Oh that girl… she is perfection. She makes fur work for her age and brings it straight out of the ‘vintage’ look that fur is often associated with when worn by the younger generation. The flash of red is also genius.
it’s not rebellious in a likeable way to wear fur, it’s more like smug or even showy. maybe more acceptable if it’s old/vintage fur, but at the same time, now one who sees it knows that.
Its rebellious in a brave way, considering you have crazy people that think its up to them to tell others what they can wear, and what they should feel. Freedom is still likeable to some of us.
The fur is beautiful but as an animal lover . . .
Love the monochrome palette with the splash of fiery red. Danger!
Beautiful portrait, balanced and harmonised . . .
I love this too! It’s like the shot you posted previously of the woman in all denim with dressy shoes and camel coat. It’s all in the mix that reveals your style.
I also totally agree with Simbarashe – I’d like to see hoodies elevated. I have a couple of furs, one given to me and another that belonged to my grandmother. I rarely wear them for fear of judgement – something I normally don’t care about. Weird.
I’ve got my grandmother’s fur jacket in my closet…now I know how to wear it! Make it contemporary with the color pop of a red hat and a hoodie. Thanks Sartorialist! First, I dug out the leopard print faux fur jacket my sister gave me years ago…now it’s time to do the same with my grandmother’s fur.
Love the style and the use of color! Demonstrating yet again that style is not about trends and brands – but a specific sensibility! The Monocle bag does not hurt either – I am a fan!
Love this look, and this photo! So much in good design and music today is a mash up of two seemingly incongruous things, but when you hear or see them you instantly love their pairing. She is gorgeous and brilliant to put this look together: Sophisticated but totally approachable and fun.
The confidence is palpable. Sometimes it is hard to believe there is so much beauty out there…you bring a smile to my face today. And for some reason I think she has a very sweet granny that gave her the fur.
She is gorgeous which is why she can pull that look. Do people seriously think that they can pull off that combination if they looked just average…I don’t think so. : ) And I still prefer that she did not associate the hoodie with that beautiful fur.
Absolutely agree with you. She could wear anything and look stylish. Love the look on her but on me it would look shabby. Still love the picture a lot.
I do too…thank you for agreeing with me…sometimes people that I see here in LA forget this and think that they can pull off this look : ) It disturbs the visual environment.

well… to say the truth I’m not a big fan of that look : hoodie+fur+uggs= typical moscow style of winter 2011
and the look is no more of originality when everybody is the same

I think she looks great! I used to wear very similar looks with vintage furs I bought from thrift shops back in college – early ’70s! I’d wear them until they fell apart, then go back for another the next winter.
She’s beautiful – all else is superfluous. Those eyes, lips, skin. I’d love to see her in the springtime in simple linens for a genuine beauty needs no accessories nor editorial comment.
