Love, love the idea of flight jackets, and if you’re handy with a sewing machine, you can make your own with some faux shearling. Vogue Patterns has some nice flight jacket patterns. Just take your time. Cut out a muslin in a cheap fleece, sew it up for fit. When you finally cut your nice faux shearling, take your time. And do it off-site. The fuzz from the shearling will get everywhere. Then take your time sewing. Make sure you’ve got the right needles, foot, etc. One false with the needle and you’ve got a row of stitching that will not go away forever. Yes, forever. But when you’re all done, you’ll have a rugged heirloom jacket and peeps will chase you down the street to ask, “Where did you get your jacket??”
