Yes, romantic depiction of American country life. I love this so much! Would love to see more of her.

simple and beautiful! :)

A refreshing change from your usual urban choice of scenery, but somehow she still looks like a super cool urban hipster. It looks like a great, peaceful escape for her.

Totally agree with you.
November 27, 2012 at 9:09 am
I love this photo and the fact that it ventures outside of the otherwise normal cityscape that tends to be photographed. Even in a rugged landscape, this woman still manage to look beautiful. She owns her style.
November 27, 2012 at 9:10 am
Is she an artist? Love this shot.
November 27, 2012 at 9:13 am
I have never been in Nashville but need to go now I know streets look like this. Beautiful face, fierce expression, soft style…

I just moved to Nashville 3 weeks ago, and so this makes my day. Here’s to hoping I bump into you on the East side.

Love the natural lightning, clothes looks very comfortable to vear on top even maybe the legs can be little bit cold outside. The camera craftsman making things comfortable to look at.
The house looks like one of those I see only in some movies….and Emily looks like a real painter! Very charming!

Like the location and like her style but I wanna know the story behind this shot, how did you take it? What were you doing at the moment?
November 27, 2012 at 10:11 am
WOW! Amazing shot and setting! Love that she is completely at ease doing her thing and looking fabulous without being necessarily “put together”. That’s definitely true style.
Love that it’s a different take on “street” style…country road edition!

There is nothing better than old paint-stained pants and a big, shapeless sweater pulled tight for a brisk walk through autumn leaves…to the greenhouse, to the studio, or just because. One of my favorite pictures ever.
I live in Nashville and I’m also a painter/fashionist! I love the look of this, it really portrays a “Nashville” style! Absolutely Beautiful!
November 27, 2012 at 11:33 am
You were in Nashville? I moved here from Brussels 6 years ago and it has changed a lot :) I am loving this city.

This photo reminds me of Colorado, the coziness of the cardigan, the fallen leaves and blue sky. I can feel the crispness in the air.

I’m guessing she’s an Action Painter, judging by the splattered shorts…nice to get a glimpse of that famous “Nashville Skyline”.
November 27, 2012 at 1:25 pm
Yes, we can suppose she’s a painter.
November 27, 2012 at 12:04 pm
Wow! What a beautiful lady and what a wonderful backdrop! The picture is timeless!
November 27, 2012 at 12:17 pm
There’s nothing I don’t love about this photo – love her cool mix of shabby chic and classic preppy – love the setting – nice change from the tough city streets.
You made my day!

Love it. Everything just works. And what a great setting!
November 27, 2012 at 7:07 pm
She looks very regal. Sort of a country aristocrat American style.
November 27, 2012 at 7:09 pm
You know, I have to wonder; Do you suppose Scott knows any women who don’t have legs a mile long? I am not complaining at all, mind you…just wondering is all.
November 28, 2012 at 12:26 am
Right, Martine. Scott may see those other leg-length-challenged women–and deals with them well in all aspects of life–but it’s his camera that is always spotting the long-limbed and capturing them for posterity: It’s possessed. At least that’s what I heard he tells Garance. But what do I know? I just come her for the long legs and I am rarely disappointed.

Beautiful, moody portrait.
November 28, 2012 at 3:27 pm
Love this. It’s nice to see something a tad less urban.
November 29, 2012 at 8:07 pm
I love her loose-comfy jacket, but the look in general just seems average to me. the layering with the floppy is uncommon to me and it looks nice though.
but I hate shorts that are that length and loose around the knee area, but maybe that’s why she chose them as her painting shorts…

I love that you are doing more photos in the South. Your Savannah set was amazing. That city is so unique. I’m from Arkansas, and southerners have a certain flare about the way they present themselves even (or perhaps especially) when they’re wearing old, worn in clothing. Thank you for the variety.
