Oh agreed. Only a lucky few get to travel the world, taking in each pocket of culture, watching as it Venn Diagram’s its way across a continent. This picture is a gorgeous snapshot of one person, one life, one thought, one outfit, one city. Stunning.

your right! i want to leave my warm country and go to a country which is in winter atm, crazy stuff
Great Silhouette. Funny how his hair and shoes are both the same dark, and everything in between light
January 10, 2013 at 8:39 am
Hey, I was going to say something about the hair and the shoes too! :D
I love the blazer, so vintage and cool. This guy’s cool!

This photo cracked me up! Why does it almost look like he’s floating, just hovering above the ground? I’m hoping this man has a serious sense of humor. Gotta love those shoes though. And the glasses too.
The blazer works nicely with the white knit – great look!

Isn’t that the dude from Portlandia? (Kidding)
My first thought, too…Florendia?

I agree! You just want to pick him up & put him in your pocket.
January 5, 2013 at 9:36 pm
Anyone else picture him with a leggy girlfriend about four inches taller then him? Guys like that always have super hot partners for some reason.
January 4, 2013 at 2:15 pm
You do have an eye for the unique, don’t you? His outfit matches himself perfectly, I like this photo very much. I love his shoes too, very rich looking… I recommend that each time you see a smoker that you encourage them to replace the cigarette with a non-lit pipe. : )
January 4, 2013 at 2:20 pm
Really? Too short pants with tons of wrinkles, baggy jacket with sleeves that are too short. The doors he is standing in front of are beautiful, but I’m not sure about his look. Somehow I’m getting visions of Urkle.
January 4, 2013 at 2:23 pm
One of the best yet. Love the simple composition with stone, metal and wood textures. Love the whole look. This dude’s got class from the glasses down! The jumper is beautiful and the whole colour palette flows down to the shoes. Excellent!
January 4, 2013 at 2:30 pm
LOVE THE COLOR… just perfect, except for the trousers shape on him.. mh.
…and that background! beautiful door. Sorry my english, necesito practica :S

What an AMAZING portrait!! All the elements came together so perfectly…
January 4, 2013 at 3:35 pm
I love his pose! Unusual, but definitely interesting. He seems to have a good sense of humor.
January 4, 2013 at 3:43 pm
I don’t know how to describe the love I feel for this outfti hahaha is something that I would wear thinking twice !
The shoes and how he combine with the socks and the colors of the jacket and jumper. The chic blazar of of course the cigarette hahaha.
The glasses, oh my! It have too much style.
January 4, 2013 at 3:46 pm
I would have loved to see a whole picture of that magnificient old door with the gorgeous metal work. I checked on the internet and found out the Fortezza is a hotel but where is this door coming from ?
January 4, 2013 at 8:20 pm
i guess is Milano… Sfortzesco castle maybe
January 5, 2013 at 4:09 pm
Thank you Norma.
January 4, 2013 at 4:30 pm
I don’t care if the outfit is questionable, the composition of this photograph is glorious.
January 4, 2013 at 4:42 pm
he looks so quirky, love this photo.
January 4, 2013 at 4:59 pm
Not one damn thing fits … A total disaster.
January 4, 2013 at 6:16 pm
Agreed! Looks like he can’t be bothered – sometimes this works – but not this time. Well, to try and be a little more open-minded – maybe if he put his arm down and his pants had fit… yeah, and dark pants would’ve been much better – oh, OH – olive cargo pants – perfect!
January 4, 2013 at 6:12 pm
Love the expression on his face, a little bit confused, yet confident.
January 4, 2013 at 6:37 pm
Nice jacket but pants too short.

This man tells a story by the way he dresses. Very quirky and artsy look.
In the East end of London (the creative hub) this a typical look.
Nonetheless, I have to say that the jacket is beautiful.
And the photo is spectacular
January 4, 2013 at 7:19 pm
Damned! This winter I missed Pitti!

Fred Armison! I love this look but it seems to work best on skinny guys, which I’m not. The jacket is great.
January 4, 2013 at 8:17 pm
the pants really bring this outfit to the dumps
January 4, 2013 at 9:33 pm
Sorry, I hate his pants (they must be his sister’s). Otherwise, this is a nice photograph.

I adore this photo because I can’t ever recall seeing a bowl haircut, short wrinkly flood pants, and coke bottle glasses all merging at once into one bad ass stunning look!!!!

I adore the photos. I’m not that much into fashion but the pics made me thinking about beeing more serious with my own “photographer’s life”.

This guy is AMAZING.
So perfect in each detail.
January 5, 2013 at 2:06 am

Today, wrong trousers! … charming look though
January 5, 2013 at 8:12 am
Looks like someone has been watchimng early Jerry Lewis films. :-s
Think it would of looked better as an outfit with a bit more colour, to neutral, purple jumper perhaps…. :)
January 5, 2013 at 9:17 am

January 5, 2013 at 1:11 pm
Glasses= For sure
pants hem line= BOO! I think the high water look is silly. I have begun to realize the advantage of not swinging too extreme in fashion and remaining tied to classic proportions. The tight jeans I bought years ago are just too tight! :)
I realize my clothes are meant to last years. They will grow with me and compliment my style and age.

Tell me, did he choose pose like that or did you direct him?

I want to meet this guy! He seems like someone you want to talk to. Love the jacket, the pants length and the screwy haircut.

This guy has been featured several times with EXACTLY THE SAME outfit….Well, one time with another pair of trousers (deep green with lilac peacock pattern) which is better then this one.
I used to adore his look, but seems like…..

I love the color pallete because it maks that great jacket to stand out..
January 6, 2013 at 11:28 pm
I am an american who has lived in Florence for many years, ánd this is very poor, hipster crap..
Those who are mature in taste and style are nothing like this..
The classical italian and English style is where it’s at..artisan made fine shoes and suits, sport coats, handkerchiefs, shirts, trousers,etc..
He is no representative of Italian style I assure you.
January 7, 2013 at 8:02 am
He’s wearing socks!!! I love it!!! I love men and women wearing socks, it looks så stylish!
January 7, 2013 at 9:06 am
he looks like a local surfer in biarritz
January 7, 2013 at 2:53 pm
HAAAAAAAAAAAHAHaaahahahahah! This is my new favorite one Mr. Schuman. I hate how the dam kids stand in street style blogs these days in time; they stand like skeletons knee deep in cowshit or something. This is too dope because it goes against that norm. Almost like homie is say “eh whatevs.”
January 7, 2013 at 3:30 pm
Cool. I like the highwaters, glasses & haircut.
January 8, 2013 at 3:26 am
Thank goodness for the comment of “P.”
Is everyone going blind? This is not sartorial splendor.
The best dressed gentleman in Florence are usually older men, who claim the elegance of the past.
The young ones look like each other the world over, wearing ugly wrinkled up old clothes that cost a fortune. They kept getting in my shot when I was visiting Florence. Vai! Vai!
January 8, 2013 at 3:55 am
It is not a flattering outfit, yet this is the first portrait in a very long time that gives me an exciting feeling. Usually, fashion portraits tend to be glossy and in a way quite exchangeable. It’s chaps perfectly groomed and women who are absolutely beautiful, but somehow, I always feel like it’s a waste of time, thoughts and energy that’s spent on mere appearences. With this guy, it’s different. I can’t really put it into words. But it feels fresh and good.
IS THIS IT? models review

I could never wear trousers of this length, but he certainly looks good…

The mind toggles smells, fabric, words and etc. to configure something of remembrance, but my dear gent, your fabrication is of the familiar but yet distinct. The poet’s uniform met with the comfortability and rapport of the artist. The medium between character, image and personality; how did you conceive.
January 17, 2013 at 10:13 pm
Love the strong texture of the doors, makes for a terrific photograph, and I applaud the guy for his unique style and confidence. However, it doesn’t work for me. I like the shoes, but even those look like they’ve seen better days.
