She DOES look grate! (yuk yuk yuk)
Do the shoes have a heel or a wedge?

I think the belt is the very best part of this outfit. Normally, I don’t like bubble hems done with such fluid material, but it doesn’t gather too much here, which really makes a difference.

Lovely in every aspect.

I love the bag. The dress looks to be a little bit too short. But: She looks fine.

I’m really loving the bubble hem thing this spring. I need to get me one of those.

Her hairstyle is fantastic. And she sure knows how to accessorize.

the details are great! the belt, the highlights!

NOW IF ONLY THE GRATE COULD HAVE BLOWN HOT AIR WHILE YOU WERE SHOOTING. COULD HAVE BEEN A 2006 MANHATTAN VERSION OF MARYLYNN MONROE

I was just going to say what cocktail jen said. I think her off-beat hairstyle adds to the appeal of the outfit. This also immediately reminded me of an outfit of Kirsten Dunst’s that I keep seeing: http://www.adorevintage.com/kirstendunst.html. First photo in the first row. I wonder if it was an inspiration?

Sorry to be a spoil-sport(and to be such behind a cloak of anonymity) but i think it looks a little cheap. I think the culprit is the shapeless jacket (it’s possible that the hand in the pocket is distoring the shape). I would like the look so much more with a shorter, more structured jacket; something with a short sleeve.

don’t knock h&m…if half of your label snobs would check out the stores the rest of us shop at, you’ll be delightedly surprised and see how marni’s just ripping you off.
this outfit is great

Did anyone notice how the tonality of her highlights seem to complement her handbag, her shoes, and even her belt?
May 3, 2006 at 7:26 pm
You were waiting for that ‘Marilyn Monroe’ moment, weren’t you?

Fashmoda, the dress does not look too short, Anything longer would’ve looked weird and shortened her calf.
I love all the street style you post, but it’d be nice to see something crazier once in a while.
More slutpunkeccentrics, but then I don’t know the age range of people visiting this site or if they’d be able to appreciate stuff like that.

Lia- slutpunkeccentric is soo easy to find on the net and, although you will find a sampling while searching the achives, I am not too sure what you admire about it could be considered discernably sartorial, in the sense of what the author is attempting to create here.

borrring. post-modernism made obsolute all of new york’s “slutpunkeccentrics” worth taking pictures of. head over to lastnightsparty.com or mishapes.com for a washed out version of what you’re looking for.
the thing that makes this blog great is how purely classic and perfectly modern it is. as if eloise lived in the soho grand. don’t change a thing.

her hair has the loudest streak of colour – and her neutral-coloured outfit supports the look.
beautiful lines, beautiful shoes – and oh that necklace!
very well put together.

I think this is my favourite summer-dress look so far. Why? For the lack of leggings of course.
I agree that the jacket could be a little more tailored, and though the colors wash her out a bit, the orange/gold thing makes up for it.
My only beef with this outfit is the chest area. While she has fantastic milky skin and a great collar-bone, I think that cut and shape make her look like she has very small saggy breasts, and the necklace doesn’t do much to help the situation.

I keep returning to this image sarto, it is one heck of a fine photograph. My favorite this month.

so pretty. she looks like she should be a charcter frm a short story, a girl who looks shy and fragile, softly spoken, yet has dark passions running underneath!
May 11, 2006 at 6:38 pm
The belt makes this, I think, and the necklace turns the otherwise bad neckline into a success. Great combination of elements.

Thanks so much for all the compliments, I was proud of that day’s outfit too.
The necklace is from my line, VonKottwitz.
This is a great website, its now in the “Daily” folder of my favorites.

She does look terrific. The belt and the necklace are so interesting and ornate.
