Oh that girl… she is perfection. She makes fur work for her age and brings it straight out of the ‘vintage’ look that fur is often associated with when worn by the younger generation. The flash of red is also genius.

Love the photo! Love the magazine! :)

and she loves monocle :)

The mix of high and low that Scott wrote about here reminds me of a photo that was included in the first book. There is a lovely woman wearing a cashmere coat with a synthetic anorak underneath. Their ages, pallettes and style are polar opposites, however both women are very gorgeous and very chic, in accordance with their personal vision of creating looks.
I think designers should take hoodies & fur to another level. So much potential.
December 18, 2012 at 4:29 pm
I agree and I love this look, but maybe not such a ratty looking hoodie. Maybe a cool cashmere or sweater hoodie and a fur???
December 21, 2012 at 9:24 pm
Nah. Thats the perfect hoodie. Its not a hoodie unless its thick cotton and a bit worn.
December 18, 2012 at 9:13 am
fur still sucks in 2012

Its awesome how wearing fur now makes you a total rebel. Things have come a long way around.
December 23, 2012 at 12:26 pm
it’s not rebellious in a likeable way to wear fur, it’s more like smug or even showy. maybe more acceptable if it’s old/vintage fur, but at the same time, now one who sees it knows that.
January 1, 2013 at 2:50 am
Its rebellious in a brave way, considering you have crazy people that think its up to them to tell others what they can wear, and what they should feel. Freedom is still likeable to some of us.
THE STEL STYLE
beautiful mix style!!!! interesting outfit!!!
The fur is beautiful but as an animal lover . . .
Love the monochrome palette with the splash of fiery red. Danger!
Beautiful portrait, balanced and harmonised . . .

I like how you turn casual moment into something awesome. Love the combination of colors and the girl also..

Conceptual? More like she probably was in a rush.

Sorry I find it horrible sporty and chic together??? No way (excerpt for a pair of jeans)
December 18, 2012 at 9:24 am
That little smile curve on her lips matches the situation perfectly. She looks great and Scott is shooting her:)
December 18, 2012 at 9:25 am
Love the bag!!! Tailgate!!!
I do like the fur jacket….

i love her, so stylish all the time
December 18, 2012 at 9:32 am
Very nice pic, she looks amazing. I like her fur coat. Have a nice day.
wow…she could make any look work :)

I love this too! It’s like the shot you posted previously of the woman in all denim with dressy shoes and camel coat. It’s all in the mix that reveals your style.
I also totally agree with Simbarashe – I’d like to see hoodies elevated. I have a couple of furs, one given to me and another that belonged to my grandmother. I rarely wear them for fear of judgement – something I normally don’t care about. Weird.

New Post on Purses in the Kitchen!
December 18, 2012 at 9:45 am
Agreed, great combo!!
The hoodie & beanie make the fur seem sporty and functional, not some sort of statement piece (a statement I’d rather not hear).
December 18, 2012 at 9:48 am
love her mix of fur and sporty style! xo, Alma
December 18, 2012 at 10:00 am
Very interesting mixture of style and texture. She has lovely cheek bones and that red hat is just too cute!
December 18, 2012 at 10:11 am
That photo reminds me a old picture from Miroslava Duma with a NY jumper and red tights!
December 18, 2012 at 10:15 am
I always love the grey and red mixing. Great portrait!
December 18, 2012 at 10:16 am
I’ve got my grandmother’s fur jacket in my closet…now I know how to wear it! Make it contemporary with the color pop of a red hat and a hoodie. Thanks Sartorialist! First, I dug out the leopard print faux fur jacket my sister gave me years ago…now it’s time to do the same with my grandmother’s fur.
December 18, 2012 at 10:18 am
Great hipster style!
December 18, 2012 at 10:24 am
either wear the sweatshirt or the fur but not at the same time, this look doesn’t work for me
Love the style and the use of color! Demonstrating yet again that style is not about trends and brands – but a specific sensibility! The Monocle bag does not hurt either – I am a fan!
December 18, 2012 at 10:26 am
interesting look :)

Love this look, and this photo! So much in good design and music today is a mash up of two seemingly incongruous things, but when you hear or see them you instantly love their pairing. She is gorgeous and brilliant to put this look together: Sophisticated but totally approachable and fun.

December 18, 2012 at 12:07 pm
Wow, I’d never think of pairing a hoodie and fur (faux?) together. She pulls it off though!
Love that she’s carrying a Monocle bag also :)
December 18, 2012 at 12:21 pm
The combination of fur and hoodie is odd and not stylish to me.
Take off the fur jacket and show your beautiful youth !
December 18, 2012 at 12:24 pm
The confidence is palpable. Sometimes it is hard to believe there is so much beauty out there…you bring a smile to my face today. And for some reason I think she has a very sweet granny that gave her the fur.
December 18, 2012 at 12:55 pm
Yes, perfect!! Cool combination!!
December 18, 2012 at 12:56 pm
yes ! so perfect mix ! she looks so cool with her fur and hoodie. I would love to find a short simple fur coat like hers
December 18, 2012 at 1:14 pm
Unexpected and wonderful look. Of course it does help that she is young, thin, and totally spectacular looking.

December 18, 2012 at 2:47 pm
I just love the pic.
December 18, 2012 at 3:56 pm
the only place fur looks good is on an animal
December 18, 2012 at 4:42 pm
She is gorgeous which is why she can pull that look. Do people seriously think that they can pull off that combination if they looked just average…I don’t think so. : ) And I still prefer that she did not associate the hoodie with that beautiful fur.
December 19, 2012 at 6:38 am
Absolutely agree with you. She could wear anything and look stylish. Love the look on her but on me it would look shabby. Still love the picture a lot.
December 19, 2012 at 12:14 pm
I do too…thank you for agreeing with me…sometimes people that I see here in LA forget this and think that they can pull off this look : ) It disturbs the visual environment.
December 18, 2012 at 5:27 pm
Love the pop of colour on her head and the long straight hair.
December 18, 2012 at 6:02 pm
she looks stunning !!
December 18, 2012 at 8:13 pm
W0w, I love this. Too often in fashion you see people walking around in clothes that one might wear to some extravagent event, and all they are doing is their grocery shopping. I think it’s amazing to see something that kind of brings the concept of fashion and still being fashionable, down to earth a bit. I think the hoodie is a fantastic addition to the outfit – and where can I get myself one of those coats!
December 18, 2012 at 8:15 pm
I love this – brings the concept of fashionable back down to earth.
December 18, 2012 at 8:19 pm
Love the mix of styles in this photo.
December 18, 2012 at 9:23 pm
Hoodie and fur. ABSOLUTELY GENIUS. This girl deserves an award, for real.
December 19, 2012 at 12:57 am
Sorry, but fur is never perfect unless it’s on the living animal it belongs to. I’d rather see an Hermes scarf or Chloe skirt being taken to the next level.
December 19, 2012 at 1:37 am
well… to say the truth I’m not a big fan of that look : hoodie+fur+uggs= typical moscow style of winter 2011
and the look is no more of originality when everybody is the same
this year it’s parka and beanie EVERYWHERE
December 19, 2012 at 2:08 am

December 19, 2012 at 7:01 am
I think she looks great! I used to wear very similar looks with vintage furs I bought from thrift shops back in college – early ’70s! I’d wear them until they fell apart, then go back for another the next winter.

She’s beautiful – all else is superfluous. Those eyes, lips, skin. I’d love to see her in the springtime in simple linens for a genuine beauty needs no accessories nor editorial comment.
December 19, 2012 at 9:22 pm
THE perfect way to make a vintage fur jacket modern. Timeless, ageless, stylish.
December 20, 2012 at 4:55 am
I know its risky to defend fur, but I think there is not enough info about the subject. To illustrate my point, the red fox is a great example. In Australia it represents a serious problem because it is harmful to native mammal and bird populations and its listed among the worst invasive species.
I personally love how it looks, and how warm it keeps you in the winter, but it sure seems cruel at first hand to kill an animal to dress. But nobody talks about veal leather, and its the same thing, only a different animal, right?
December 20, 2012 at 1:56 pm
Anytime you can take her picture is appreciated. She is fine!
