Always wear new shoes when looking this good.

THE BROWN SUEDE SHOES REALLY MAKE THE OUTFIT.

Mr. Wooster looks pretty damn spiffy.

I knew he would appear here eventually! Good show, old boy.

Alas, tradition-bound Jeeves would not approve of these shoes. If Bertie is wearing them now that means he’s in the middle of a pickle and without Jeeve’s guidance. Well, never fear… Jeeves will come to the rescue, though poor Bertram will have to give up his beloved shoes in the end.
PS – I love the shoes, too! And the whole look

The tie-width-to-lapel-width ratio spoils the ensemble.

Wooster was nothing without Jeeves. But yes, suede shoes are perfect.

Who is Mr. Wooster? He looks great – love the shoes, love the cut of the suit.

Suede in spring? Is that appropriate?
May 10, 2006 at 5:36 pm
Somehow the suede shoes and the wide tie do it for me!
BTW the word verification this time was “caudy”. Seems as though that should be a word, doesn’t it?

Those shoes are hot, they match his hair.

I know this guy! He always looks good!
May 10, 2006 at 10:09 pm
yes…I always see him running around the fashion district, while I am doing my own errands. he is so dashing, and every time I see him I always think of your website.

Now that’s a well put together outfit!
Oh, and just to balance things out:
I have no idea who this guy is!
I’ve never seen him before in my life!

The narrow leg of the trousers, the narrow, short lapel, the pairing of the brown shoes with the charcoal suit, the snappy spread collar, the blue pocket square. . . . Oh that I could find a stylish man like this to date.

Matthew said… The tie-width-to-lapel-width ratio spoils the ensemble.
Thank you Matthew for pointing this out. I had not been told about that ratio before, but you are exactly correct to describe it that way, IMHO. That is why the current 4″ ties don’t work with the Traditional style suits.
Anyway, as to the shoes, they are a great choice with the suit color. However, (again IMHO) the ensemble could be improved by using a textured rough tie, along with a more puffed pocket square.
But I don’t get paid for fashion advice.

I’m pretty certain that’s not a new/current tie, but a vintage one.
