You were reading my mind! I was just thinking about pulling out my white pants even though it’s winter. Of course it’s not as big a deal here in LA, but this post is inspiring me to get on it!
Thank you for your inspiring and beautiful photography.
I just wore mine yesterday! Normally, they would get dirty in our winter weather in like two seconds, but right now everything is white and frozen outside, so that adds a nice harmony.
I love the fourth picture, so fresh! And Garance is always so cool!
There’s something so utterly chic and elegant about white jeans, especially in winter. Love all your examples, but Garance’s and the last woman with the brogues and black or navy blazer are just amazingly inspiring!
this is a useful post for me…I wear white jeans quite a bit. Although I live in a warmer climate I usually don’t wear them in winter (instead I have a pair of cream colored cords). But the white jeans in the photos look great with winter wear, especially nice with the navy and camel colors.
I am so against white pants in fall/winter. Sorry, it just doesn’t work unless you are in a warm climate. I love in LA, it is close to 80 today but I still don’t do white pants in winter. Sorry
Agree with all who love white jeans in winter, me too! I usually wear mine with my black cashmere turtleneck and chocolate brown Frye riding boots, but Garance looks so fab here I will have to try the white and camel combo!
the top middle photo of the white cuffed jeans with the cream-colored shoes is one of the most beautiful and most genius things ever. I’m not sure I could pull it off, but it sure is fantastic looking.
The rule about wearing white jeans after Labor day is just ridiculous- bad excuse for people who can’t wear white:) Great collage!!!! http://dcinstyle.com/
This is a perfect example of how our society is a slave to fashion. If wearing white after Labor Day was a sin, it would be in the bible. Get over it already!
so chique! and perfect timing, I have been thinking about white jeans a LOT lately, I think I might have to go and get a pair. especially love the first two photos, it’s always so nice to see a winteroutfit in light colours.
I’m sold just looking at Garance. Such a fan of both of you!
And I have to share a secret…the first time I noticed the big camel coat on your blog, Scott, I loved it. I happened to be at Savers (like Goodwill) and snagged one: vintage Jones New York in perfect condition. 100% wool. It was half-off day so I paid $12.
George Cortina is the master of white jeans, I would have expected a picture of him here. He manages a pristine use of the color white, creating flawless looks using mostly navy or khaki pieces. My main problem with white is I only manage to keep things white no longer then a few hours.
of course you had to feature Garance when talking about white jeans !! I have to say I love them, but I have this mental block or I don’t know but I can’t seem to fond a way to make them look classy on me…
This summer I got a pair of slouchy men’s jeans in a grey so washed out that they’re nigh unto white (but they’re “off” enough that they don’t attract and show every bit of dirt within 50 feet). Love ‘em. They look great with boots and sweaters, too!
