Great shoes on the guy :-)
January 27, 2013 at 2:18 am
I love the man’s expression as if to say why are you photographing me! My eye is drawn to his worn and scruffy shoes!

Still bewildered by the apparently widespread eschewing of boots, or even really rugged lug-soled shoes, in the snow. These two are cool, but they’d look a lot cooler to me if they weren’t wearing shoes that are kind of ridiculous for the conditions.
January 27, 2013 at 12:37 pm
Yes, heavy winter boots are totally necessary in the snow because things like heated cars and public transportation do not exist in Paris and Parisians have to trek many miles in the snow covered streets to get from point A to B.
January 27, 2013 at 3:13 am
Gorgeous looking people… relaxed tailoring? … wish i could see her shoes a litle better…
January 27, 2013 at 3:18 am
They both look so great! I love this. I love his hat angled back on his head, and how the long coat manages to look so easy and unpretentious, and how the pants seem a wee bit short. And I love the fact that she’s wearing white oxfords in the snow.
January 27, 2013 at 3:48 am
they look so extremely cool
January 27, 2013 at 3:49 am

January 27, 2013 at 4:17 am
Good morning Scott. I adore this. Your composition here is stunning and they are just beautiful. Love the silhouettes, the monochrome and the relaxed knowing elegance.
January 27, 2013 at 4:21 am
I can honestly say I find nothing inspiring or interesting in the looks of either of these two people. There is very little life in their style.
January 27, 2013 at 7:37 pm
I see the other side, the beauty in the relaxed look, very stylish without trying. That kind of style, which can not be bought.
January 28, 2013 at 5:47 am
Agreed. Cool couple living life in their clothes – not for their clothes.
January 28, 2013 at 1:16 pm
While in theory I agree that there is beauty in a relaxed look and clothing that doesn`t wear you, in general I prefer to look at a style which I would either like to copy, or, even if I don`t specifically like it, makes me want to elevate my own look. The clothing that they are wearing does not bring me to either place.
But that`s one person`s opinion (and the beauty of The Sartorialist project).

Beautiful photo <3 I love your blog!
January 27, 2013 at 4:30 am

January 27, 2013 at 4:54 am
Ah … Jules et Jim à Paris … je les aime:)
January 27, 2013 at 5:01 am
Stylish combo on the girl. I particularly like the scarf and shoe co-ordination. I’d have liked to see some more colour in the guy’s outfit. Too much black for me personally. Love the mood of the photo.
January 27, 2013 at 6:37 am
Love the black base!
Don’t miss my NEW INs that I will be publishing today….including an amazing watch!!!

Really nice shot/ scene. Like the moment here… Like they’re just chilling at the streets, looking fashionable. Aso the snow makes it a nice visual and enhances the contrast so they really pop out.
I like shooting on the streets now, with the snow giving that bright background…almost in the need of a ND-filter on my camera.
January 27, 2013 at 5:40 am
that is perfection in my book, simple and elegant. Paul Harnden coat looks astonishing …
January 27, 2013 at 5:45 am
cool parisian couple :)
January 27, 2013 at 5:47 am
Beaten up chic, ja dore! Can’t wait to be in Paris, just a month to go now :) x
This is so `parisan’ to me!
The man’s baggy `clochard’ look is simply chic , and, the woman’s black fashion enlightened with an off-white muffler is modern with a a bit of romantic touch(skirt).
I love this couple’s allure.
It reminds me those days when I was studying fashion in Paris, more than 20 years ago.
January 27, 2013 at 5:51 am
Ha ha ! This is so Paris Marais-like. I’d say “arty-bourgeoisie-intellectuelle-hypsters”. I love their style ! There’s a story in their expression. Great and well-matched couple !
January 27, 2013 at 7:46 am
Your observation is so right.
I was searching the right expression to explain about their style:) and you did. Awesome.
January 27, 2013 at 10:47 am
Well, it’s definitely more than just “bobo”. Much more ! It’s richer, funnier, classier.
January 27, 2013 at 2:05 pm
Completely agree with you, bien plus que des bobos
January 27, 2013 at 6:58 am
Photos like this make me miss my city so much !
Great looking couple but the man’s pose and facial expression are priceless.
January 27, 2013 at 7:15 am
The guy is handsome.

January 27, 2013 at 8:10 am
I love this pic.
January 27, 2013 at 8:24 am
To me they look neither stylish nor comfortable – just as they would freeze their a** off.
January 27, 2013 at 8:39 am
As much as I love ankle-length trousers, they just don’t work with socks. (And no, not even with those really cool polka-dotted 50 Dollar Corgis you bought from Barney’s or wherever.)
That being said, her oversized coat and scarf look fantastic.
January 27, 2013 at 8:51 am
This is such a great shot, I can’t even….everything is perfect. The subjects, the background, the lightning. One of my favourites from you!
January 27, 2013 at 9:51 am
nice pair! I love her haircut!!! so frech styled…
January 27, 2013 at 9:52 am
Very nice, is partly beacuse of pictures like this that I keep daydreaming of living in Paris. I hope I will, someday.
January 27, 2013 at 10:31 am
Maybe it’s just me but the guy looks a little bit bohémien and I like it so much!
January 27, 2013 at 10:48 am
Incredibly love the ” effortless chic ” of these people . These bohemian dressed assosuated with good old Paris of 20th century
January 27, 2013 at 10:49 am
Seems effortless and timeless.Tryly french
January 27, 2013 at 11:33 am
the fedora and well- worn shoes give him a style all his own
January 27, 2013 at 11:39 am
High Parisian chic right here.
January 27, 2013 at 11:44 am
That’s so….1980s. :)

Nice shoes on the girl and nice hat on the guy! :)
January 27, 2013 at 12:18 pm
January 27, 2013 at 2:08 pm
I would see Johnny Depp dressed like this. I very much enjoy their expressions, she seems quite content she is being shot whereas him, he is intrigued to say the least. It’s almost like you’re stealing his privacy with the girl
January 27, 2013 at 2:27 pm
La Boheme reincarnated. Timeless photo. Cold winter. Hunger.
January 27, 2013 at 4:47 pm
This picture is brilliant on so many levels!
January 27, 2013 at 5:11 pm
So effortlessly cool! I particularly love his outfit.

Beautiful man, beautiful Paul Harnden shoes…
January 28, 2013 at 3:05 am
I think you have snow falls in Paris just a few times a year. Is it colder there this year?
January 28, 2013 at 3:44 am
They look like they spend to much money on their clothes and still look uncomfortable. To be honest, knowing what a coat and shoes like that costs and looking at their face expression, pose and age, I don’t think they worked for the money to get those clothes themselves, and it kinda shows. (or they worked so disproportionately hard for it, that it ruins their so desired illusion of being nonchalant) I just see typical Paris kids indeed, but that just means ‘lot’s of posing’ these days. It would help if they had smiles instead of smirks.
January 28, 2013 at 8:09 am
i think they look more like they work in the biz.
Presumptuous of you to comment on the fact that they worked for their clothes or not. It is totally irrelevent.
to me neither of them look french.
January 29, 2013 at 1:28 am
Are you their accountant now? Maybe their families are wealthy. More likely they work in fashion. I wouldn’t be shocked to hear she is a model. And how do you know their age?
January 28, 2013 at 6:22 am
The guy’s expression is the most French thing I’ve ever seen.
January 28, 2013 at 9:58 am
The contrast of their attire and the white background is stunning. This makes me wish I was in Paris again.
January 28, 2013 at 10:06 am
Guy looks a lot like Indian Actor Ritesh Deshmukh. Uncanny.
January 29, 2013 at 5:57 am
I thought EXACTLY the same thing except that he would probably never dress like that.
January 28, 2013 at 12:15 pm
effortlessly wonderful styling!
January 28, 2013 at 5:27 pm
They have cleaned the facade of the church!
January 28, 2013 at 6:24 pm
he works for rick owens by the way !
January 28, 2013 at 10:58 pm
your couple photos are always my favourite
January 28, 2013 at 11:07 pm
love what these two are wearing, ‘cept that it may be a tad difficult walking in snow with those shoes :p this shot reminds me of one time in michigan, when i was waiting for the bus at the side of the road with my pals after grocery shopping, and whooosh! a bus passes by and landed some dirty snow onto my pants and shoes. never again haha. *sorry random memory*
January 28, 2013 at 11:22 pm
The young girl looks agreeable and well educated. The young man would make me unconfortable if i met him in real life. Because of the clothes too, of course.
January 29, 2013 at 1:26 am
I don’t get it. Why would he make anyone uncomfortable? He looks a bit like a hipster, like her, but how is that scary?????? Am I missing something? Why would one make you feel different then the other when their clothing is sort of similar( well not similar, but the same esthetic) ? :/
January 29, 2013 at 5:59 am
Why should he make you uncomfortable?
January 29, 2013 at 1:24 am
Thats a very sexy and well matched couple! Pretty!I
January 29, 2013 at 3:41 pm
Those two look fuckin cool. I wanna be hanging out with them.
January 29, 2013 at 5:28 pm
His eyes are COMPLETELY like Indian actor – Ritesh Deshmukh’s.
January 29, 2013 at 8:17 pm
Overall magnificent picture. Great tone range. That faded snowy back drop to the guy’s shoe pose. Facial expressions are intriguing. Almost like they aren’t sure it snowed, maybe this is a dream? Could be jigsaw puzzle material.
January 30, 2013 at 9:33 am
he’s very cool!!
January 31, 2013 at 4:41 pm
His body language is incredible. So much attitude, yet still so cool.
January 31, 2013 at 10:54 pm
He is wearing $5000+ worth of clothing. There is nothing nonchalant about his appearance.
February 2, 2013 at 12:35 am
Good looking couple.
February 2, 2013 at 8:39 am
So cool couple…
