In these cases her coolness definitely comes from the pop of yellow and orange she mixes with the earthy neutrals.

She is right on the very edge of over-coolness…which is very hard to get right…she knows how to balance it all so very well…I’d love to see her smile…she must have one of the best smiles!
March 19, 2013 at 10:03 pm
Exactly, perfectly stated.
March 19, 2013 at 3:23 pm
LOVE THE FUR VEST !!!!
March 19, 2013 at 9:15 am
She’s got her own style, always cool!
March 19, 2013 at 9:16 am
Love the coat on the 1st pic!
March 19, 2013 at 9:19 am
she does look cool! great inspiration for women who aren’t that young anymore :)
March 19, 2013 at 9:20 am
yes great style great face…
If that’s cool, then what is not??
March 19, 2013 at 9:22 am
What a beautiful woman. She looks intelligent and like she doesn’t suffer fools gladly. A mix of textures and patterns that would look horrible on someone else look original and creative on her.
I love her face and expression . . .
March 19, 2013 at 3:55 pm
oh yes! I totally agree, Michael.
really love her attidude – I think she’s european (:
March 20, 2013 at 7:35 am
Yes. She does not look like she suffers fools gladly. Well said. Its quite a luxury to have that sentiment. Most of us suffer them enough to pick our battles.
March 19, 2013 at 9:35 am
She looks very confident and that’s always attractive on anyone
I totally agree, so cool!
March 19, 2013 at 9:49 am
What I especially love is that she proudly wears her own face. No fiddling with her lips or eyes or erasing the character that only time and living gives a person. She is quite wonderful in my opinion.
March 19, 2013 at 9:57 am
Yes, she does. It’s great to see a woman of a certain age with such fantastic cool style. Love it!
March 19, 2013 at 9:58 am
Ah …shades of the wonderful Charlotte Rampling…. also a little of Anna Magnani … THIS is astunning woman…evry beautiful face full of character… love her !!
March 19, 2013 at 11:01 am
Yeah….She also reminded me of Charlotte Rampling. Specially on the third photo.
March 19, 2013 at 10:03 am
Being an Italian I am not that impressed.
THE STEL STYLE
March 19, 2013 at 10:10 am
her style is classic but she has something fresh and different!!! I love it!!!
March 19, 2013 at 10:20 am
I love the plaid sweater, something I’ve wanted to create in the hand knitting world. Some knitters have taken striping yarn and done what’s called “planned pooling” to get a plaid print. That would be cool to get a sweater that way without hand sewing stripes on afterwards. FWIW, you see more ‘plaid’ sweater patterns in the 1930s and 1940s, not so much now. Not as much interest in plaid?
March 19, 2013 at 10:21 am
I really like her style and the last one is great.;
Bonnie, Clyde + Marni
March 19, 2013 at 10:24 am
Love her style!!
March 19, 2013 at 10:29 am
I like her near-adrogynous style a lot. She’s bold with pattern and combines them intriguingly.
I am incredibly find of the first houndstooth pattern on her coat. It is very similar to a scarf that once belonged to my father.
The last look is interesting – the bold checked patterns and furry vest.
March 19, 2013 at 10:30 am
Love her prints.
March 19, 2013 at 10:31 am
everything was fine until I stopped at the third photo! I think I read in the face of Carola a little bit of suspicious, will that has been caught with a real fur gillet in!!! .would be more cool without fur, in my opinion!
Ps: do not you take a picture you have made a wonderful”ritratto”, what a luxury for her!
Handbags and Purses
Great outfits. They look warm.
This is the proof that style has no age! I’d like to see more!

March 19, 2013 at 10:38 am
It’s in the mix! My favorite is the last look, love the combination of different checked prints and the fur vest. Also first and second looks are grate, especially love the colors she combines.
March 19, 2013 at 10:43 am
Reminds me of Charlotte Rampling.
Love her unique way of putting together pieces from her wardrobe.
Not too overtly ‘FASHION !’ but understated chic and yes, cool, intelligent.
She dresses like a grown up woman who wears what she wants, mixes pieces in ways that please her and follows fashion with her own mind.
March 19, 2013 at 11:00 am
She is very self confident. Minimal makeup and not alot of foo-foo to her hair. Women of all ages could take a lesson.
March 19, 2013 at 11:23 am
She is very elegant and stylish, but wearing a smile would make her more beautiful:)
March 19, 2013 at 11:41 am
She does look really cool and amazing at all times!
March 19, 2013 at 11:54 am
Love her style!! She is definitely very cool looking! I think my fav is the last pic ;)
March 19, 2013 at 11:59 am
The last fit s definitely my fave, even though she looks amazing in them all
March 19, 2013 at 12:09 pm
Love the patterns on each woman!
March 19, 2013 at 12:22 pm
She looks like Audrey Tautou in the second picture :-)
March 19, 2013 at 12:41 pm
Finally a woman my age, so inspirational, I can not take my eyes off the photos, please Scott find other stylish women around this age, they are rare. Thanks for all your wonderful work.
March 19, 2013 at 12:50 pm
Good style….but she doesn’t look very happy in any of the otherwise lovely photos.
March 19, 2013 at 12:51 pm
She really does
The Eiffel Fashion
March 19, 2013 at 1:04 pm
Gorgeous, but especially because she doesn’t look self-conscious about her age. And enough with people suggesting that she smile. Would we do that with a man?
Great pics; thanks for letting us see them.
March 19, 2013 at 3:50 pm
Thank you Dora. My thoughts exactly. If a woman is not smiling or doesn’t have a very soft facial expression, I noticed there are always comments that she should smile, or that she’s having a bad day, looks mean, etc. I very rarely see such comments when it’s a man, though.
March 19, 2013 at 6:02 pm
Yes, we would say the same with a man. For the record, there are only two comments at the moment suggesting she might smile. Though my comment has not appeared, I simply framed it in the context of how many comment favorably when someone on here does have an especially nice smile.
March 20, 2013 at 6:14 am
I don’t understand, why would she be self conscious about her age?
March 20, 2013 at 11:19 am
@sophie: I love your comment. You are absolutely right! Thank you and thank you. :-)
March 19, 2013 at 1:17 pm
shes got very charming eyes and wreckless
March 19, 2013 at 1:25 pm
She has a total cool, effortless look about her

So totally stylish and yet there is not the least hysterical hint of fashion victim about her. On the contrary, her clothes actually look comfortable.
I wish I could see more people like her on your page. I bet you’d love to post their photos – if you could find them…

great style, no make-up. I just love the way she looks strong. http://madrilicious.com
March 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm
Charlotte Rampling/Greta Saatchi – inspirational and unaffected. PLEASE show more stylish, cool women happy in their own skin.
March 20, 2013 at 4:46 pm
I agree with you – this women is beautiful and would like to see many more like her.
March 19, 2013 at 2:13 pm
…and what about her shoes? would die to have a glance…
March 19, 2013 at 2:21 pm
I love especially the first and last picture. She has style, class, personality and she is beautiful and very sexy.
Greetings from a cold Amsterdam.
March 19, 2013 at 2:37 pm
she has such a great sense of color and i love the way she mixes textures and prints. very cool indeed.
March 19, 2013 at 2:42 pm
Only in Milan will you get that face, that exact frowning, on the 3rd picture.
March 19, 2013 at 3:25 pm
I love everything she’s wearing, she pulls it of so well. And her face. Her face is stunning.
March 19, 2013 at 3:28 pm
Another beautiful portrait.
March 19, 2013 at 3:41 pm
I love her pants in the second picture. I haven’t seen trousers like this in awhile. She seems very confident, very put together without looking strained about it. I like it.
March 19, 2013 at 3:45 pm
What an amazing style!
March 19, 2013 at 4:01 pm
Cool mix of colors and fantasies!
Stylish as usual!
March 19, 2013 at 4:22 pm
I love these shots. She looks strong and free. I’m a makeup geek so I’m really impressed by how good she looks without bothering with that. There’s an independence and integrity about just leaving your face alone and being as you are.
March 19, 2013 at 4:25 pm
The yellow detailing is perfection!!
March 19, 2013 at 4:43 pm
so cool and love her name ;) eheheh
xo from Milan!

What fabulous nonchalance.
March 19, 2013 at 7:05 pm
Great colours and she’s obviously confident in her choices and happy with her style which I love. Can we have a bit less of the slightly patronising ‘older woman / woman of a certain age’ references in the comments!
March 19, 2013 at 8:27 pm
what a face
March 19, 2013 at 9:44 pm
love her. superb. the epitome of cool in my book. I enjoy very much seeing women my age photographed by you.
March 20, 2013 at 12:01 am
she needs to smile.
March 20, 2013 at 7:38 am
Actually; NO. Not everyone needs to paint on a smile for the public. She obviously doesn’t.
March 20, 2013 at 12:14 am
I am in love with this. Thank-you. A real kick-ass woman with a real face, this is inspiration. I love your photos and discovered them as photography before I discovered them as “fashion photography;” both ways are a delight.
March 20, 2013 at 5:41 am
Love her! Finally a non-poser attitude (and a cool look, too).
March 20, 2013 at 5:54 am
Amazing combination of textures and prrint! I like it!
March 20, 2013 at 6:42 am
Who is this woman? What does she do? Fascinating . . .
March 20, 2013 at 6:46 am
I love her style. It is cool, understated yet bold in a bohemian kind of way. Best of all is though the fact that she shows real character in her face. Beautiful.
March 20, 2013 at 6:58 am
love her first trousers!
March 20, 2013 at 7:21 am
The watch is the class that draws the eye.
Great style, great expression.
March 20, 2013 at 7:41 am
nice style! but I just dont like the colors..

March 20, 2013 at 8:41 am
I am curious as to what’s on her feet. Any guesses? And as far as the smiling goes–it’s perfectly ok if she doesn’t, but on women of this age (and I am one) smiling lifts the face and generally makes it look a whole lot better.
March 20, 2013 at 11:17 am
Thank you, she is fabulous! In the states, it seems middle-aged women have two choices: “mutton dressed as lamb” or “overweight matron”. This lady shows everything we see in the states is not the whole picture. She is classy, elegant, confident, and (pardon the use of the this tired old yarn) “comfortable in her own skin”. No plastic, gaudy jewelry, artful use of plaids, easy pieces that could have been found on a sale rack at a thrift as well as in the chi-chi-est boutique, put together in an individualistic way as to personally suit the wearer. And her hair! Not dyed/streaked/extensioned/helmut-headed. Subtle make up, if any. Thank you for again presenting us with a choice; those of us who feel we have no choice and no voice in the way we dress. She makes a statement just by being. We should all be so fortunate.
March 20, 2013 at 6:18 pm
Lovely style. She reminds me of Audrey Tatou.
March 20, 2013 at 9:56 pm
Loved her attitude.
What happened to the third picture?
March 21, 2013 at 7:51 am
See… You can wear a fur vest without looking like Rachel Zoe.
March 21, 2013 at 3:26 pm
un sourire, ce n’est pas gratuit
March 21, 2013 at 4:31 pm
Don’t like the fur, of course, but I like the fact that she has wrinkles AND is beautiful. Way to go in that very–too superfial world !
March 22, 2013 at 6:04 am
She reminds me of Renata (forgot her surname, but the beautiful Italian woman also).
March 22, 2013 at 9:42 pm
Did anyone notice this woman looks like a mature version of Audrey Tautou ? What an authentic style and expression, that definitely transcends time and age.
March 24, 2013 at 10:00 am
two great looks!
March 29, 2013 at 5:21 am
She looks like a grown-up, bittersweet Amelie Poulain!
I love it!
