I feel like plaid has been in fashion all along, just transferred to different audiences. For example, the hipster crowd has been all over it, and now it seems to be transitioning back into couture. I love the first picture because I will always appreciate a woman who isn’t afraid to be luxurious and sumptuous. Beautiful.

I love plaid, it goes with everything and is a winter must have!
I simply adore your ‘If you’re thinking about’ posts… Your eye for fashion is sublime Scott x

OK – obsessed with the fur-hooded plaid parka to the right.
November 29, 2012 at 4:10 pm
I love the dress on the left!

The girl in the first picture is my favourite, she has something vintage I adore!
Is this a new trend?
I’ve been desperate to put some classic red plaid in my wardrobe and this has helped support my decision :) Thanks!

Love this print!! I want a pair of trousers with it.
November 29, 2012 at 4:28 pm
The jacket in the middle is fanstastic, a bit boxy and a bit 80ies.
November 29, 2012 at 4:32 pm
I like it :)

I prefer how the pattern looks in the last picture, it fits better with the whole look!

Love this! I need a plaid blazer so bad, I’m just waiting for the J.Crew one to go on sale.

I love plaid! As a dress or a jacket and also as a skirt! Perfect for this weather.
The woman in the middle is gorgeous. I love the menswear-inspired fit and hat accent. The contrasting background color and her blazer really makes her stand out.

The coat on the right looks warm and cozy combined with the hat, furred hood and boots.

i’m really mad for this trend <3
thanks for sharing!

My dad wore a custom made plaid jacket to my sister wedding this fall. I think you would appreciate it.

Mmmmmmmm. They are all lovely. And, I’m thinking about those platform booties on the lady in the dress. I can be tall, fashionable and comfortable!
November 29, 2012 at 6:33 pm
Gosh, I love classic plaid! These photos demonstrate how versatile it can be :)

Why yes I am :)

Is the appeal of the lumberjack-type plaids (as above) mostly an American thing, do you guys think? I know some of the commenters who like the look are not American. But I don’t think it’s too big here in Australia, where I’m not sure it would have any lumberjackish association — it would just look Scottish maybe.
November 29, 2012 at 8:19 pm
I’m always so envious of women who can pull together a look with plaid without looking like a lumberjack of sorts…
Will be looking back to these pictures for some motivation and inspiration for my next attempt!

Love all three of these plaid looks, but the plaids I really love are those with lots of subtle colors, where the interweaving of one color with another makes unexpected transitions.

Whether a dress, jacket, or skirt, plaid pattern is always my favorite winter fashion. Paired with over-the-knee boots, I feel I am the prettiest and sexiest lady in town! :D

Funny! I busted out my plaid Pendleton coat for the rain today! It looks a bit like a bathrobe but I wear it anyway.

great selection! each of them has really different style!

I like plaid but more when it’s worn as a coat or blazer like on the second photo! It can make someone really old or sloppy when it isn’t worn well…

Love all looks! Anyone know who is the young woman on the left? I’ve seen her photographs before…always so stylish.
December 6, 2012 at 12:37 pm
Ooh! I have that exact same jacket in the second picture! Picked it up at a thrift shop in Australia. I wore it during our winter that just passed. Was never entirely sure if it was awesome or un-cool or both… Your picture has affirmed it to be the former and her styling is perfect.
