I don’t care what anyone says. The oversized coat and hat combo is wonderful. Every time I see it I like it more. The best thing is that it means the lady is confident. Confident=sexy.
Oohhh, I wish I could pull off a wide-brimmed hat, loose coat, and wide-legged pants like this woman … she is clearly tall enough. At 5’1″, I’d look like a TOADSTOOL. Hahahaha
I love the combination of style and ease of this outfit!
Now this oversized coat (vs. the one yesterday) looks neat and intentional. It is also proportionately paired with her footwear, trousers and hat. A+++
I was here, Les Tuileries, exactly 35 years ago, today. The sky was just as gray and it was just as cold. I had on a very stylish black cashmere coat my mother had purchased some 20 years before in her fashionable working world 20′s. It was more like a draping black cape with arms and although I’m sure I must have had some high school garb underneath it, you couldn’t really tell as I strolled feeling like a native across the Tuileries enroute to the Louvre eatin an ice cream cone. The best I ever had.
Thank you! That is exactly why I love clothes! How a piece of cloth melts with you and the situation you are in, is a part of your experience, your life. I bet you didnt think about the coat at that special moment, 35 years ago, but you must have been aware of wearing it, just like being aware of the skies, the ice cream and your lucious plain existence, because in your memory it is significant part of the picture. Sounds like a perfect abandon-alertness-moment, in other words: flow. And then style is probably a sub-category of flow.
Cissy, what a beautiful emotional landscape! Thanks for sharing. I’ve numerous photos of myself, through the ages, in awesome coats strolling through Les Tuileries.
She looks like an Anne Demeulemeester girl.
The contrast of her darker outfit against the lighter background is beautiful.
(Les Tuileries ! Mon Paris !)
Love the hat, I miss hats in the town I live, I should have a trip to London with lots of monney in my pockets, and buy more of them. Hats are wonderful, but I agree some people just don’t put them on because they don’t suit them that much.. but they should find the good ones!
see you
