This interview series is just fantastic. McCurry is an inspiration for so many… like he said totally committed from sun up to sun down. His complete mental dedication has allowed everyone else like us glimpses into such unique, glorious or devastating moments. Well done Scott, looking forward to the rest.

Really enjoyed this interview series – fascinating to hear the ‘behind-the-scenes’ as it were of Steve’s career. Understanding the work, dedication, detail, and technicalities involved in all the amazing images he’s produced. Would love to see more like this! :)
Could you tell us what music is playing in the background?

I’m really enjoying this interview. You’re questions have been spot on. I’m so glad you asked him about lighting, I always wonder how professional photographers manage to capture it so beautifully. Looking forward to Friday’s installment :)

THANK YOU so much for these amazing videos, you introduced me to Steve McCurry with one of your posts, i went out straight away and bought PORTRAITS!!!!!! Not only are his photos inspiring and to tell such incredible stories, You can’t help but wonder what that persons life story is. You are both masters at this, photos that capture, I don’t know, something special. Steve McCurry what a wonderful mentor to have, as he seems like a great guy as well. :)

What’s the folk music in the background??? Sounds like something Boby Dylan was influenced by… I can’t even pick out a line to to do a lyrics search!

Hi Scott – Thanks for sharing these! Really love them! … At around :45 Mr. McCurry mentioned he works with a local. Did he ever mention how he chooses a local or how does he choose who he works with, does his translation, etc.? Thank, Ellie
