This girl really looks like my cousin. Did you get her name? I think her style is very unique and cool, I can see why you consider this one of your favorite shots. She’s very unique.
July 3, 2006 at 5:53 am
love the way her belt is worn. i thought i was the only one who did that.
July 3, 2006 at 5:54 am
She got the edgy chic look, love the sexy hairstyle too. Is she wearing Birkenstock?
July 3, 2006 at 6:43 am
Now the only question that remains is if that’s a boy or a girl :P
July 3, 2006 at 6:47 am
Effortlessly stylish…love it!
July 3, 2006 at 6:49 am
I am definetly falled in love for her sunglasses. Any idea about it’s references?
July 3, 2006 at 7:01 am
Nice! Like a young Mia Farrow.
July 3, 2006 at 7:02 am

July 3, 2006 at 7:44 am

July 3, 2006 at 8:03 am
This is one of my favoite shots, ever.
July 3, 2006 at 8:18 am
She looks beautiful , sexy , cool , classy….. i love her.
July 3, 2006 at 8:25 am
That’s badass that she put the belt buckle off to the side. Tres chic little gamine girl!
July 3, 2006 at 8:49 am
She’s working the classic jeans/crisp white shirt look, but mixing it up with a dose of androgyny. She reminds me of Mia Farrow in days gone by…
July 3, 2006 at 9:13 am
i’m not sure if that is a boy or a girl, but they look fantastic. the confidence!
July 3, 2006 at 9:16 am
Wow , Mia Farrow’s back
July 3, 2006 at 9:22 am
pretty unbelievable. jean seberg. your trip once again affirms that paris easily remains thé fashion and style capital of the world. i’m awed by their guts and sheer joie de habiller.
July 3, 2006 at 9:43 am
So cute and stylish! This is what I think of when I think of French chic. Being able to make the simplest outfit seem vibrant and special.
And it doesn’t hurt that she looks so comfortable in front o fthe camera. I love the look on her face. She just *knows* that she looks good. Confidence is what really makes that outfit rock.
July 3, 2006 at 10:34 am
that’s a beautiful photo. i love your work.
July 3, 2006 at 10:40 am
Beautiful… such classic style. I love women who can pull off this haircut. Love her belt worn to the side. Everything… plus a great attitude! Is that young Mia Farrow ;-)
July 3, 2006 at 11:03 am
i can see why! the simply style … the hair! wow. it’s beautiful all around. cheers! mav
July 3, 2006 at 11:07 am
great shot!! This gal has that 60s Mia Farrow vibe that is awesome. I like the way she buckles her belt off to the side on the hip, nice 1950s touch.
July 3, 2006 at 11:14 am
She exudes confidence and self-security. The epitome of je ne sais quoi.
July 3, 2006 at 11:21 am
Perfection! This is the Paris I dream of…Thank you for the perfect summer Jean Seberg moment.
July 3, 2006 at 11:59 am
she or he?sorry…
July 3, 2006 at 12:14 pm
It didn’t catch my eye till after I had spent some time admiring the hair, but…damn, I love that belt turned sideways! Glad to see other girls doing it.
July 3, 2006 at 12:18 pm
That´s a great haircut….short hair was created for features like those, a quirky sexy angel.
The white shirt is superb, the jeans are great not too tight but close to the body.Great shades too…In two words: Great picture!
July 3, 2006 at 12:55 pm
I love her.
July 3, 2006 at 1:16 pm
Holy mad love. Is that Mia Farrow or Jean Seberg? Everyone’s got a white shirt like this. Everyone’s got a pair of cropped jeans. But not everyone can put it all together to get this.
July 3, 2006 at 1:52 pm
Amazing, beautiful. This is my ideal right here.
July 3, 2006 at 2:18 pm
Androgeny is the new black.
July 3, 2006 at 3:10 pm
I would love somebody could shoot me with so much talent. Natural and well-being… no more to look good and be charming but… catch it on a picture: Bravo again! This girl looks beautiful, peaceful, energetic.I have to acknowledge I guess I am becoming a sartorialistaddict ;)I’m listening to “La Ritournelle” by Sebastien Tellier It’s an interesting match.Thx 4 sharing your photos.Marie, Paris
July 3, 2006 at 3:39 pm
oh, to be thin enough to wear my own shirts tucked in and still reveal such an elegant line…!
July 3, 2006 at 3:40 pm
Way to go, Sartorialist! Thanks for showing us that you don’t have to be ultra-feminine or masculine to be cool. This one is rocking the androgyne look!
July 3, 2006 at 3:41 pm
July 3, 2006 at 4:40 pm
Wow. If only I could be that chic.
July 3, 2006 at 5:10 pm
I like the sideways belt–when did this come in, or go out of, style?
July 3, 2006 at 5:11 pm
July 3, 2006 at 6:36 pm
Was she sitting with Jean Paul Belmondo?
July 3, 2006 at 6:46 pm
this girl~boy is perfect.
July 3, 2006 at 9:27 pm
great beatnik look – lovely!
July 3, 2006 at 11:08 pm
I really don’t understand the uproar over this photo. A skinny chick with short hair? I’m sensing a bit of the Emperors New Clothes syndrome here.
As for the people asking whether this woman is a boy or girl. Exactly. It is a woman turning out a boy-girl look.
Are there no chic people over the age over 50 in Paris. Of course there are…please let’s see them.
The posts are starting to look like Teen Vogue Scott.
July 3, 2006 at 11:57 pm
Effortless style. Great shot, Sartorialist, this woman is gorgeous.
July 4, 2006 at 1:44 am
I believe it is a she, very stylish in a punk sort of way. I was puzzled too but just look at the arms, ankles, shoes…the rest is hard, but the hair, short as it is has the style of a womans/girls cut.
July 4, 2006 at 3:02 am
I’m not sure why some people are obsessing over gender. Either way, I think we can agree this is a great shot, crisp outfit, and tres chic!
July 4, 2006 at 4:40 am
Sartorialist – was she French? Did you talk to her? I really have to find this out, because I’m telling you she looks exactly like my cousin, who by the way also has really great style (and who isn’t French)Anyway I think this is also one of my favorite looks. There’s something about her that makes me think she’s so fascinating and looks efortlessly cool even 5 seconds before going to bed.
July 4, 2006 at 5:14 am
cool!! like a supermodel
July 4, 2006 at 8:15 am
Jean Seberg wannabe maybe?
July 4, 2006 at 11:30 am
Chic and modern.I’m a fashion lover in Brazil. I’m crazy about the bike photos and all this looks.Ok, you got taste. This is all i’m asking for!kiss
July 4, 2006 at 11:43 am
You mean, Café right?
July 4, 2006 at 5:18 pm
I think she’s french. I used to see her every morning of the Quay d’Orsay, and yes with the same style
July 5, 2006 at 3:51 pm
she looks like jean seburg in breathless…..i met js in san francisco in 1956 or 7….she had just finished ST. Joan. She was so fresh and lovely…and kind.
July 6, 2006 at 8:51 am
She looks like a young Mia farrow
February 10, 2008 at 3:15 pm
The French know how to wear clothes (even though Jean Seberg was American wasn’t she?) – what they DON’T know how to do is experiment or try the unsafe………..the PARIS streets are filled with men wearing the same shirt rolled up just below the elbow and jeans, they all look great but it certainly isn’t LONDON
April 18, 2008 at 1:03 pm
i wish i could pull off a mia farrow crop too! She looks amaazing.. You really do know how to capture that effortless feel of life..
August 4, 2011 at 1:07 am
That haircut is NOT safe. That is one woman who def experiments with style. I love how she put the collar up.
August 8, 2011 at 12:29 pm
I can see why. Very cool!
The Celluloid Kid
August 17, 2011 at 9:34 am

October 13, 2011 at 5:40 pm
cool and tight
love it :)
October 31, 2011 at 10:00 am
Stunning. A beautiful example of how sense of style is about knowing oneself, not dressing a part. (and yes! those are definitely patent Birkenstocks)
November 14, 2011 at 3:10 pm
I love everything about her!! #inspired
January 21, 2012 at 5:18 am

January 21, 2012 at 9:36 am
