Above the waist is very nice. His tights and her pants are a mistake, and her shoes have an icky foot-binding vibe – I think it comes from the short distance between toe and heel and the very low sole.

With all due respect, I'm sorry, CW, but I'm inclined to disagree with you.

He pulls this ensemble off with such flair and confidence that any missteps he might have made (I see none, as the case may be – he looks incredibly chic, in a nontraditional way) should be forgiven. The proportions are correct, the layering is genius, the various shades and textures of black all work together, and even the 30's/40's American Industrial-style boots (they really evoke images of a chimney sweep or a factory worker for me) seem to work in harmony with the rest of the pieces. His slick, almost seductive grin is a perfect finishing touch.
His partner's ensemble is simply flawless, IMO. From the effortless drape of her scarf, to the chic layering (read: single-button blazer under leather & fur bomber), and her pleated pant. The pump is marvelously elegant – detailed, yet simple. Her frame and even the cut of her hair tie it all together.

Scott, the idea to capture the both of them in black & white (and slightly off center – was this intentional???) is brilliant. It makes the image all the more striking.

They are a beautiful couple.
