An Amazing collection of stunning leather skirts, wrap waist pants, Boxing inspired accessories….no wonder he has been selected by a historical Couture house to lead their future!
I fully agree! Alexander has a spritely, youthful energy which is so endearing. I’m looking forward to his debut collection at Balenciaga and think he will certainly bring something interesting to the runway. GOOD LUCK!
ALEXANDER WANG – The show of New York A/W 2013.
It’s hard to put into words what we saw, a mixture of the future and the past and a large dose of pure genius! Everything from the shapes to the textures was amazing. I loved all the fur and the silhouettes but I particularly liked the way Alexander has bought back that 20′s dropped waist and those interesting shoulders. Has anyone actually done anything like the back-to-front dropped shoulders before? Incredible. Oh and one last thing; the red pony tails pulled through the back of the hoods…now trending!
I agree! Wonderful, innovative, endearing collection! I particularly love the knit in the first photo: it’s almost a long ‘shrug’ style, and looks sooooo comfortable. The collection’s boxy shapes are divine. We’re coming into Autumn here in Australia soon (though today is 30 degrees C where I live!!), but these clothes inspire me to dream of layering-up in wonderful shapes and textures in the coming cooler season.
The accessories, especially that shoes in the 3rd picture, are outrageously stunning. Chic, powerful, a little bit punk and young, a very Alexander Wang demonstration of minimalism.
And he knows what his NYorker customers (as a state, not as a geographical definition of manhattan residents) want: BLACK and FUNKY!

Nice materials, but I can not get used to the boxy silhouets.

i like the relaxed, soft, yet very elegant silhouettes in this collection, the roomyness of it.

Dreadfully unflattering. Deathly drab. Shoes make the feet look like horse’s hooves. Why is this considered chic? It is sad.
