I generally like the longer fit duffle coats on men and women, although i cant quite decide on that one in the bottom left. It does make him look like a man, broad shoulders and all, but seems just a bit oversized for his frame. http://lordashbury.com
Totally disagree. The Duffle Coat is a fairly larger coat inherently. It allows for layering. It is like arguing against a winter boot for being too chunky. The man is fairly slim and has on decent shoes for the coat. Overall, it all works.
NO. Thats how they fit. They are short and roomy. I really don’t know what kind you have seen, but you are not talking about the classic duffle coat if you like them fitted and long. This is how they should fit.
There was a competition for the item you bought but never wore a while back, but I don’t find those of my clothes as memorable as the clothes I used to wear but lost somehow. This post reminds me of the perfect duffle coat that was once mine: navy blue with black toggle closures.
I was so sad when I left it at a party, and the restaurant did not have it the next day! I still believe that whoever took it must have found the coat as irresistable as I did.
The photographer’s coat on the bottom center is my favorite here. Love the pop of orange with the understated blue and khaki.
I love Duffle Coats for my whole life. I wore them as a little child, as a teenager and now, as a woman. They suit men and woman at the same time and never will get oldfashioned.
LOVE duffle coats – specially in the second picture. The collar, and the fact that it’s short and broad, gives it an edge.
I really like the “If you’re thinking about..” posts, however I was wondering if it was possible to see the pictures individually. For the ones already posted we can find them – but is there a way to see the new ones individually?
I’ve bought a Duffle-Coat in marine two years ago and I definetly love it. They are classy enough for nearly every occasion and many years, stylish and very warm!
i used to have one but gave it away! does anyone have any suggestion where to look for one for women? would be even better if anyone knows where the beautiful photographer on the centre bottom got hers! cheers
You can order them from Gloverall.com that’s the original maker of the coat. They do collaborate with other designers such as jcrew Ralph Lauren and burberry. Every year a new style comes out. I have Six duffle coats. I keep 2 in England just in case I vacation in London in the cold. Four in Chicago 2 blue long and short style. 1 beige for CSO. 1 Burberry for special occasions. Hope that helps.
Hi- when you take photos of people, do you ask them to roll up their pants, so we can see their socks? Maybe I don’t live in the right place, but I never, ever see peoples’ socks in public unless they are wearing shorts or a skirt.
In Poland we call it “budrysówka” ;-) It is not popular type of coat, hard to find it in any stores. Mine is beautiful, red & black details, from Esprit’s collection about 5 years ago. Love it!
I love duffle coat:)
my uncle gave me a old duffle coat few years ago and I thought
that the Duffle coat is old fashioned. but I was really super wrong.
Duffle coats are really comfortable and cool.
I think I have to buy some duffles :)
Used to have a light brown one as a child and therefore very much like top right and bottom middle ( mine was nowhere near as nice as these and quite heavy and coarse as I remember ). Hermes did one recently in their signature orange which although was a bit in your face, was pretty cool and would be great with a navy suit and old brown shoes – but was sadly out of my budget!
I love finally found the perfect duffle coat with Original Montgomery this year. Blue plaid, horn buttons. It’s perfect on the oldest of days with a thin down vest underneath.
