it’s an interesting trent
April 18, 2013 at 5:49 pm
Why is Homer Simpson—a true pajama-wearing icon—not represented here? Shocking.
April 18, 2013 at 5:51 pm
like the look, help w. shoes??
April 20, 2013 at 10:53 am
Fuzzy slippers? All department stores sell beautiful women’s house slippers and shoes that should work with with pyjamas. But why would you want to wear these out and about?
April 18, 2013 at 5:57 pm
Simone Marchetti’s op-art prints look like the perfect summer suit.
The epitome of comfort and style.
April 18, 2013 at 5:58 pm
Yes, that’s actually exactly what I’m thinking of right now.
April 18, 2013 at 6:14 pm
Love the navy pyjama bottoms top left!
April 18, 2013 at 6:15 pm
I don’t like a pajamas total look, people seem to have just woken up. The first outfit instead is perfect, the best idea is to use only one pajamas piece and mixed it with a other clothes.
April 18, 2013 at 6:18 pm
Interesting looks. Not sure if thats for me
April 18, 2013 at 6:27 pm

kw ladies in navy
Well, I have to say; they know how to wear pajamas on a stylish way.
April 18, 2013 at 6:37 pm
But they do look so chic and comfy! Love them!
April 18, 2013 at 6:40 pm
“Pajama-chic” is a trend I actually love. Comfy, but so much cooler than living in sweats! Really loving those silk polka-dot pants :)
April 18, 2013 at 6:52 pm
I love the mans especially. You have to be bold to do this. You can tell they are beautifully crafted, and the prints are very clever. The guy is very bold, and that makes me happy. He is just as crisp and professional somehow as if he had on a pin stripe suit!
April 18, 2013 at 6:58 pm
All beautifully styled.
April 18, 2013 at 7:28 pm
One of my LEAST favorite trends. Now all they need are the ridiculous Celine slipper shoes to complete the look. No thanks.
April 18, 2013 at 7:50 pm
I love your work…. really awesome!!!!
April 18, 2013 at 8:02 pm
I love your posts, have followed you for a long time… this is the first one that I find completely wrong in every way.
April 18, 2013 at 8:20 pm
Aw c’mon now – stop it…just stop it!
They all make it look so wonderfully matter-of-fact.
April 18, 2013 at 8:37 pm
I have always lobed pyjamas bottoms. Silk or satin. With a fitted T-shirt, and sandals…. Lovely! NOT the flannel plaid ones some people wear with Uggs… Urgh.
April 18, 2013 at 8:44 pm
I grew up in North Carolina.
In summer time, I was known to drive my brother to swimming lessons wearing my pajamas…. barefooted.
April 18, 2013 at 9:26 pm
Living in pajamas? It works for Julian Schnabel. But I’ll pass.
April 18, 2013 at 9:30 pm
Way to tacky! Pajamas are for home not in public. Why does everyone insist on being such slouches?

I love people that love all day pajamas. ; )
April 18, 2013 at 10:52 pm
Um, no. But at least these are classy pajamas! In my small town I actually do see a lot of people wearing pajamas around, but they’re fleece with Spongebob on them and the people are in their 20s at least!
April 18, 2013 at 11:52 pm
Style cross-pollination? Men and women in China have been rocking pajama chic for decades, despite government efforts to end it http://www.chinadecoded.com/2010/03/16/2010-expo-shanghai-residents-stop-wearing-pajamas-out/
I’d regularly see my neighbors walking up and down my Beijing hutong (narrow street) in their pjs.
April 19, 2013 at 12:20 am
No, no, no!
Not outside the house.
Isa tout simplement ...
April 19, 2013 at 12:59 am
Not totally fond of …. but I like the first one !
April 19, 2013 at 2:14 am
Nothing beats a comfy pj;-)
April 19, 2013 at 2:22 am
Can’t go there. Mom always said, get out of your pajamas unless you’re running a fever.
April 19, 2013 at 2:39 am
I´ve seen this in London sometimes.
Here in Germany this unthinkable. For sure!

April 19, 2013 at 4:05 am
Hmnn.. I’ll pass!
April 19, 2013 at 4:29 am
some are so cool!
April 19, 2013 at 4:41 am
I respect everything, and I don’t think we should wear something because it’s trendy… and this kind of “pijama on the street” thing is funny, and takes courage that maybe I don’t have.
great pics, but sorry, not my thing.
April 19, 2013 at 5:20 am
I think it can be very stylish when worn well and in these 4 cases that’s the case, love it!
April 19, 2013 at 5:30 am
I definitely approve!
April 19, 2013 at 5:36 am
I recall a friend telling me that schoolkids in Brooklyn started turning up at school in them, this was a couple of years ago; was this a street style that crossed over to slightly ridiculous effect?
April 19, 2013 at 6:09 am
In the UK, sections of the press characterise wearing pyjamas in public as a marker of being a feckless ‘scrounger’. How witty of the fashion world to turn it on its head.
April 19, 2013 at 6:22 am
A grown man walking around in pajamas?! I don’t think so!
Shanghai has a reputation for it’s citizens running around in pajamas!
April 19, 2013 at 6:34 am
Definitely. Still in mine this morning :-)
April 19, 2013 at 7:44 am
Love wearing pjs but these are too contrived.
April 19, 2013 at 9:40 am
Pajama-inspired is cool…actual pajamas draw a lot of attention to themselves. Probably best suited to the tall and willowy.
April 19, 2013 at 10:07 am
No to jammies on the streets
April 19, 2013 at 10:25 am
I love this look, Coco Chanel wore it all the time!
April 19, 2013 at 10:32 am
Not for me but, on the other hand, no more fuss in the morning in front of the closet deciding what to wear !

Funny, college students did this a decade ago here in the western U.S.; it’s kind of over now.
April 19, 2013 at 2:50 pm
If I could, I would!
April 19, 2013 at 3:01 pm
Oh, we humans are a strange bunch.
I’d bet that these chic people spent just as long, or longer, primping their pyjama outfits. Makes me laugh!
April 19, 2013 at 4:09 pm
A friend of mine sports a PJ every time he’s home (and also to pay visit to his neighbors, weird). In any case some printed summer pants may look like a pyjama, but they’re so comfy and can be so classy (first picture).

April 19, 2013 at 5:12 pm
I’ve always loved that trend…before it became a huge trend, while and even after I think there is something so subcosciously laid back and cool and glamorous at the same time…x
April 19, 2013 at 7:23 pm
Wearing your pajamas out in public is a sure sign of crazy. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
April 19, 2013 at 8:44 pm
Wasn’t it Lauren Hutton who made silk PJs la rigueur? I think it was– cream silk pjs at parties, she always looked so delish. Few can pull that look off, but thewoman reading, on the top left hand corner in the navy concoction works it with a chic that is so effortless that it is wonderful to see.
April 20, 2013 at 2:44 am
It can’t get any more casual :)
April 20, 2013 at 3:29 am
No! Non! Go get dressed!
April 20, 2013 at 5:05 am
A “style” pajama trousers e una white t-shirt is a wonderful outfit for a lazy summer day…
I never use pajama to sleep,do not feel comfortable.
The first and the third picture are my favorite!!!.
April 21, 2013 at 10:21 pm
Definitely agree and it’s super cute! White shirts are so lovely and simple :)
April 20, 2013 at 10:01 am
I don’t like the idea of PJs out of the house, but love the pair that guy is wearing. Next time someone mentions how ‘comfy’ their onsesie is I will direct them to that picture. Ha.
April 20, 2013 at 10:20 am
I like the one with the dog prints! I dont know if I would have the confidence to pull that off, but it does save time getting ready in the morning!!
April 20, 2013 at 1:53 pm
Adore pyjama pants, they’re so SO comfy to wear!
April 20, 2013 at 6:38 pm
Why? What next panties and bra set for summer brunch? No amount of designer cache will make it acceptable.
April 20, 2013 at 8:48 pm
April 21, 2013 at 5:22 am
OMG so comfy. Definitely worth a try! Especially the blue pyjama pants, it has an elegant twist to it.
April 21, 2013 at 8:30 am
April 21, 2013 at 11:46 pm
PJ detailing looks so cool. Real PJs,,,not too sure. One piece, especially worn with the nonchalance of the upper left shot. But the pajama suit on the guy, please no!
April 22, 2013 at 2:20 am
I have a recurring dream that i’ve left the house still only wearing pyjamas (British English that, what ho guv’nor!).
Now it seems that dreams can come true!
But i’d still feel like a bit of an idiot……

They all look relaxed and elegant. Love the color, pattern, and texture. So much more creative and playful than jeans and a t-shirt. I say yes! (on the weekend)
April 24, 2013 at 5:25 pm
At least you don´t have to change for bedtime…
April 25, 2013 at 3:38 pm
While I love the comfort of pajamas, I’m not about to buy a sleepwear suit. I’m not beyond reading in my pajamas at a cafe like the woman in the first picture. It sounds like a lovely way to spend a lazy Sunday morning.
May 1, 2013 at 3:19 am
Gotta love the jim jams. The guy looks amazing, so smart
May 16, 2013 at 6:38 pm
