He looks great … it’s looks complicated but so so simple … who is he? he looks familiar …
September 13, 2006 at 10:15 am
A picture is worth 1,000 words. This picture is a lovely example of the reason why this is so.
The cardigan, shirt, look very polished. But he looks goth…for some reason…maybe the hair and the rosary..goth going to catholic school. Good sartorial structure, but not on him.
September 13, 2006 at 10:17 am
I’m sorry Sart, I wish I could agree, but he looks like he jumped out of the poster from Prada’s Fall/Winter 2005/6 collection, all those muted tones and the whole sombre feel. I think one needs to take everything in moderation, especially when it comes to fashion.
September 13, 2006 at 10:28 am
So perfect. The pure white and pearl tones are so nice to see in the Fall, and the lighthanded accents of the necklace, garters and bagstrap make this look ethereal.
September 13, 2006 at 10:47 am
The success of this has, I think, to do with the cleverness of the “composition”: the diagonal of the strap against the half-oval of the collar and necklace; the horizontal bands on the sleeves, reiterated by the top of the pants…the eye keeps dancing around: very pleasing!
looks to boyish to me. besides, the mega slim trend and to short jackets are a bit over the top at the moment.
When is that trend over, sart?RegardsMero
September 13, 2006 at 10:49 am
He does look a little too sensitive/totured soul for his own good.
Although, rumor has it winter in NYC will turn your blood to ice. Maybe not all that practical.
September 13, 2006 at 10:50 am
Something about this just says monastery to me. He looks extremely gothy. The picture is beautiful though.
September 13, 2006 at 10:53 am
i really like the accesories. i am calmed by his colour choice. hes beautiful.
September 13, 2006 at 11:05 am
it looks great! he looks soooo calm with his outfit, maybe a little too much. but still; nice work.
September 13, 2006 at 11:15 am
Seems to be a mix between Prada and Jil Sander. The collar of the shirt could be just a little bit longer … I am wondering what kink of shoes he waers … hopefully no sneakers ;-)
September 13, 2006 at 11:16 am
Eck. I don’t like. A costume. I much prefer your shots of “normal” people, heading to and from work, who manage to do so while looking great. This is too fashiony, too thought out.
September 13, 2006 at 11:18 am
I think he pulls off the long hair and cardigan look beautifully.
September 13, 2006 at 11:28 am
A bit too modelly for me…
September 13, 2006 at 11:58 am
this might be a bit of a strange question, but i don’t know where else to ask it; does anyone know what the songs played at this show were?
September 13, 2006 at 12:19 pm
Pieces of it are working for me like the slim cut pant but the buttoned up collar is too circa 1984 for my taste.
I just found the show schedule: http://firstview.com/showschedules/2007/newyorkspring2007.html
I would love to see Zac Posen and what Calvin Klein is up to.
September 13, 2006 at 12:23 pm
It is the necklace thing that puts me off. And somehow it emphasises his narrow physique. Fine but not to my taste. Like the hair though. Very well, English looking,
September 13, 2006 at 12:26 pm
That’s a guy?
September 13, 2006 at 12:29 pm
He looks great. Marc Jacobs is so good at the little subdued details that seem to jump out at you. It’s very artful, very cinematic and with a great use of collage / assemblage techniques. Picasso said collage would be the art-form of this century and this designer is a great representation of that view.Every object has a meaning and he understands this and has a gift for placement and attention to colour.
September 13, 2006 at 12:50 pm
This is very Prada last season or whatever but who cares. He looks cool and distinctive. Love those sleeve garters (?). The little necklace, skinny bag strap, it’s also so delicate, but I think that’s what he’s going for. A little androgny never hurt anyone.
September 13, 2006 at 12:54 pm
I love his look. What is around his forearms? Those black things?
September 13, 2006 at 1:05 pm
I like it!!!!I like how he accessorizes…this look will be so so if it weren’t for the rosary and those black straps (I don’t even know what it is) on the cardigan and how the design of the bag’s strap look across his chest. All of the accessories that he use are minimalistic and not over the top which really compliments the more quiet things in this outfit. AND I’m not sure if anyone thought about it but…doesn’t he look like a blonde Olivier Theyskens?
September 13, 2006 at 1:22 pm
my bf and i have been searching for more fitted mens dress shirts for him that aren’t ridiculously expensive, could you recommend any brands?
he’s a huge fan of zara shirts for men, but variety would be great!
September 13, 2006 at 2:17 pm
One of Tolkien’s elves in New York City.
September 13, 2006 at 2:22 pm
His name is Olof Erlandsson. He’s a swede.
More pictures of him:http://www.stureplan.se/search.php?search_string=olof+erlandsson
September 13, 2006 at 2:28 pm
You know, I don’t WANT to like it. But I do. While he does look like he might have walked off a photo shoot that was taking itself way too seriously, it looks as if it genuinely suits him. I think that’s why it’s indescribable. It shouldn’t work for me. But it does.
September 13, 2006 at 2:51 pm
as noted, looks like goth prada
September 13, 2006 at 2:55 pm
Love his style.. But the hair, scissors? anybody?
September 13, 2006 at 3:18 pm
Yikes, lit – so now prada owns the rights to muted tones and a somber feel? Going to be a long forever here in NYC. Plenty of people wearing that ‘feel’ since well before FW05/06.
Chicken or the egg, and all that.
And I think (s)he looks great. My barber wears the same armbands.
September 13, 2006 at 3:27 pm
Wow, garters on the sleeves. Unheard of in this day and age.
And never you mind, you said it all perfectly.
September 13, 2006 at 3:31 pm
He’s kinda got the androgynous look going on that has been prevalent in the recent fashion ads, except it’s usually the females who resemble male features.
September 13, 2006 at 4:18 pm
The androgony of the model dominates the frame – it overshadows the threads.
September 13, 2006 at 4:19 pm
Too Mia Farrell
September 13, 2006 at 4:24 pm
So to all the swedes out there … who is orloff erlandsson?
September 13, 2006 at 4:26 pm
i think this boy looks soft like a noddle.
September 13, 2006 at 4:27 pm
I love his look, not too “done” at all. He looks like a Vermeer painting. I don’t usually like long hair on men, but on him it looks natural. Is he a model?
September 13, 2006 at 4:38 pm
That’s a necklace, not a rosary.
September 13, 2006 at 4:53 pm
Iiiihh! That’s one of my best friends! He looks beautiful, as always!O- va kul att man skulle hitta dig här!
September 13, 2006 at 5:10 pm
okay….i don’t know what to think…i had to look at the pic several times to figure out that he was a guy…i hope he is a guy…or she has no chest…
September 13, 2006 at 5:14 pm
he’s prettier than me!! he reminds me of the vampire lestat in the 21st century that just came from a prada show.
either way he look good
September 13, 2006 at 6:13 pm
I agree. The British Monastic Vampire.
September 13, 2006 at 7:09 pm
Don’t know if you were aware, but you made a sneak appearance in a pic with Leslie Fremar and Julianne Moore at the Rag & Bone show.
September 13, 2006 at 9:22 pm
the allure of goth…in white
September 13, 2006 at 10:28 pm
I can see how from a “fashion” point of view this looks good, but I think if I saw this guy on the street I would think he looked…odd.
September 14, 2006 at 5:27 am
reminds me of someone from Lord of the Rings
September 14, 2006 at 6:44 am
My friends usually call me the Marc girl…so it seems I have found a long lost brother…
September 14, 2006 at 6:46 am
also a nice Prada touch…
September 14, 2006 at 7:37 am
Yes, he´s an urban Elfo.
September 14, 2006 at 8:02 am
It is a gorgeous photograph, a great outfit, super detail– and I am impressed by your loss of words.
September 14, 2006 at 8:11 am
September 14, 2006 at 10:51 am
you only see a bit of them, but his pants are great.
September 14, 2006 at 11:45 am
very, very smart. and i don’t know if anyone has commented on this yet, but very architectual. only in my wildest dreams could i pull together an outfit like this.
i love it, ice cold.
September 14, 2006 at 12:48 pm
A fully buttoned up collar makes me think of that freaky Karr guy now. Another guy the other day did manage to full off the buttoned color, but because he looked really happy.
This is obviously the guy’s look, and he pulls it off, but he makes think of an elf from LOTR forced into 1950s wear against his will!
September 14, 2006 at 2:47 pm
I really like this look. The accessories really make it pop.
September 14, 2006 at 5:27 pm
Ännu mer svenskar :D
September 15, 2006 at 12:23 am
I agree with City Slicker that this guy looks English. He reminds me of a young Julian Sands (actor). Can also see the LOTR elf look too.
September 16, 2006 at 3:52 am
Back in my college years, he would’ve been my dream date. Now I say, lose the hair or lose the outfit to avoid looking like a cliché. And yet I can’t help but think of the “tragically” lost blond appeal of Orlando Bloom. The boy is delicious and has good taste, the photo just amplifies it.
September 17, 2006 at 4:12 pm
he looks very sweet, she male maybe thats why you can’t discride his look in words, or maybe you have a boy crush?
September 18, 2006 at 1:42 pm
He´s from stockholm, sweden. And I can tell you, he´s always lookin that great…
Girl of Approval
September 19, 2006 at 5:31 pm
He looks like a girl. It’s just too feminine for me.
September 21, 2006 at 10:59 am
From Sweden and name’s Olof, he works in fashion, mostly with styling and public relation….
September 21, 2006 at 6:20 pm
Nice. I’ve never seen these references before. On the one hand it says 1969 California, on the other hand east coast ivy league, on the third hand [heh, heh] slightly femme…great. he looks like a poet
September 26, 2006 at 9:56 am
mmmm,,donno..He wears nice clothes but i find him too female … mabe i’m wrong..but still he is in style-but too “wool jacket soft male”
September 27, 2006 at 12:41 pm
yup, he´s Swedish, I see him walking the streets of Stockholm sometimes. I think he works as a stylist. He should.
January 21, 2007 at 5:33 pm
he´s all dressed in a swedish brand called filippa k, such beutiful boy and clothes
July 6, 2007 at 10:30 am
Is he a model?I guess so because the outfit seems to me like the grunge style of Marc Jacobs.
March 12, 2008 at 1:17 pm
love it. he’s swedish. they have a great sense of style in sweden.

May 11, 2009 at 5:20 am
I love the chain over the shirt idea.. I must try this..
May 17, 2009 at 3:00 pm
he looks amazing.
very well placed look.
the chain could look out of place but i think there is a good balance here
July 20, 2010 at 6:49 am
He has some kind of perfect shape or object arrangement about him. Everything is positioned perfectly. He looks like some kind of forest elf, pulled from the dark, moist, mossy depths and transformed into a modern urban elf of light.
April 20, 2011 at 3:58 am
The only thing i don't like is the necklace..apart from that he has made a great cobination of clothes and colours. And he is really goodlooking too!

You made some good points there. I looked on the internet for more
info about the issue and found most individuals will go along
with your views on this website.
