Beautiful shot and a lovely dressed girl indeed. But the “mommy” as well as “daddy” bikers in Amsterdam give me chills. I can’t bare looking at them riding really fast and crossing busy roads with little kids strapped their bikes, often one in front and another one in the back with no head helmets.
Ha I like that it’s all frozen and snowy but she is still on the bike, with a backpack, a kid’s seat, a cross body bag and of course, a fag!! That’s way cool!
I commend her for riding her bike in the snow. Kinda slippery, but brave. Boy, I’m not sure I would do. Still clever to put backpack in the baby’s seat. I would like to walk around Amsterdam to see how slender people are compared to folks in the U.S. Does all that apparent bike riding that the citizenry do really make a difference? Does it burn off the calories from croissants consumed with a pad of butter? Coffee laden with cream? Wine by the glassful nightly at dinner?
Loving the prolific volume of posts going up recently. It was so hard over Christmas and New Year when there were so few updates (I got sick of seeing that man in the jacket on the ski slope) and now it’s great – something new every day. Thanks :)
Long sheepskin coats with a hood are the answer to cold weather style! I would love one… She looks great and warm, apart from the pumps and her fag hand.
i’ll be there next week. once more: i’ll be there next week!! i’m so happy. although, only for one night. i also like her fresh outfit. the colors are refreshing, really.
Who would seriously consider riding a bike in that wheather? I don’t even have a driver’s licence, so I ride my bike pretty much constantly. But as soon as the snow sets in, a cyclist is basically an accident waiting to happen. Especially if you (like the girl above) are trying to smoke a cigarette while riding your bike.
It was like 28 degrees F, hardly 5 degrees below zero!
It’s been hovering around 0 in parts of the Midwest, with the wind chill well below 0F. When it is that cold, fashion goes out the window. Unless you like to be missing body parts after the frostbite hits.
It hit 19F today and it felt like Spring compared to the last ten days. Shoveling snow didn’t even seem too bad.
Trying to navigate a snowy street with a big backpack, a bicycle, shoes that will not keep your feet dry, and (somewhere) a child? That’s one adventure I will gladly pass up. I have enough trouble trying to walk a dog in the city without getting frostbite right now.
This isn’t about being romantic or fashionable- it’s the slogging logistics of real day-to-day life.
Love the scarf/hood/bangs combo, cosy and cute! BTW people, pretty sure thats not a cigarette in her hand, after all… it is Amsterdam and not that many people roll their own any more. Just sayin’
To be honest? I’m loving the snow shots! Layers are always fun and here in Perth, Australia, we never get to wear more than one or two. Come and shoot our beach gear!
