Got such a kick out of this post! Talk about a transformation! Love it. And that coat is perfect either way.
March 11, 2013 at 3:12 am
If you look closely same pants and dot shirt as well. She looks gorgeous without the makeup and natural hair.
March 11, 2013 at 9:42 am
Bravo for having a great perception Anita!
I was just about to write the same but I saw you already did!
so I’ll just say- agree!
She looks so modelish and grunge perfect now!
Ok, I’m a liar blog

Just Like Princess Mombi in the Land of Oz. She wore the same flowing white dress at all times as she had no interest in clothing and needed something simple to match her collection of different beautiful heads. Beautiful heads that she collected from people. But Mombi was nice enough to give the victims one of her old cast off heads in exchange….I suppose most kids never read the Oz books now they have Harry Potter. A shame.

Very good eyes. But the pants don’t look the same to me. They are lighter on the right hand side picture…unless they got that way from laundering, of course. Regardless, amazing that you noted the shirt.
May 6, 2013 at 4:06 pm
That’s exactly what I was going to say! I’m not super sure about the pants…but basically they’re the same model, even if they’re slightly different colors.
March 11, 2013 at 3:16 am
That kind of versatility speaks volumes to me!
March 11, 2013 at 3:23 am
But she look really perfect. I like her darker hair. Have a ncie monday.
March 11, 2013 at 3:24 am
Great! I get your ‘joky’ idea… I can’t be caught wearing the same coat, shirt and jeans… within a year even if I change my hair?? :-) xoxo
This is amazing.
March 11, 2013 at 3:26 am
if u didn’t mention it, i wouldn’t have noticed it! :)
March 11, 2013 at 3:27 am
Fantastic pictures. Really love this post!!!
March 11, 2013 at 3:29 am
She looks amazing! Beautiful hair color on first photo!
March 11, 2013 at 3:32 am
and i love that she’s wearing the same polka dot shirt underneath! her jeans even look the same… a different sweater and hair/make-up makes such a difference here. both looks are great!
March 11, 2013 at 3:35 am
I like her new look

March 11, 2013 at 3:38 am
I am obsessed with the more polished look as a contrast to the simple neutral coat. I think she needs more of a contrast as in the first photo! But ultimately both look very very good and if I had that chiseled face, I wouldn’t give a damn one way or the other!!!!!
-Lauren at adorn la femme
It’s the same blouse and the same pants as well! (Which really just makes it all the more amazing that she totally changed the tone of the entire outfit with just a sweater, accessories, makeup and hair)
March 11, 2013 at 3:41 am
Dramatic change actually, still she’d shine on more in a different outfit , maybe more classic …
Looks also like same shirt and same trousers.
Hopefully the one on the right is her most recent look.
March 11, 2013 at 3:43 am
Same shirt and trousers too, apparently.
I like the one on the right the most, hopefully it’s the most recent.
March 11, 2013 at 3:53 am
and same shirt
March 11, 2013 at 3:56 am
she looks better now :)
March 11, 2013 at 3:59 am
same shirt too!
March 11, 2013 at 4:00 am
Love both the look! But the colours in the second picture compliments the coat!
Same jeans, same shirt.
March 11, 2013 at 4:03 am
Same jeans? Same shirt?
March 11, 2013 at 4:05 am
Same shirt and pants too!
March 11, 2013 at 4:06 am
Wow, that´s change! But I still don´t know, what I like more. Definitely coats, that will last forever. Arg, anyway, both are pretty good!
March 11, 2013 at 4:08 am
Incredible! Is she even wearing the same chambray underneath?!

Amazing how she changed!
March 11, 2013 at 4:25 am
Wow, I like her new look much more, so natural! :)
March 11, 2013 at 4:28 am
Apart from the hair and make up I don’t find her look very different..! the vibe is the same to me.
March 11, 2013 at 4:29 am
I really love right girl!
March 11, 2013 at 4:32 am
…same shirt, same trousers… :)
March 11, 2013 at 4:35 am
great in gray!
March 11, 2013 at 4:39 am
Same coat, same shirt, same pants…totally different look!
March 11, 2013 at 4:43 am
Has she started smoking or stopped smoking?
The smoker look has my vote with red lips.
THE STEL STYLE
March 11, 2013 at 4:45 am
love this coat!!!
March 11, 2013 at 4:50 am

Bonnie, Clyde and Marni
March 11, 2013 at 4:54 am
I think she is wearing the same polka dot shirt too!!! Love both outfits!!
March 11, 2013 at 4:55 am
Very cool! Isn’t the shirt underneath her sweater the same/similar to the one in the first photograph?
March 11, 2013 at 4:58 am
Her look remains casual but the most striking difference is her hair (colour and style). It makes all the difference imo..
March 11, 2013 at 4:59 am
Amazing shot… Same Girl, same Coat, looks like same pants and same polkadot shirt. The blonde hair looks better…
March 11, 2013 at 5:08 am
March 11, 2013 at 5:19 am
Same shirt and same jeans…. Fantastic!
Much better with the darker hair.
March 11, 2013 at 5:23 am
I think is also wearing the same pants :) Love the blond hair!
March 11, 2013 at 5:24 am
Wow! Very compelling compare / contrast!
March 11, 2013 at 5:26 am
Wow! what a great idea! I prefer hey “natural” look!
March 11, 2013 at 5:34 am
I must say, I totally love the first look! She is a cool girl and she can’t look bad anyway but I find the second look dull.
March 11, 2013 at 5:35 am
And same shirt ? ;-)
March 11, 2013 at 5:36 am
cool, love her as a brunette the most.
Same coat, same shirt. same pants. Great looks though.
March 11, 2013 at 5:37 am
Same coat, same shirt, same pants – great looks though.
March 11, 2013 at 5:38 am
Is she wearing the same shirt, too??
Great bone structure.
Is she wearing the same shirt, too?
Great bone structure
March 11, 2013 at 5:41 am
It’s the same polka dot shirt too, right? The change in hair/makeup makes a big difference in the impression given off as well~.
March 11, 2013 at 5:42 am
Also looks like same shirt and same trousers. Incredible how irrecognizable can be just changing hair and make up.
March 11, 2013 at 5:43 am
Nice coincidence and beatiful coat!
john b pritchett
March 11, 2013 at 5:45 am
Coat looks good though she looks a little haggard in the 2nd photo. Is she a friend? How did you find her after a year?
March 11, 2013 at 5:48 am
i LOVE her carven sweater. want to get my hands on one
March 11, 2013 at 5:49 am
Whoa, what a difference. Hard to recognize that it’s the same person.
Have a great new week.
From Boho to Chiic
March 11, 2013 at 5:56 am
The same coat but different style! ;)
March 11, 2013 at 6:01 am
Wow what a huge difference!!! The make up and hair style did a great trick!
March 11, 2013 at 6:02 am
same pants, same shirt, too! only thing changed really is the lipstick and the hair. and yes, the impact is huge, she looks like a different person.
March 11, 2013 at 6:05 am
same shirt too? Nice one!
March 11, 2013 at 6:07 am
Also same shirt and trousers.
Very cool comparison.
March 11, 2013 at 6:08 am
Almost unrecognisable! And she’s even wearing the same shirt underneath!
Same shirt as well!
March 11, 2013 at 6:12 am
Who is she???? I adore her style
And same shirt !
March 11, 2013 at 6:28 am
She looks so different with this hairstyle and red lips! But the eyes are really recognisable! I like her better now, on the second photo.
March 11, 2013 at 6:29 am
Wow. Just wow….
Same blouse even! Love both looks
March 11, 2013 at 6:36 am
same shirt and jeans even!
March 11, 2013 at 6:42 am
Wow, this is pretty fascinating.
March 11, 2013 at 6:52 am
before and after makeup
March 11, 2013 at 6:53 am
she will forever have great style!
March 11, 2013 at 6:54 am
And no cigarette! I do prefer the blonde hair with the darker outfit but no butt always wins with me.
March 11, 2013 at 6:58 am
And the same shirt, if I’m right?
March 11, 2013 at 7:01 am
Same coat, same polka dot shirt (?), similar pants. If you didn’t say it’s the same girl, I wouldn’t have noticed! Aaaaaaaaa amazing!
Linda Boardman Kerr
March 11, 2013 at 7:02 am
She looks amazing in both of these. Love the asymmetrical bottom of the gray sweater with blouse peeking out.
March 11, 2013 at 7:08 am
Is this planned? or did you recognize her or she came up with “remember me? I’m the girl year ago. ”
Just curious. :-)
March 11, 2013 at 7:18 am
I actually only recognized the coat in relationship to her general height, very abstract . After I took the shot I asked if she had been on my blog about a year earlier and she said yes.
March 11, 2013 at 9:12 am
It’s often amazing how photographic a photographer’s memory gets without realising it.
March 11, 2013 at 7:15 am
i can’t decide which one I like better! the both looks are charming!
March 11, 2013 at 7:25 am
Real fashion, from real people and affordable. No more fashion from rich people or fashion editors please.
March 11, 2013 at 7:47 am
Same shirt too!
of course different look, but love both. http://www.fashioncraz.com
March 11, 2013 at 7:55 am
Ohmygosh, unbelievable! Such a huge change, and can’t believe you managed to shoot her twice with the same coat a year apart!
March 11, 2013 at 8:01 am
I think she just found herself so beautiful in your picture that she has never changed, she is dressed like that even in summer… :)
Judith A. Ross
March 11, 2013 at 8:22 am
I’m guessing the photo on the left is the more recent. The coat is missing a button that it isn’t in the other photo. Either way, I love her style.
March 11, 2013 at 3:42 pm
I drew the same conclusion ~
March 11, 2013 at 8:23 am
I would kill for a simple sweater with a great color combination like the one in the second photograph…so hard to find it. Brilliant pictures.
March 13, 2013 at 10:10 am
That’s a Carven sweater, FYI.
March 11, 2013 at 8:50 am
She looks even better today–and that’s saying a lot. Oh wait. You’re talking about fashion. Carry on.
March 11, 2013 at 8:55 am
…Same pants, same shirt….Clever girl.
March 11, 2013 at 9:15 am
Also same trousers and same shirt?
It seems so.
March 11, 2013 at 9:19 am
greit! simply greit!
March 11, 2013 at 9:33 am
In my opinion the first look is better, not just for the cloth but the make-up and hair, so chic that platinum hair and red lipstick!!!
I’m guessing that the blond is more recent…That she’s worn the coat so much that she’s lost a button. Please let us know. Great post!
March 11, 2013 at 9:36 am
Glad she found the missing button and sewed it back on!
March 11, 2013 at 9:49 am
Whoa! Love both her looks, but what a transformation!
March 11, 2013 at 10:03 am
still smoking hot.
March 11, 2013 at 10:37 am
I prefer the hot red lips look for some reason and the interplay of the grey textures (coat, knit cable sweater, etc). For me, this layered look of one color, different textures has more depth, and I love the boldness of the red lips. And somehow I like her hair blonde…the darker hair and the no-make up look makes her look tired somehow. A pop of color on the face would be great and powerful.
Also the same button up.
March 11, 2013 at 10:56 am
Wow, such an amazing transformation. Its great that you caught on to it.
March 11, 2013 at 11:00 am
There are some pieces that never disappear form the wardrobe. I have an M-65 field coat that has followed me for years. I just can’t part with it.
The eye-make up is the same, as well as the jeans and shirt. I don’t believe this is a year apart photo.
March 11, 2013 at 11:08 am
I like her before hair/no makeup look I think…….less servere
March 11, 2013 at 11:44 am
March 11, 2013 at 11:53 am
i adore this post. i love how one piece of clothing can look so different come another day
March 11, 2013 at 12:13 pm
she got her missing button resewed in the second photo!
Local & Opulent
March 11, 2013 at 12:27 pm
stunning girl, great coat
March 11, 2013 at 12:50 pm
Always a fan of image reinvention! In this case, I think it is even more powerful considering the repeated items. So glad you captured this!
March 11, 2013 at 1:53 pm
Wauw. What a difference! I wonder which picture is of this year..
March 11, 2013 at 2:37 pm
She is a beauty!
March 11, 2013 at 2:38 pm
Hmm can’t decide which look i prefer. The first one is more bold and with attitude- red lipstick and very blonde hair stand out. The second natural look n colourful jumper make her look younger…she looks good in both!
March 11, 2013 at 2:54 pm
I love this! She must be a model. The outfits are so cute, but I the total chameleon effect is the most striking thing. Both looks appear like they are the perfect one for her, though I have to say I am partial to the sleek ultra-blonde. If you can pull that off, it’s hard to beat.
March 11, 2013 at 3:51 pm
Oh wow …. cool. Such a difference. My initial preference was for the look on the left – more “fashiony”, more “fab” – I do love hair and makeup. But with her bone structure (model?) she looks great on the right for the “natural beauty” look. Either way, she looks great and I love her style (again – preference for the outfit on the left).

March 11, 2013 at 3:56 pm
This is a perfect illustration of the difference between style and fashion. This young woman, it seems, has real style–she knows what works for her and what her look is. She can then work from that base to play with fashion-y elements and change things up while still staying true to herself. I’ll bet that she’ll still have that coat in 10 years–and she’ll still be wearing it beautifully.
March 11, 2013 at 5:42 pm
She is amazing. Not beautiful, not pretty, not elegant JUST AMAZING. That figure & cheekbones. Of course her outfits & hair changes are amazing but on someone more ordinary, somehow would not look anywhere near as chic.
March 11, 2013 at 5:52 pm
her name is alison nix. I like her as a model. She is blond now. The second picture is the one from last year.
March 11, 2013 at 6:23 pm
Is this Alison Nix? She radiates a very nonchalant confidence.
March 11, 2013 at 6:25 pm
Oh wow, this is so cool! Definitely prefer the more recent shot, her hair color suits her much more!
March 11, 2013 at 10:33 pm
Just goes to show the value of investing in great pieces!
March 12, 2013 at 2:10 am
Also same pants and I think even blouse! wow very nice
March 12, 2013 at 4:28 am
Phenomenal! Brilliant how different she looks, inspires us all to completely change it up from time to time.
March 12, 2013 at 6:26 am
same jeans, same shirt actually :|
March 12, 2013 at 9:09 am
She looks great in both, but I like her natural look!
March 12, 2013 at 2:36 pm
So cool and so different! There’s nothing like a well loved coat that fits in all the right places and I love old worn in tweed. You can never just buy that look as it takes time, wear, tear and a lot of love! x
March 12, 2013 at 5:38 pm
both look gorgeous!
March 13, 2013 at 1:12 am
totally different! x
March 14, 2013 at 3:09 am
Wow. How could you realize that the woman is the same?
March 14, 2013 at 7:27 am
Silly though that her coat is missing a button on the old pic but not on the new pic.
Because of that it looks like the dark-haired pic is old and the blonde one new.
March 16, 2013 at 1:08 pm
It seems to me that she’s also wearing the same pants and the same shirt! :p
March 16, 2013 at 8:37 pm
I’d love to see more of such comparisons. It’s very inspiring.
March 18, 2013 at 3:32 pm
She has a great taste in knit..
March 19, 2013 at 2:21 pm
Any idea what make of the coat is? I wish I could find something similar…
April 5, 2013 at 5:17 pm
I love this! Absolutely beautiful.
I see she’s sans cigarette a year later, kudos to her if she kicked the habit.
April 9, 2013 at 8:26 am
she is so fragile!
June 2, 2013 at 8:52 am
Woww what a cool change!
August 12, 2015 at 9:31 pm
Would like to know the designer of the coat and who makes the tan canvas
bag with black trim? She looks beautiful in the picture on the right with
