The dress and shawl/cardigan are beautiful, and I would agree, refined. The photo is beautiful. But her posture is not just poor, it makes her look weak and vulnerable. I hope this is not today’s definition of a refined young lady.
what makes this picture refined is not the miu miu dress, ruffle or short depth of field: it is the way she looks upwards, in a self countenance posture that is almost considered a crime among urban women nowadays. Not afraid of being sweet. A+
Where is her bag? A cute girl like her should have a cute bag! From my collection no doubt! (Shameless plug there) I do like her demure pose. Can’t go wrong with a black and white print. Great platform shoes and I like that they’re not black. She must be an editor or a stylist. Models don’t tromp around in heels during fashion week.
She looks cute… granted she does work at Vogue and is trying to re-invent herself as a socialite (lots of her on Patrick McMullan) so you would expect nothing else.
You are right. And furthermore, I think there is going to be a revolution. Down with women walking around like thrift store multicultural christmas trees! Up with refinement and the attractiveness that comes with restraint.

What I like about this photo is tilted angle and the short depth of field.

I totally agree with you Scott, refined young lady is an oxymoron today, unfortunately.

I’m pretty sure she is Devon Shuster from Vogue and that dress is by Thread not Miu Miu. I saw it at Barney’s.
