Love the 20s movie star lip. Love the coat collar. Love her hair (and I am not usually a fan of real brunettes going lighter).
Pretty and adorable.

i hate how almost none of your pictures from korea is a full body shot.
November 27, 2012 at 12:40 am
hate is a strong word – and your are wrong, go back 3 pages and count; there are actually an even mix of full body, half, and head shots
November 27, 2012 at 7:26 am
it reminds me of a geisha makeup :)
November 26, 2012 at 8:36 pm
I love the colors in this picture and she’s so pretty but she looks rather Japanese than Korean^^
Your always around Myeongdong or Hongdae :D
Did you ever go to the traditional Dongdaemun market? It’s really big and each Dongdaemun market has it’s own opening hours^^ It’s quite interesting.
November 26, 2012 at 11:41 pm
What makes you say she’s Japanese? Well, I’m Korean and I’ve lived in Korea for fifteen years (i know, not that long) but i think her face is a typical korean one that i see on streets when I go to Korea during my holidays…

Well, I am a southkorean and i got truly shocked that some foreigners see most Asians as ‘Japanese’ but if you see some pictures of Southkoreans and Japanese celebrities, you will find the difference ^^ it’s like Asians couldn’t discriminate white Europeans and Americans.

The soft focus colors in the background: a Wong Kar-wai movie.
November 27, 2012 at 12:14 am
Er, that’s kind of an erroneous comparison. It’s the same as watching an Italian model walk by and saying s/he reminds you of a Bergman film. Or, I dunno–looking at all of Europe through one lens.

I was commenting on the background composition, not the beautiful woman. I was remiss for not qualifying my comment, to avoid offending any ethnic sensitivities.
November 27, 2012 at 1:19 pm
I love the backgroung too.

Wow, she’s pretty chic and an excellent contrast to the other Korean street shots you’ve made so far. I kind of felt that you were looking for Japanese style in Korea for a while until I saw this one.

ASIA IS SO MUCH AHEAD OF US WHEN IT COMES TO FASHION, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO STREET FASHION!!!
November 26, 2012 at 10:16 pm
Great shot, I wish I could see her full outfit. Love the soft colors of the background!
November 26, 2012 at 10:24 pm
Ahh! I lived in Seoul for three years and whenever I missed New York one of the places I went to was Myeondong. Now that I’m back in the US, I miss Seoul. Grass is always greener… thank you for sharing your life with us!

What a pretty cupid’s bow lip. First time I saw someone do that whose lips weren’t either blood red, black or deep burgundy.
November 26, 2012 at 10:41 pm
seoul has been more head shots – not that i don’t like it…just echoing what the 2nd comment said. it’d be nice to see more full-body shots! and i hope you took photos of guys too ^__^

Welcome to Korea. I hope you can meet many awesome Koreans and take many pictures of them so people in other countries are able to know how stylish korean people are ;) I strongly recommend you to go to Gangnam for seeing people who are very young and trendy! Just as the singer Psy singing in his song Ganagnam Style haha

Her expression is great – but I love the colours in the out-of-focus background!

I love everything about this photo: the pink cheeks, the red lips and the romantic coat… She kind of looks like a porcelain doll
November 27, 2012 at 1:32 am
Love the lipstick. Almost Geisha-like!
(I realize it’s the wrong country…)

I’m joining other comments : I’d like to see this young woman in full, I’m curious about the shoes she is wearing, no doubt perfect.
She is simply beautiful.

I’m getting surpried with korean people.
Such a lot of fashion in such an exotic place…
November 27, 2012 at 12:44 pm
Interesting, thought-provoking expression on her face.
November 27, 2012 at 1:39 pm
Interesting the feedback re: Korean/Japanese …. if you posted a Milanese woman wearing a bolero jacket, and we commented on the Spanish style, I’m sure there’d be no uproar. I do understand the cultural issues re: Korea and Japan, though.
While to me she looks Korean, her makeup has a Japanese Geisha quality to it, for sure – the pale face, the cupid’s bow. I think that’s why people are reminded of a Japanese look when they see this photo. I don’t think we (as Asians) should expect everyone to be able to identify which is which – we just have a more educated eye because we’ve been exposed to it since birth.
(I’m half-Japanese, BTW).
November 27, 2012 at 7:41 pm
Korean fashion/makeup are so influenced by earlier japanese style – 90′s
November 27, 2012 at 2:14 pm
She’s just beautiful. x
November 27, 2012 at 5:37 pm
She is so beautiful.
…and then the lips twist the visual impact just a bit.
Kind of an exciting surprise.
November 29, 2012 at 2:21 am
Thanks always for your impressive photos and I also enjoyed your first talk show in Seoul .
Hope you enjoyed traveling and taking pictures in Korea. : )

There is a great chance she may actually be Japanese. Myeongdong recieves a large amount of Japanese tourist year-round. The subway lines that service Myeongdong give announcements in Japanese and all the hotels offer Japanese TV. I happen to be in a hotel in Myeongdong right now, I live and work in Korea.

All the colors work beautifully together.
December 3, 2012 at 3:07 am
Wow, wow, wow, simply wow
December 12, 2012 at 1:40 am
Love it all…especially the tucked-in hair and stained lip.
December 22, 2012 at 2:59 am
She has style, but not that comfortable with the word if korean. So many visitors occupying Myongdong these days. Like the contrast! Beautiful shot.
