Love the coat and sweater, but the beanie looks kind of ‘conehead’.
Beautiful photo, love the colors!

If I may be so bold…: “France, we come from France!”
January 4, 2013 at 11:08 am
I adore the purply knit hat…I wonder if it’s a handknit? I love she’s wearly it lightly on her head, not scrunched down to her ears. Actually it could be worn that way too. Hats are more versatile than we give them credit for.
January 4, 2013 at 4:28 pm
I feel like that punch of unexpectedness is what makes this outfit so awesome.
January 4, 2013 at 11:10 am
Really?!?! I’m no fashionista, but BagLady Chic is one I’ll pass on.
January 7, 2013 at 1:57 am
I totally agree!!
love her sweater!
January 4, 2013 at 11:11 am
What a fun picture. Is she looking at her reflection in all this gold ?(l’Eau d’Hadrien by Annick Goutal is a favorite of mine.)
January 4, 2013 at 11:18 am
Very very cute picture.
The colors – the whole outfit is adorable. And her posture and facial expression is so funny.
January 4, 2013 at 11:25 am

She’s so inventive, creative–like what she did with the knit cap, as well as the colors.
January 4, 2013 at 11:37 am
Absolutely love the colour matching here, and her coat is so so gorgeous!
January 4, 2013 at 11:39 am

Fabulous unique style and she looks simultaneously coy and proud. It’s an expressive picture. Well taken!

Funny and original !
January 4, 2013 at 1:57 pm
This is so much fun! And your composition is fabulously complimentary, as usual…
January 4, 2013 at 2:05 pm
Good one Scott, looks a tad stage managed to me. Let’s see how many people take the bait! You reeled ‘em in!
Violent purple wool hat with a ‘matching’ blood red bath robe, car seat cover sweater and off cut skirt. Nice.
Sorry, fun photo but I don’t think looking like an extra from One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest will light up the streets of Paris.
But then again . . .
January 4, 2013 at 10:05 pm
Or maybe she is just laughing because she is a student and these are the only things NOT in her hamper today.

Oh, this is casual-smart in the funkiest, coolest, Sartorialist-ist way possible!
January 4, 2013 at 4:38 pm
Love this image, and esp. the shape of her hat foreshadowing the Annick Goutal bottles in the window…super, as always.
January 5, 2013 at 12:57 pm
Agreed, it’s the shape of her hat that echoes the shape of the perfume bottles in a very irreverent way that makes the image fun and quirky.
January 4, 2013 at 4:52 pm
I love that coat!
January 4, 2013 at 5:42 pm
Is she wearing a phrygian cap – in a blue version? She could be waiting for Philippe Égalité, or some fun at Palais Royal.
January 4, 2013 at 5:52 pm
Love it already but her smile does everything for her!
January 4, 2013 at 6:05 pm

January 5, 2013 at 1:51 pm
Love the coat! And her smile is adorable! She could have done without that hat though!
January 5, 2013 at 8:41 pm
There is a group called the Red Hat Society. They are ladies over 50 who wear red hats with purple. During their birthday months, they reverse this…wearing purple hats with red clothing. This look is FAR from original and shouts out that she is a 50+ year old woman in her birthday month. Women under 50 who belong to this club would wear pink and lavender in the same fashion. This is really the only excuse for this look…it is really atrocious.
January 5, 2013 at 9:17 pm
I love it. Its weird, but totally cool. What do the words say. It looks like one word is “evil”, and one is “spirits”. If its even English. Man, I love, love those beanie type hats. i wear them with everything too.
January 5, 2013 at 9:31 pm
people are so pretentious here, this outfit is nasty!
January 6, 2013 at 12:05 am

Thank you for returning to the street style characters rather than the fabulous fashion stars. Of course, fashion week will change the equation, but all in all, it’s great to see perfectly anonymous people on this blog again.

in ciabatte, calzini antiscivolo e berretto del 6 gennaio è difficile non apparire sciatta e scialba…
January 9, 2013 at 9:25 am
LOVE this. and she has a face that’s a throwback to the Joan Crawford (early!) years..
January 10, 2013 at 9:22 am
She somehow reminds me of Marge Simpson :)

I’m indifferent to her clothes: all I see is that glorious smile! What a stunning beauty.
