Takes me back to my Catholic school days!
Yes! I am always thinking of two-toned shoes. I’m never not thinking about them.
This is perfection. Why are most shoes so boringly monochromatic?

While all are striking – and the first and last are the best of the group – I can’t but wonder if a handbag shaped like a golf bag will appear soon.

These shoes aren’t really my style, but love the diversity of outfits featured here. I guess two-toned shoes are more versatile than I thought! :)
January 30, 2013 at 5:36 pm

Really an interesting topic Scott.
You must have such a well ordered portfolio to be able to collect them into this visual.
I really like the bottom right, great shoes…and nice scene.
An inspiring shot for my photography and blog activities!

LOVE this blog. People in South Carolina do not dress like this!!

January 30, 2013 at 8:27 pm
I love 2 tone shoes! My last pair were tan/beige Hush Puppies. All 4 photos are great. Such wonderful styling.
January 30, 2013 at 8:50 pm
I tried this look once and people kept on telling me that I’d forgotten to change my bowling shoes…ha ha…the joke wore a bit thin after a while. bottom right looks best imo.
January 30, 2013 at 8:56 pm
Bottom right looks best in my opinion…simple but stylish, just right.
January 30, 2013 at 8:57 pm

January 30, 2013 at 9:21 pm
What would you call the front hair style of the vintage lady in bottom left?
January 31, 2013 at 1:01 am
Love two tone brogues, the lady in the top left pictures is fantastic, lovem all, but she’s just wow! Found some black and white vintage cole haan brogues a while ago and can’t wait for the snow to go!

January 31, 2013 at 5:17 am
The first one is beyond gorgeous!
January 31, 2013 at 5:21 am
There’s traditional and there’s old fashioned. This is the latter, and not in a good way.
January 31, 2013 at 5:55 am
I like it!! xx
January 31, 2013 at 6:59 am
Wow love the slingbacks with peeptoes ;-)

thanks for this! i was just wondering what to wear today when I saw the image of the gorgeous lady on the bottom left – we have the same vintage varuna wool liberty skirt and it’s time i dug it out! love the way she kept her base layer on top simple and then paired it with the red socks, i might try it out! the rest of her outfit is too adventurous for me :)
January 31, 2013 at 8:48 am
A big “yes” to all four pairs but the 4th picture ?
Simple dress and the two tone shoes : perfect styling.
January 31, 2013 at 8:58 am

I have a new pair of Clergerie navy and black loafers that are way cool. I have always loved this look!
January 31, 2013 at 1:01 pm
Absolutely an outstanding group of pictures. I love two-tone shoes anyway, but these ladies are beyond stylish, esp. the top and bottom left hand. Very different, but they are taking fashion beyond style to a form of artistic expression.
January 31, 2013 at 3:04 pm
No one’s mentioned Elaine Benes yet? I bought a pair of tan and white two-tone shoes because of her (and I still have them.)
January 31, 2013 at 4:33 pm
Do it? Yes I agree, with all my heart. Taking the bowling shoe and making it even more fun, who could not love?
January 31, 2013 at 5:16 pm
Top left and bottom right. So stylish – great shots!
January 31, 2013 at 9:38 pm
I love the polish of the first look…but think that I prefer it when two-tone shoes are done in a modern way (like the bottom right).
Something about combining them with vintage pieces can veer too far into costume territory for my liking – especially when the rest of the styling falls into the same era.
February 1, 2013 at 10:19 am
I have a pair of two-tone-shoes and had no idea what outfit should I wear before. Now I have~!
February 2, 2013 at 3:44 am
Excellent. Top right is how I dress basically.
February 2, 2013 at 4:40 am
Thses examples are great, I like the bottom left example and the fur coat looks super snuggly, currently freezing in Richmond Park!
February 3, 2013 at 5:29 pm
Bottom right is my favorite !!!
February 3, 2013 at 11:41 pm
Top left = awesome! Where was it shot? Looks like she’s off to a bull fight or to rob a bank or race a Ferrari. <3
February 4, 2013 at 9:39 am
Bottom left is the worst, IMHO. The complete look and the shoes particularly
February 6, 2013 at 6:36 am
I think black and brown two-toned shoes are really cool. See for yourself :)
April 8, 2013 at 1:02 pm
Personaly, i prefer the bottom right one’s. They look really cool and acceptable. And yes, the bottom left one’s are propaply the worst, followed by the upper right pair of two toned shoe’s.
