Lovely parka & boots combination!
Hi! I’m an editor @ hipshops.com

Because that is the perfect cut, the perfect fit, and the perfect wash. A hard thing to find for sure. Of course, pairing it with those shoes and a great classic waxed jacket doesn’t hurt either ;)

it can and it will!
Jeans are the only pants I ever where. Hats (forever) off to Mr. Strauss!
You may want to visit Los Angeles!
I am not sure this looks chic.

Don’t worry George…you are not the only one.

I like this parka!!! the color combination is so nice!!
February 5, 2013 at 2:17 pm
Great shot! You should come to San Francisco sometime. It’s visually very interesting.
February 5, 2013 at 2:18 pm
great jacket :)
It’s all about the coat, for me – in this shot.
February 5, 2013 at 2:29 pm
Today I totally disagree…I don’t think it is chic to wear a jeans with a tie.
February 6, 2013 at 7:57 am
agree, i dont think this look is chic. secondly ties and jeans. no.
February 5, 2013 at 2:31 pm
Haha seriously though
February 5, 2013 at 2:34 pm
I love that look.
Anybody knows what jacket this is? It looks like a Barbour, but I’m not sure which one it is.
February 5, 2013 at 2:36 pm
very nice !!
February 5, 2013 at 2:37 pm
Does anyone know details about the jacket? Thanks

I love jean and tie, and this jean has a perfcet cut for this gentleman!
February 5, 2013 at 2:42 pm
Because he’s italian!
February 5, 2013 at 5:50 pm
I agree. Great photo!

February 5, 2013 at 2:43 pm
Wow, great style!
February 5, 2013 at 2:51 pm
I think most jeans don’t look as chic as this because these appear to be genuinely worn in rather than some factory finish, they fit properly, and those little turn-ups go so well with the boots.
February 5, 2013 at 2:56 pm
super chic ,very Italian x
February 5, 2013 at 2:58 pm
He looks good in those jeans with the army jacket.
February 5, 2013 at 3:08 pm
Demonstrating that it’s nonsense that older men shouldn’t wear jeans.
Exploring men’s style and fashion on middle age
Why? Because the guy on the picture is Italian, his jeans has the right size and the right cut (must be Italian too) and the parka looks great as well…
February 5, 2013 at 3:12 pm
It looked chic, well, because the cut and wash of the jeans worked well with the guy’s frame and the shape of his legs. It’s all in the jeans working with genes.
February 5, 2013 at 3:18 pm
Nice looking and nice fitting pair of jeans. Perfect to show off the boots. Wears it well.
February 5, 2013 at 3:19 pm
como se dice mundane?
February 5, 2013 at 3:28 pm
because you need the attitude! :)

Great casual outfit approved in total

February 5, 2013 at 3:38 pm
Why this tie??? With this shape??? How to trivialize a potentially perfect look
February 5, 2013 at 3:41 pm
The shape of one’s legs should always be considered when selecting a style too. It is so often overlooked.
February 5, 2013 at 4:04 pm
Uhhhmmm, I think this looks ok but not exactly chic. The parka is perfect. BTW, is this Alessandro Squari? I’ve developed a mini-crush on him, thanks to you, Sart.

This look so great because he’s LIVING in these pieces… hood armed, book in tow, pockets full… he’s not wearing it well, he’s living it well.

Love the navy blazer peeking out.
This brings to mind a question I’ve had for a while: navy blazer: still classic (and which version?), potentially modern, or tired cliché?
February 9, 2013 at 7:25 am
Many years ago when my wife and I ran our own business we had to visit conferences and exhibitions for one client on a regular basis. The navy blazer (often with godawful metal buttons) seemed to be the standard option for the style-free man who couldn’t think of what else to wear. I told my wife that if I ever wore one she should shoot me. So, I think it’s still a bad option. Maybe there’s somebody out there who can prove me wrong.
February 5, 2013 at 5:33 pm
looks like freemans sporting club Isle of Man jacket from last year
February 5, 2013 at 6:13 pm
It’s because of the shoes!
February 5, 2013 at 7:18 pm
Iconic – perfect high/low style.
February 5, 2013 at 7:50 pm
It’s because Italy looks better on men.
February 5, 2013 at 7:59 pm
Because not enough people make their own fit from raw denim and not enough people fuck with selvedge denim!

The fit of those jeans is fantastic. Cool boots, too.
February 6, 2013 at 3:18 am
Because he is italian. We have TASTE in our blood in our DNA. It’ natural to us…:)
February 15, 2013 at 12:01 am
Vero Alice, I am italian ;-) good guess!

Bonnie, Clyde and Marni
February 6, 2013 at 5:59 am
Love his style!!
February 6, 2013 at 6:08 am
No. Jeans and tie will never go together. Not good. A parker never looks good.
February 6, 2013 at 6:14 am
Perfect fit, perfect outfit.
February 6, 2013 at 7:50 am
I fell in love with the “jeans & tie” look clear back in the 60′s when I was in college. The athletes at our university wore it for dress-up occasions because it was all many of them could afford. Since they were our BMOC, it became the fashion. I still love it! As a previous poster pointed out, it is the perfect high/low look. And this gentleman works it to the nth degree!
February 6, 2013 at 11:02 am
cause italians are always CHIC, no matter what they wear they know how to wear it
February 6, 2013 at 5:21 pm
Why can’t jeans always look this chic? Because one has to be thin like him.
February 6, 2013 at 6:25 pm
This looks a lot like some pictures of Daniel Craig in jeans that I’ve seen online. It looks like they are both of a similar build, average height and somewhat muscular. It works.
February 6, 2013 at 6:47 pm
Boot-i-ful. Style begins with the shoes.
February 6, 2013 at 6:57 pm
Love the boots with blue laces paired with denim.
February 6, 2013 at 8:08 pm
because this guy has a great line to his legs — note that he’s not super-thin, but he’s athletically slender. and he’s not knock-kneed — there has to be some “space” between the legs when you stand in order for the pants like this to work. in fact, his calves bow out a bit — which makes narrow pants look terrific. as someone said above, you have to pay attention to the line of the leg. some people are meant to wear this kind of pant, but most of us would have a tougher time with it. sadly, it is partly about genes…
February 19, 2013 at 4:34 am
Exactly. You need the legs for it.
February 6, 2013 at 9:01 pm
Fabulous! Love the layering and detailing.
February 6, 2013 at 10:26 pm
Jean Genet !
February 7, 2013 at 5:47 am
Because the gentleman’s frame, legs and attitude make all the difference, the jeans in this case are of little importance; anything would look chic on him.
February 7, 2013 at 11:43 am
its cause his legs are skinny. slim lines of legs always look better. unfortunately for me, i do not have that gift, haha.
February 7, 2013 at 8:56 pm
Anyone know what brand of boots these are?

February 8, 2013 at 5:08 pm
Jeans are fine. But sport jacket/blazer under a parka is not. Looks like he needed to be warm rather than wear what looks best (an overcoat). Kind of like wearing dark socks with shorts.
February 9, 2013 at 2:27 am
I know what you mean he looks so sexy
February 10, 2013 at 8:36 am
great outfit!! :)
February 14, 2013 at 3:50 am
Just perfect style on perfect Italian model. YLS ;)
May 1, 2013 at 2:52 pm
Very sexy indeed!
January 16, 2015 at 5:40 am
i love the fact that his jeans just kisses the top of his shoe, what a perfect inseam!
