I suppose that actually, you hate my comments, but unfortunately I have to say you: I realy realy love MARNI !, I have sold with great pleasure at the beginning of my career. BUT ,REAL FUR AGAIN NO!. There is not in this world a designer/woman who does not want to wear a faux fur???
ps: Your photos are fab.

I like your comment because it points up that even though certain designers have different client types, when they are so in touch with their customer it shows. Like Alber at Lanvin, Marc at Vuitton and Karl at Chanel; they know exactly what to serve up each season.
I have to say that I really like the nature prints on the dresses and can see that each peice is really well thought out. I like the other interesting details too like the fur stole being belted in with the jacket and those black pony hair and gold shoes – Love!

There are some really gorgeous coats, I especially love the last one, in leather!

i’m with commentator Eva on the real fur.
there is just no justification in the world for it –
if indeed Marni’s using real.
in other news, i just completely love this dress, the print, the length.

Me? I’m all about the bits of faux fur we’re seeing all over the place. Fur adds some softness, and in a way, stimulates hair. Wear it close to your face, fur makes it look like you have more hair than you really do. Besides, it’s really tactile. People want to approach you with, “Can I touch your fur? It looks so soft.” Knitters will especially want to do this. Faux fur makes you more approachable, friendlier..and shows you don’t yourself too seriously.

Fur makes you more approachable? By an angry PETA activist with a can of paint? Yikes! No thanks, I’ll stick with the faux.

I’m with you. The fur is a bit of overkill. Literally and figuratively. Especially the belted piece.

Wow the random use of fur is stunning! Seems like fur is really going to be in this Fall/Winter!

Furry tribal mourning. Interesting. Loving the leather.

….was Marni not a fur house to start with? So ..but maybe it could move on…there are hundreds, maybe thousands of clever inventive factories in China and elsewhere, producing wonderful, desirable fake fur textiles. Marni, and the other houses currently using so much real fur surely could keep up with the technology and use those…
Marni give us some of the most beautiful clothes anyone could wish for..it would be great if they removed this subtext of pain and cruelty from their collections…..

Fur/Leather I can live with or without; but I would never wear those ugly shoes, what’s up with that?
March 4, 2013 at 12:45 pm
Your picks from this show are an overlap of my own, which makes me very happy!
Can’t WAIT to see you takes from CDG and Givenchy next!!!!!

I’m not a huge fan of the fur mixed in with the prints, but the latter as always are fantastic.

To discuss the fur topic I suggest for a start to read To die for by Lucy Siegel. It is a critical book on fashion but celebrates fashion at the same time.

As a guy, I can’t relate to these clothes at all. The best I can do is tell you that they make the women wearing them totally unappealing to me. I guess if you are dressing just to amuse yourself or for other women, this might work, but don’t look to get a date in this stuff. Thanks.

I’m with dc above, and I’m a girl. This collection is Ugly.

PS. Why such a fuss on furs and leather? Everyone is using it. There is no ethic in anything on sale in the market. It’s terribly sad but true. Live with it. Or buy a cachmere goat and shear it only while a masseur is performing shirodara on it so not to cause it any distress.
