Totally relaxed?! Are you familiar with the manic, self-annihilating life of Clift, esp. after the car accident (this pic dates from that period, I suspect)?
One of the high points of 2012 was discovering The Sartorialist. How many times since I spent hours doing “just one more” on Random Posts. Happy New Year 2013.
Go see him in “Suddenly, Last Summer,” if you’ve not seen it yet; and see it again, if you have. A wonderfully “over the top” Tennessee Williams script – and the “top” here which this goes “over” is, like, Mount Everest!

Aw! This is the very image that was on the postcard I bought while visiting NYC in 1987. For some reason it represented that city to me – super cool and reeking of cigarettes.
