I am in 100% total agreement.

Maybe one more button on the shirt, otherwise this is the way to do shorts. Bright white shorts are IT.

I love timeless colors too, bright white, navy blue, bucky brown.

Oh man, I really like this one. That shirt is very, very cool along with the shorts. I think I may have to bite this man’s style this summer.

My prejudice: this gentleman’s look is perfect for relaxed warm weather attire anywhere other than on the street in the city. And the only thing I would change to make it perfect for the city street is to turn the shorts into trousers of the same cut and material. As I said, just my view; but somehow, to me, shorts make a person (man or woman) look a bit undressed when on the streets of any city. My point is illustrated perfectly by the difference in effect between the photo of this gentleman and that of the young Italian woman immediately following. No difference in level of informality; the woman is just more citified.

The gentleman does, however, follow another of my “rules”–no short sleeved shirts with shorts. Somehow, the contrast between long sleeves and shorts appears more balanced, maybe because it is less balanced. Makes no difference to me whether the long sleeves are worn rolled up or down.

I violate my rules on occasion, but I’m invariably more comfortable when I abide by them.

I think this outfit makes a great summer outfit for out and about flaneuring in the city.. but I don’t think I would wear a black belt with those driving mocs he’s got on.

Classy ensemble for someone wearing shorts … also great to see the mocs as opposed to those horrible flip flops everyone wears (what has this city come to , a surfer beach town??? this is NY for goodness sake , pretend you have class if you don’t )

don’t confuse “being” in the city with “living” in the city

he could very well be on his way to pick up his kids from schoola and then straight to the park – If it is warm I never wear pants to the park with my kids. A big part of style is being appropriate to the occasion and palying with your kids in the park calls for a more active outfit BUT that outfit can still have style – just like this gentleman.

Love the driving shoes. Thank you, guy, for foregoing the crosstrainers.

He looks like Gennaro Gatusso, the italian soccer player of Milan Ac.

wouldn’t a tighter fit on the shorts be better looking?
