The title should have simply been, “on the street in America”… the classic RL motifs.

Nice portrait! Love the checked shirt and tie!

Love how the shadow just catches half his face- very masculine all the way. Fantastic portrait and combo by him.

I like his tie!!!
Alluring tie, but I would choose another jacket. Maybe one made of tweed.

Strong but colorful. Not a bad combination, especially for a man.

The whole gentrified English country thing is always classic. I especially like a good Barbour.

His shirt is amazing but it looks uncomfortable!

His oilcloth jacket is perfect….great look!
February 14, 2013 at 3:33 pm
Could he possibly be British?……………!
February 14, 2013 at 10:51 pm
Nope, not British…just a very sharp man who happens to be the Head of Men’s Design at Polo.

Sorry can’t really make any sartorial judgment as one can not really see anything. Are we taking fashion here or judging a good portrait. 2 Very different things. I came for fashion

I love the tie, it’s really cool; the shirt is ok but I don’t like the collar (botton down forever!); the Barbour jacket is a true casual classic but it has nothing to do with the rest; greased hair in 2013 are so pathetic; last but not least, I spread a merciful veil over the anachronistic macho expression, ka boom!

If only the majority of British gents still dressed like that; unfortunately pride in what we wear has yet to be revived in the UK, US etc.
I love the collar shape, making a fairly conventional choice of shirt and tie design something quite special.

Other accessories this gentleman should consider:
A Land Rover Defender 110 cdi
A pair of over and under single trigger James Purdey & Sons 12 bore shotguns.
An English Springer Spaniel.
An estate in Scotland.
Hope that helps!

Love the tie and shirt combo but am a fan of longer collars which hide the tie, except for the knot, and upper button.
February 15, 2013 at 8:31 am
I quite disagree. This pic is a great argument for the spread collar. Button-down collars were, are and will forever be for nerds!

Ignore all the negativity here, you are a photographer who takes photos of fashion, you can’t have one without the other. Great photo. He’s got really sharp features, very handsome.

Checked cutaway collar shirt, striped tie and a waxed coat. Different styles mixed into one cool outfit!

Classic all around, excellent choices.

Can anyone identify the make of tie, please?
February 18, 2013 at 10:02 pm
Polo Ralph Lauren, of course. That is where he works.
February 20, 2013 at 3:27 pm
This is rare indeed: a Tattersall check shirt with an aggressive cutaway collar. It shouldn’t work — and yet, there it is, coupled with a tartan wool tie, framed by a wax cotton jacket. Rare and just great.

I saw this Polo tie on sale last week. I chose another Polo instead. This makes me rethink that decision. I’m going back to the store today…hope it’s still there!

Does anyone know where I can find this tie please?
