January 2, 2013 at 9:37 am
Not just a great fashion shot – a great shot! Epitomises the awe the visitor feels in the great city of New York. Like.
January 2, 2013 at 9:53 am
Casual but sexy…love the “city” mood of the pic!
January 2, 2013 at 10:05 am
great picture, love this look.
January 2, 2013 at 10:09 am
Great traveling ensemble!
January 2, 2013 at 10:11 am
She looks like she’s going off on a great adventure. Wonderful!
January 4, 2013 at 6:21 am
Of course she will have to stop along the way and pull up her pants.
January 17, 2013 at 7:09 pm
Maybe she just took somw clother from her ex boyfriend. ..anyway she looks like she is heading for a new beggining
January 2, 2013 at 10:12 am
awesome oversized look! xo, Alma
January 2, 2013 at 10:14 am
I don’t know if I love or not her look …
it’s clear she took the pants of her man , but it’s too masculine for me ..
January 2, 2013 at 12:45 pm
For me too!
The Tailored Two
January 2, 2013 at 10:15 am
Love this! She has such a easy and natural style about her.
January 2, 2013 at 10:35 am
Let’s be honest. The look is terrible but the girl is stunning. Objectively speaking that should not compensate. Standards please.
January 2, 2013 at 7:05 pm
I agree HG. It’s the girl’s beauty that is eye-catching. She is so very beautiful that her attempt to disguise it from head to toe with shapeless blandness is unsuccessful.
January 5, 2013 at 8:42 am
Agree with you both.
March 20, 2017 at 10:47 am
And that is what makes it an interesting shot. She is obviously trying to not be noticed. Its still obvious that she is stunning. I really hate the pants, but the overall effect is exciting, and the sweater is amazing.
January 2, 2013 at 10:38 am
Love love love! xx
January 2, 2013 at 10:52 am
She could be a grunged out Dorothy landing in Oz circa 1992! Great shot and a great look.

One of my favorites.
January 2, 2013 at 11:15 am
January 2, 2013 at 11:35 am
where is she going
dressed up like a boy
looking like a woman?
Despite the fancy duffle bag and tote, there’s a beatnik vibe about her…maybe from being On the Road.
January 2, 2013 at 11:38 am
Packed and ready for a new year full of projects! :)
January 2, 2013 at 11:40 am
I missed your photos for those few days! Love this one!
January 2, 2013 at 11:48 am
casual outfit …. she is moving … she is waiting for a novelty …. welcome into 2013 …
xoxo Lelli, italian fashion family
January 2, 2013 at 11:52 am
Love her luggage choices!
January 2, 2013 at 12:08 pm
Love the loose fit and the fab black shoes. Those super tight outfits that can be seen everywhere bore me sooo much. It is not the tighter the better …
January 2, 2013 at 12:13 pm
Good picture because it shows something more than fashion.
January 2, 2013 at 12:21 pm
very cool street of new york

January 2, 2013 at 12:24 pm
What’s all this talk dressing like a man, or dressing like a woman? Surely we’re beyond that now?
Love the photograph/outfit. She looks beautiful.

January 2, 2013 at 12:42 pm
I love how all your pictures catch people doing their best model pose.
January 2, 2013 at 12:57 pm
Nice image to start the new year,on the go.
January 2, 2013 at 1:09 pm
Really lovable. She looks like leaving for a City Safari.
Laura Vidrequin…she is stunning. This is also the most dressed down I have ever seen her. Awesome shot.
January 2, 2013 at 1:26 pm
**GASP** I just love this.
Heels & Peplum
I love her sweater and her masculine pants!

January 2, 2013 at 1:44 pm
I like the perspective of the photo, the colors and movement of the background more than the foreground subject.
January 2, 2013 at 1:51 pm
A perfect sweater!
Sea and Swank
January 2, 2013 at 2:11 pm
love it, great feeling about this girl and her style choice. looks like she feels good too.
January 2, 2013 at 2:22 pm
LOVE those jeans!
john b pritchett
January 2, 2013 at 2:24 pm
Great photograph, love the juxtaposition of the workers and her clothing. However, have to agree with HG (above).
This is the most beautiful pair of jeans a woman can wish for.
January 2, 2013 at 2:54 pm
Baggy jeans, a warm sweater, brogue…love everything!
January 2, 2013 at 3:24 pm
Really great pic. Have a nice day.
January 2, 2013 at 3:26 pm
i saw this picture in Closer and its one of my favourites. everything in this picture looks so right
January 2, 2013 at 3:42 pm
Simply awful…..whatever happened to elegance even when travelling?
January 2, 2013 at 4:19 pm
Loving it from the waist up – not feeling the pants/shoes though.
Having uncovered my Dad’s Aran sweater in the storage closet this week, I’m looking forward to putting it into rotation –
January 2, 2013 at 5:36 pm
its so nice to see that the original street-style artist continues to post real street style and not exclusively models and celebrities. Really love it always have…
January 2, 2013 at 6:09 pm
Something about the proportions of the sweater to jeans leaves her legs looking very short for her height … I’m not sure I like it.
January 2, 2013 at 6:28 pm
great pic as always my friend
January 2, 2013 at 7:32 pm
I like how she looks like shes going somewhere, like shes finding her direction through the city. The whole look with the luggage is great
January 2, 2013 at 8:13 pm
This look is completely inspiring.
Trying…but not too hard…
January 2, 2013 at 8:32 pm
There is little I love more than a cream-colored cable-knit sweater!
January 2, 2013 at 9:33 pm
Love this look and the contrast nice pic!
January 2, 2013 at 10:38 pm
Loving this. From the city to the luggage and back to the clothing, this picture in it’s entirety reminds me of little Natalie Portman in The Professional.
Adore your site xoxo
January 2, 2013 at 10:54 pm
There is something sexy wearing mens inspired pieces, I love this look on her.

January 3, 2013 at 2:21 am
Perfection of casualty.
January 3, 2013 at 5:27 am
Has she been previously photographed in a furry hat, a green jacket & low boots during an NYC winter & a lot of admirable attitude . . . have to find that photo to compare.
January 3, 2013 at 6:22 am
My head just exploded. Everything about this photo is interesting. What’s in her bags? Where is she going? What does her hair look like under that beanie? What’s happening behind her? What’s on that neon pink flyer?
I just need to be in New York right now.
January 3, 2013 at 9:03 am
Interesting that she has all her hair covered while in clothes that hides her feminine appeal yet still attractive. Makes me curious what if she had pulled her hat back just a bit to show a glimpse of her hair…

January 3, 2013 at 11:01 am
Is it Laura???
January 3, 2013 at 12:41 pm
this is my absolute favorite photo!!
with the workmen in the background, she looks like a modern version of those 1940s working women that were pictured in denim overalls and head scarves– they alwyas looked so strong and independent and proud.
the critical comments above (about the clothes being shapeless and manly) make no sense to me at all. in this context, the clothes are not for displaying the body but for evoking a sense of possibility and adventure and comfort and ruggedness– how could any of those things not be considered beautiful? a strong woman is ALWAYS a sexy woman.
January 3, 2013 at 12:55 pm
This shot is magical!
January 3, 2013 at 1:33 pm
This is NOT FASHION! I love the Sartorialist but too often as in this case…the pics are simply of beautiful skinny people who has on anything!
January 3, 2013 at 1:36 pm
Looking at the gentlemen in the backgroundm this photo could do double-duty as part of a a feature: “If You’re Thinking About – Orange Reflective Vests.” Heh.
January 3, 2013 at 2:09 pm
Menswear chic at its finest. I love the shoes.
January 3, 2013 at 5:34 pm
Love the cable knit sweater – very ralph lauren !
January 3, 2013 at 6:15 pm
great picture!!! :*
January 3, 2013 at 6:51 pm
She’s a little runnnn-away! I have always loved this style, runaway near Port Authority
January 3, 2013 at 7:46 pm
the sweater’s from the h&m men’s department!
January 3, 2013 at 8:56 pm
This look is amazing — People clearly don’t understand how much STYLE is really in this image. The bag on the left has to be a vintage Dior and the one on the right looks a lot like the Celine bags even if it obviously is not. Its really interesting that she is so androgynous — those pants are great. Its street style photography! She is on the street and has a lot of style…!
January 3, 2013 at 9:37 pm
I would love to wear this…my husband would hate me to wear this…

I love the hat, love the sweeter. Love the boots. But I can’t help but feel like she needs to yank those trousers up before they fall around her ankles. I have a pair of jeans just like that, and thats what i always have to do myself. So…I dunno. Yes and NO. I definitely like the very feminine, but very andro at the same time vibe.
January 4, 2013 at 12:42 pm
happy new year I really like this look
January 4, 2013 at 6:52 pm
Intriguing shot. Like a movie still.
January 4, 2013 at 10:55 pm
If I ever run away from home, I would love to look like this, bag and all.
January 5, 2013 at 7:50 am
i just felt the need to comment, i don’t even know what to say though! it’s just, this look is so amazing in an understated way! the beanie, the jeans, that sweater, the shoes…perfect somehow. and also it remidns me of Harry Styles haha.
January 5, 2013 at 8:43 am
Looks like she raided her beau’s closet because she was without other options.
January 7, 2013 at 12:40 pm
This is how I like to believe I look when I get dressed, but I don’t think I’m ever this successful.
January 7, 2013 at 5:33 pm
j’adore ce look easy porté avec allure !
January 8, 2013 at 3:44 am

I think you have enough photos of the Celine Luggage Tote to do a “If you’re thinking about Celine” Tribute. I’m completely enamoured by this bag and it had my complete devotion…., until I saw Dries’ spring collection…..
January 9, 2013 at 2:29 pm
totally love the look, especially the cut of the jeans/how the jeans fit. it is very difficult for a woman to find a fit like this. Jeans from ladies dpt won’t do all being slim, those cut for men are intended for small gent butts. however the truth is, 90% of all clothes i purchased last year i picked in gent dpt. they just do better clothes for you.

On the Street……rue Saint Hyacinthe, Paris
Yes that is the same girl, I acually like this look better than the one from Mach.
January 21, 2013 at 5:24 pm
Love the relaxed style of street wear… wish always to dress like that…
This picture has a special alure…
January 22, 2013 at 2:52 am
Oh yeah, loooooove her look. Very cool. And comfy. What’s not to like…
The Viewfinder (Kevin van Diest)
January 23, 2013 at 5:09 am
This is still one of my favourites, not because of your outfit …but more the total scene. As she is leaving her partner(perhaps because of cheating) and looking kinda lost. Her world stops, however NY lives on ….visualized by those streetworkers. Awesome schot Scott! Saw it also in Closer, however I prefer this one over that cropped version in the book.
Inspiring shot …such I’d like to add to my blog(http://theviewfinder.nl) someday.
February 19, 2013 at 6:38 am
Great photo, and we can read so many things into her “story,” but this is just a terrible outfit. The sweater is lovely, but the jeans, the hat, and the shoes don’t work on her or with each other at all.
October 8, 2013 at 3:36 am
I love the contrast between a travelling women and a working with very good loghting
