Wow, so inspiring! I would have been breathless if I’d been there. Takes me back to my childhood dress up box, so many memories and desires in just a few outfits, genius.
I love this collection! The inspiration behind it – late 50′s early 60′s Paris – is such a youthful, exciting era! Everything was new and about youth… She makes this her own in quintessential Anna color and pattern. Too bad it’s so hard to find in the stores now…
Anna has conjured up looks out of old Black & White French Films from the 60s! Typically Anna sees everything in colour and what a beautiful colour palette it is too. The show was amazing from start to finish, I particularly love the talented models dancing when the lights came on – Inspired!
Amazingly, loved the way how colors play off well with each other…Also not to forget , the vintage flair of 70s is very remarkable… http://www.ottomandandy.com
The colors of Anna Sui never stop changing, do they! Definitely one of my favorites, as always. . . I truly agree with Pantone that emerald will be the “hot color” this year.
Sometimes I ask myself who’s my favorite designer. I never have an answer. But if stranded forever on a desserted island with only one design source…Anna Sui would be it.
Derivative issues, for me. Too much ironic recycling of what were bad looks in the first place. I’d like to see her do something tasteful. I know that’s not what she’s known for but you can see she has the skills to do it. I’m throwing down that challenge… Anna Sui: Do an exercise in restraint.
I never know what to think of Anna Sui. I really like those two toned shoes. Not sure about the rest. Its not that I don’t like it. I just …don’t know.
Wow! What a fun collection! I’m not quite sure why it works so well–the clashing prints and squared shapes should just be loud and boxy, but instead everything is oddly harmonious and pretty flattering. I think it’s all in the proportions and tones (SO much nicer than the mess at J Crew). And while I’d never wear one of these ensembles as is, I would love to have any number of the individual pieces.

while sometimes Anna Sui is just a tad too “hippie” for my taste sometimes…i absolutely LOVED this show.
it’s funny & ironic that in the video (style.com) she referenced having watched Jean Luc Godard films – which i also have been lately!!
but what struck me more immediately as an amazing reference that came to the forefront:

Beyond the exciting using of print, color, pattern, scale, is the cohesion achieved, the sum is greater than the parts.
