The studded shoes are huge! I am surprised I’ve not seen more on the blog!
November 14, 2012 at 12:57 am
Agreed – I also love how she has paired these really masculine shoes with that light, white tulle skirt!
Looks amazing, the contrast of the black and white and well as masculinity and femininity is so interesting.

i love it!!! :)

Logically I know this outfit is a tad ridiculous, but the little girl inside me is LOVING the badass boots with the beautiful tutu. What a lovely metaphor for being a woman.
November 17, 2012 at 9:50 am
I don’t think its ridiculous. I like the volume. What could be better then a badass tutu! Love the way you phrased it! I agree with your thoughts completely. It is a very soft/tough visual description of womanhood.
November 13, 2012 at 8:03 pm
A cropped jacket that ends before the fullness of the tutu, and THEN we’re talkin’.
November 14, 2012 at 2:20 pm
Spot on, Liz.

I actually like it this way–it’s more unexpected and bold and creates an interesting line.

Can’t help but love a tutu worn outside the realm of the ballet stage! Licence to wear one myself I think.

I think I’m kind of diggin’ how she’s managed to make tulle seem both rockin’ and polished at the same time.

Makes me wanna buy a tulle tutu. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t work in Maine. Unless, it was made out of plaid flannel paired with old Docs.
November 14, 2012 at 9:36 am
Like the idea of a flannel tutu!

We love girly girls who can rock studs at the same time! Beautiful tutu as well as a beautiful pair of worn-in studded worker boots. If only we all could pull off a look like this… Maybe next time we’ll try to style some tutus with our studs, too! http://mostrendy.com/bi-quyet-de-luon-la-cai-dinh/

Bananarama in 1985, Madonna in “Who’s that girl?” and “Desperately seeking Susan”. Nothing is new in fashion. Sigh… It was only a matter of time when this look was going to come back in fashion.
