April 7, 2010 at 9:54 pm
What a fabulous idea for an editorial! And it turned out beautifully! Giovanna is a genius! :)xx
April 7, 2010 at 9:55 pm
I know it had to be a "real" model and "real" RTW but I wish you could have just shot the fabulous Garance who always looks fresher and funner than a whole runway full of models, and her clothes choices really snap.
April 7, 2010 at 10:00 pm
Fabulous, especially the video ! Also nice to see photos of Scott and Garance in action.
i love you.i love garance.i love the two of you as one.
April 7, 2010 at 10:10 pm
Does someone know what is the title of the song used in the video? I would be very grateful! Thanks!
Love it! I recognize the first picture from this past fall and remember loving the humor in it. I have to say, that scene was quite beautifully choreographed! As always, thanks for sharing.

the first photo is like a mirror shot! really nice shot, cool look with the victor & rolf jacket and miu miu dress!
Oh I remember seeing that picture of Garance taking a picture on her blog. Now this is a picture of you taking a picture of Garance taking a picture of Giovanna! The circle is complete. Nice video as well, the hasselblad looks out of place though.

April 8, 2010 at 12:01 am
hey. a real fun.. amazing story..keep going!!
April 8, 2010 at 12:07 am
Brilliantly meta editorial, and Garance looks fab as always. But can I suggest "bloggers chasing to report online, the catwalk people in real time" instead?
April 8, 2010 at 12:08 am
I love it all!
April 8, 2010 at 12:11 am
Song is "Somewhere over the Rainbow/What a wonderful World" by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. I loved it too! Found artist over in comments on garancedore.com

WONDERFUL! It shows how much fun you all had and the results are just fantastic – LOVE IT!
April 8, 2010 at 1:06 am
I think Garance should have been the model in the photos as she's much more beautiful and it would have been more realistic!
April 8, 2010 at 1:14 am
I love the idea! And what a great bunch of pictures! perfection!!
April 8, 2010 at 1:27 am

mid-year resolution: i have to stop watching Garance's videos and checking out the Sartorialist!! They make me want to quit my job and buy lots of cool clothes… result? lots and lots of debt and eternal happiness :) xo
April 8, 2010 at 3:34 am

This was a fantastic idea Ms. Battaglia!! I absolutely love all the images you shot Scott — especially how the tables were turned on Garance making her the subject instead of the photographer!!

what's the name of the track for the 'vogue pelle backstage nov 09' vid?
thanks so much!
April 8, 2010 at 4:46 am
all good, especially the phone photo. but really, the staged shoot doesn't come close to being as great or interesting as the pics that you both take spontaneously. still interesting none the less, i know its a different thing but major credit where credit due.
April 8, 2010 at 5:05 am
The final pictures were top drawer! Giovanna get an A for catching the inspiration and your get an A for a wonderful job. What a spanking idea for an editorial! And it turned out right on point!
Hmm so that was or was not Garance?
April 8, 2010 at 5:20 am

The song of the video is Black Eyed Peas' Rocking To The Beat for anyone searching.
The idea of the photo shoot is genius: I definitely heart Giovanna: she has such a wonderful taste!
April 8, 2010 at 6:06 am
I also wish it was just Garance ;)

April 8, 2010 at 6:55 am
wow, that girl in the 'real' editorial photos is marija vujovic, a top model from montenegro, a small country in south east europe. she is one of the most beatufil and photogenic girls in the fashion scene. compliments for the choice and cheers, marija
April 8, 2010 at 7:06 am
I remember the photographs! I always love Battaglia's work. But I have to admit that this is probably my favorite concept of hers! It is very cool.
Could you please tell us which song you guys have used for the video?
Thank you in advance!
April 8, 2010 at 7:20 am
Lovely pic the one with the mobile. It is so perfect! Could be the present transposition of the "picture into the picture" typical of some Dutch painters, like Van Dyck or something similar. And the shots on Vogue are a fantastic idea! You're the best fashion blog reporters!
April 8, 2010 at 7:28 am
I am most fascinated with the cellphone photo. Reminds of Mithcell's picture theory. A picture of a picture of a picture. Oh and Garance has great legs.

April 8, 2010 at 1:22 pm
I had no idea that spreads in fashion magazines could be a storytelling device! I don't read/consume much about fashion, but I love this spot. Fascinating stuff!

April 8, 2010 at 2:23 pm
Love this little turning of the tables — especially the cameo by Garance in the next to last photo. In addition to glowing from the inside, she has just the right expression of nonchalance.
I wish we all could enjoy our work so much.

April 8, 2010 at 5:17 pm

April 8, 2010 at 7:50 pm

April 8, 2010 at 8:36 pm
You are Garance are become quite the powerhouse couple in the fashion universe. Certainly you both make up one of the biggest influences in fashion today, and yet you (both) remain so accesible through your blogs and work. I feel like if I saw you in the street, I could say hello. It's refreshing. Thanks for not becoming notoriously aloof, snobby, or downright rude. It makes me enjoy your work even more.
April 8, 2010 at 9:59 pm
Wish we could have a daily photo of Giovanna. I'm really in love and ready to move to Milano, NYC, Timbuktu– whatever it takes!
