This woman has put a lot of effort into being original, eccentric, unique. Art Institute students has a special ability to translate their inner world into something for all to see. Lovely.

The art scene can be a great source of inspiration for fashion.
Artists, students, gallerists, etc. their eccentric and original looks are a sight fo sore eyes!

she looks like she belongs in tokyo! :)
December 13, 2012 at 10:44 am
i agree. nice idea. but she’s artificial. i dont love this frill !
December 14, 2012 at 1:22 pm
I bought a small piece she’d made at SAIC’s student art sale. That was my first time meeting her in person. I was impressed by the skill that went into her metal work as well as how humble and frank she was when discussing what it took to make each piece.

She isn’t even wearing foundation. No make up, except the arty design by her eye. Nothing fake here.
December 13, 2012 at 1:24 pm
She looks a hundred times cooler and more authentic then the little clowns in Tokyo who have too much time on their hands. Besides, she is doing something useful, and I have never seen that done by a Tokyololli. You can just tell that this is simple for her. I don’t see how anyone could hate on this adorable human. She is perfect, and perfectly at ease.
December 14, 2012 at 1:27 pm
Agreed, and LOVE it!
December 12, 2012 at 8:30 pm
My favorite part of her look is the army man on her lapel! What a great look! I want her hair.
December 13, 2012 at 1:25 pm
I want her coat!
December 12, 2012 at 8:31 pm
Is that a sticker?
It’s not a tattoo, right??
December 12, 2012 at 11:13 pm
I know her!. She paints those on in different patterns everyday.
December 12, 2012 at 8:43 pm
Ah, I know this girl. She was in my core studio class.
She does amazing chainmail work!
December 12, 2012 at 9:00 pm
I could stare at every little detail for hours. She is a work of art herself.
December 12, 2012 at 9:01 pm
More candid street fashion pictures for inspiration and viewing pleasure please! Less other stuff!
December 13, 2012 at 6:18 am
right! Love the girl but she looks really “made up”.
January 10, 2013 at 9:15 am
This is her ‘every day’ look…..you’d be amazed at what you think you call ‘dressed up’. She walks to her own calling and is what she is….fabulous!
December 12, 2012 at 9:04 pm
I love the solider broach!
Very unique style.
December 12, 2012 at 9:13 pm
I have an IG picture of this girl. I live in San Francisco and I was fascinated by her head gear which she apparently makes herself out of chainmail. Fabulous!
December 12, 2012 at 9:21 pm
admire people that can put together a unique look and top it off with a great pin. love the necklace too
December 12, 2012 at 9:27 pm
I went to one of her fashion shows. She designs chain maille and i’m sure she designed that headpiece she is wearing. (At least i’m pretty sure this is the sam woman)
December 12, 2012 at 9:28 pm

if you guys like the stuff I am wearing/ my makeup, you should look at my website!
also the soldiers/cowboy that are on my jacket are sewn on, not a brooch, there used to be a dinosaur too.
The thing on my eye is just makeup that I change everyday.

Super cool artistic look!
December 13, 2012 at 6:25 am
one of the most artistic outfits I’ve seen!
December 13, 2012 at 6:27 am
Brilliant look – unique, distinctive and different. It says Bohemian and arty, oozing confidence but not in a false way.
So glad the eye work is makeup and not ink! I am not a big lover of tattoos but each to their own.
She is definitely zagging . . .
December 13, 2012 at 7:26 am
This site never fails to surprise me. Everyday I’m expecting something different, exciting and I’m never disappointed, either I like an outfit or not, it doesn’t matter. It’s about stepping into people’s creativity and getting ideas. Great job !

December 13, 2012 at 12:17 pm
Super-cool! Love the play of detail against simplicity–the eye makeup against an otherwise minimally-done face, the lapel of the jacket against the plain black. And that chain-mail piece is just excellent. The video on the website is fascinating too–thanks for the link. You’re a gifted artist, Sky! :)
December 13, 2012 at 12:34 pm
how awesome is that young lady!
December 13, 2012 at 1:19 pm
December 13, 2012 at 12:38 pm
Thanks for the information, @hi – I was worried about it being a tattoo, as well. It’s a fun, creative pattern, but only in its temporary state.
December 13, 2012 at 12:59 pm
Sky, you are amazing!! Such delicate and perfect design.
December 13, 2012 at 3:10 pm

Is her hat made of metal? Such an interesting girl. I love her individuality.
December 13, 2012 at 10:18 pm
An artist only needs to be true unto themselves. Her truth shows in her confidence. Beautiful young lady.
December 14, 2012 at 12:25 am
I have seen Sky wear a different design on her eye many times. Never too much. Subtle. Dedicated artist. Dance Gypsy.
December 14, 2012 at 7:46 am
trop joli son oeil!
December 15, 2012 at 2:58 pm
Is that a tatoo on her lid?
December 19, 2012 at 3:19 am
interesting, the hat is also really cool. this sort of overly-made up, carefully placed style isn’t really my favorite, nothing against her though, she seems dedicated
April 9, 2014 at 1:53 pm
It’s interesting the make-up: maybe it’s something symbolical…
