more beautiful than an orchid.
She would probably appear this graceful in a potato sack.
And I can tell I like her, just in how she put this casualness together.

I absolutely love this one. That lace top looks very special. And with the khakis and hoodie it’s perfect.

I think it has become Asian American culture to dress well – not merely a reflection of wealth, but a statement of refinement and class. I feel it is a backlash to much of the Asian stereotypes of 20th century America. As an Asian American male, I have a natural yet unconscious tendency to overcompensate through my image that cannot be categorized and stereotyped; however, this has created other problems such as the common perception that Asian American males are all metro and overly effeminate. Though trying to fight against misconceptions of American pop culture, it is very easy to conform to this subculture. Within upper-middle class Asian Americans, there is an extreme pressure to dress well so it’s common to have “stylish” Asian Americans.
Furthermore, the fashion scene has been slowly shifting (or at least gained a greater appreciation) towards Asian fashion trends. There has been a new wave of Asian fashion designers who reflect Asian culture in their clothing lines. I can buy clothes in Taiwan (which is ridiculously cheap, by the way) and wait a year and still be fashion-forward. (much of the trends are 2 years ahead – layering and graphic tees were popular 2 years ago) This increased awareness, however, has produced a interesting Japanese fetish – Gwen Stefani has tried to capitalize on Japanese fashion and it has been so successful that basically anything Japanese people wear are considered fashionable only due being so flamboyantly “different”. We’ll take it though. I predict within a few decades Tokyo and Shanghai will be fashion-capitals along-side Milan and New York.
So why are Asian people so fashionable? Asian American subculture and Asian fashion trends.
Sorry for rambling and most likely boring you.
I love this picture due to the simplicity of the outfit and the mixture between casual hoddie and lacy top. Well done as usual on the camera shot.

Asians are stylish because our stylish mothers would probably disown us if we weren’t! :)

"Why are asian people always so damn stylish? Someone please tell me.."
They're not. I traveled between Japan, Korea, and Taiwan for two years and the majority of Asian people are not particularly stylish, and some of the styles are a bit too overboard for me. Most of the Asian people on a style blog are stylish because… well, it's a style blog.

Genuinely interesting comment Brian Liu.
I live in London, UK, and whenever I’m in the West End (essentially the shopping/cultural/entertainment/arts center of the City) I’m often struck at how well put together, elegant and impeccably stylish a disproportionate number of (mainly) female Asians seem to be, and a few of the males too……and I’d recently been wondering why ?
i guess you answered my question
As for the lovely lady in the photograph, I think she’s as cute as a button, and her outfit gives her a fresh, breezy and very attractive look
The sunlight and freshness of the girl and the photo makes me think of Lionel Ritchie singing ‘Easy like a Sunday morning’
